Blizzard and Scholastic to release children’s book series World of Warcraft: Traveler

Today Blizzard announced a new series of books for kids ages 8-12 called World of Warcraft: Traveler. Created in partnership with noted publisher for children Scholastic Books, Traveler follows the journey of a young human finding his way and trying to survive in the wilds of Azeroth. The art by Samwise Didier in the video announcement seems to show the titular adventurer meeting characters that run the gamut from a humble murloc companion to big characters from lore, like Tyrande and Malfurion.

The main character is described as having many talents, including adventuring and drawing. The first book in the series will have an artistic focus, which will help bring the story to life for young readers. The books are intended to stand alone, so even readers who aren’t familiar with Azeroth will be able to immerse themselves in that world.

World of Warcraft: Traveler is slated to arrive in November 2016. Here’s the video announcement:

We’ve also put together a gallery of still images from the trailer.
