Breakfast Topic: What weapon would you like to see Azeroth Armory create next?

Azeroth Armory

Azeroth Armory debuted yesterday, featuring Warcraft weapons created in real life by master blacksmith Tony Swatton. The premiere of what I hope will be a lengthy ongoing series highlighted the creation of a fully-functional Gorehowl, which was promptly used to smash and chop through a variety of objects. I’m pretty sure I could watch this kind of thing all day. It had everything I was looking for out of a web series — detailed footage and explanation of the process, and even lore facts about the weapon.

If you go check out the video on Blizzard’s Youtube channel, the description asks what you’d like to see next from the forge. That’s a really good question, and I’ve been thinking about that since the video came out. Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker? Quel’Serrar? Ashkandi? Heck, why not Ashbringer? With ten years worth of weapon models to choose from, the list of potential creations is absolutely massive — and I’m hoping this means we’ll see plenty more Armory episodes as time goes on. I loved the webseries Man at Arms, so I’m kind of ridiculously happy to see one created specifically with a Warcraft twist.

What do you think of the series so far — are you looking forward to seeing additional episodes? What kind of weapon would you guys like to see created next time? Do you think they should try out some polearms? How about a shield, like the Bulwark of Azzinoth, or maybe even a staff or two? I think I’d love to see a real-life version of Anathema. Especially if the sections that look like blades could actually be constructed and used to slice through things. Would you like to see more web series along these lines, maybe something where they brought in people to craft armor replicas as well?
