Breakfast Topic: Taking a day off from WoW

It’s no secret that I’ve been playing a lot more lately: leveling up a host of warriors, getting geared up, doing some raiding. It’s been fun. But one thing I really hate is the feeling of compulsion, that I have to log on to get my followers all set doing missions, clean out my mine, go trap some critters for savage blood, etc. So Sunday, instead of logging on to the Darkmoon Faire, or running dungeons, or hitting up LFR or any of the stuff I usually do, I did nothing.

Didn’t log on at all.

And I really think it was the right move. I’ve logged on since then — had stuff to do and all — but having a nice break from WoW seems to have reinvigorated me. There’s something about the feeling of being forced to play on a set schedule that really doesn’t do it for me, as a player. It’s the same reason I disliked the daily valor runs and so on. I recommend taking a break from time to time.

Do you think you could use a day off? Or would you never let that happen?
