Why do you play what you do?

I have a well known (by you guys, anyway) vision problem, so it shouldn’t be a surprise to you that certain games that rely on quick reaction time (like, say, Overwatch) are games that I can’t effectively participate in. It’s not that I don’t want to. I love the lore behind Overwatch, and I’d eagerly watch an animated series set in that world. But I simply can’t hack playing the actual game.

But I do play a lot of Diablo 3, entirely because I can play it on my own. I can play at my own speed and difficulty (Torment IV is about my limit) and never have to worry about letting anyone else down. It’s one of my favorite Blizzard games for that very reason.

World of Warcraft is about in the middle for me. I play it a lot as a solo player, but I’m also in a casual raid. Because of that, I worry sometimes that my eyes are making it harder for other players. But generally it feels like I can hang at the level we’re playing at — I enjoy the social aspects of it all. It hits the sweet spot for me.

So now let’s turn to you — what games do you play and why do you play them?
