The Queue: Oblivious

Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!

What’s that? Something behind me, you said? Don’t be silly, everything is perfectly fine — say, do you smell sulfur? I’m just going to ignore that and answer your questions instead.

LOTHARFOX ASKED:

Do you still try to get old legendary items? If so, why do want them? For Timewalking? O achievements? Or just for bragging rights?

My Rogue currently has every legendary she can equip. However, I keep thinking about trying to pick up Val’anyr, Hammer of Ancient Kings for my Priest. Not for any real reason, just because it’s there and obtainable. …there are days I wish I could still get Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian because I’d love to have that one. I wonder if Khadgar would let me borrow it for a little while. Just for funsies.

BOOTY BAY BREWING CO ASKED:

So as a gnome player that is excited about the addition of gnome hunters and for the sake of discussion,  If someone chooses to NOT buy the new expansion Legion,  would the gnome hunters still be available to play or is the expansion needed to unlock them?

You’ll still be able to play them — the expansion itself will be off limits, but Gnome Hunters aren’t tied to that. They’re just new combinations of the usual classes. Feel free to tame all the pets you’d like!

DIAVO JINX ASKED:

Is the Overwatch install portable like WoW’s is?

I’m moving primary hard drives tonight (clean install of an OS on the new one, w00t no more OS issues!) and want to directly copy as much as I can and avoid downloading hundreds of gigs of games/programs from the ‘net.

It should be — all of Blizzard’s other titles are, and I don’t think they changed anything with Overwatch. Give it a try, if it works, great! If not, you’ll just have to download per usual. Can’t hurt to try it out either way.

BEDEFIANT ASKED:

Q4TQ: With new legacy achievements being introduced in Legion – for people that did the questlines to get Benediction and Rhok’delar. Do you think there will be more introduced for people that did the questlines to get Quel’serrar and also, for example – people who upgraded their Vanilla Dungeon sets to Soulforge and the like?

I wouldn’t mind seeing those added — Quel’serrar was pretty amazing and difficult to get back in the day. The dungeon set upgrades were also a serious time sink, and you can’t do them anymore. Both of them seem like the kinds of things that would warrant a legacy achievement, but we don’t know if those are going to be added or not.

@KREMLINCARDINAL ASKED VIA TWITTER:

FTQ (and probably Alex or Matt): are there any events soon at which it would be likely to hear Hearthstone’s next release?

I checked with our resident Matticus, who is usually on the up and up about these things, to see what he thought. He said, “Gamescom (betting odds) and/or PAX Prime (Unlikely). And if Matticus was a betting man (which he is), if an Adventure would be announced this year, that would be it. Then you can expect the final expansion announcement of 2016 to take place around BlizzCon.”

Obviously this is all speculation at this point, but I imagine if anything’s coming up at Gamescom, we’ll know soon enough — Gamescom takes place August 17-21.

@GUNDERSNATCH ASKED VIA TWITTER:

Do any of the Blizzard Watch writers still play Overwatch and what are your favorite characters to play?

Oh heck yes they do! Alex says he likes playing Lucio, Mercy, Roadhog, and Reinhardt. Anna says she likes playing Mei, Symmetra, and Junkrat, but she’ll hop on Lucio for support if needed. Matticus enjoys playing Zarya, and insisted I link his player profile, in which you can see that yes, he definitely likes Zarya a lot.

Rades says he likes to play Tracer, Mei, Junkrat, Widow, Zarya, Lucio and Mercy — quite the spread of characters! As for me, I like playing Reinhardt, Winston, Mei, and yes sometimes Bastion — look, he’s fun okay — but I haven’t had a lot of time to play at all since the game came out, unfortunately.

We have other writers who enjoy playing too — they just didn’t happen to be around to chime in.

That’s it for today’s Queue — if you have any questions you’d like to see answered, be sure to leave them in the comments below!
