Diablo introduces lackluster rewards for season 7, we pretend to be excited

The Diablo team has just announced the reward lineup for the upcoming Season 7 (coming on August 5th) and there’s a certain lack of enthusiasm in players’ responses. On offer are new transmogs, a portrait frame, and a pet as well as the set items and increased stash space for completing the Season Journey.

The pet, which I’d call a terrifying demonic unicorn, is actually a reward I’d use in-game, but the rest… well, there’s just not anything new beyond the season grind. At this point, Diablo’s players have been pretty content starved.

So what would make players happy? A new content patch or expansion. The last content addition was Greyhollow Island in patch 2.4.0 which landed in January. That’s not quite a WoW level content drought, but it’s a long time to go without anything to do except start a brand new character for the latest Season.

While we know the Diablo team is staffing up for something, without knowing what they’re working on or when we’re going to see it, it’s hard to stay enthusiastic. Having been a Diablo fan before I was a Warcraft fan, I’m pretty bummed by the lack of new content… still, I’m holding on to hope that there’s something great on the way. But that’s not enough to make me want to grind through another Season Journey.

And what about you, dearest readers? Are you still running through the Diablo Seasons or have you, like me, lost both patience and interest?
