Breakfast Topic: What would you like to see come out with every single patch?
After a decade of patches for World of Warcraft, the one unifying factor they all have is that… well, they’re big. And they usually tweak class balance a bit. People have complained about patch 6.1 being feature-light, but it doesn’t hold a candle to patch 2.2’s unloved voice chat system, and there have been entire patches centered around just adding one or two new dungeons. Not every new patch means a new raid or new quests or new dailies.
This isn’t exactly uncommon in the larger MMO world, but it does mean that patches can be a bit lopsided. One patch can feature loads of content for your preferred playstyle, while the next has nothing for you to do. So let’s put on our designer caps and ask what one thing you’d like to see come out with every single major patch, regardless of what else is in that patch. A new battleground? Sure. A new dungeon? Okay. A new raid? That works. Even just a new daily hub or a new zone would make sense; the point is just that ever major patch would feature this as a bare minimum. What would you pick and why?
