The Queue: Not so dryad
Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!
You know, I questioned the logic of a half-melted dryad actually being able to successfully give me a quest. Then I remembered that one time that Khadgar shoved his head in a ball to deliver another quest, and realized anything is possible.
Q4tQ: Do you think it’s possible in a future xpac that we could go to the twin moons of Azeroth? Do you think there may be civilizations there?
I don’t think so. Maybe a naaru settlement? But I think it’s pretty doubtful — there are more interesting things to explore than a couple of moons.
Q4ThoseWhoHaveArtifactWeaponsThatDon’tTalkToThem (that was a long one): If you could make your current Artifact talk, would you want it to, and “who” would it be in the weapon (Tal’kiel was an power-hungry Eredar, Aluneth has a part of Alodi, The First Guardian in it etc)?
It depends on the character, but let’s see here. My Shaman has the Fist of Ra-den, so maybe hearing Ra-den’s memories or something would be interesting. Druid has the Scythe of Elune, so maybe having the spirit of Arvell (from the Curse of the Worgen comics) randomly appear would be appropriate. At the very least, I think it would be sweet, and a nice tie-in to outside media. My Rogue, however, is carting around the Kingslayers. It sort of feels appropriate that they remain silent.
Q4tQ: I’ve been working on Draenor Pathfinder (finished it last night –Woot!) but I always had trouble dropping the Saberstalker totems to spawn the fighters. I’d have to right click like 50 times before it would start casting…it just kept saying “You can’t do that yet” or whatever. This was after the dead previous fighter’s body had despawned.
Was it just me? Maybe my hunter ticked off a shaman in a past life, and was cursed with totem trouble…
I believe there’s some kind of limit to how many of those guys you can spawn at any given point in time. I’m not really certain on that, though — but given how many people were out there in Tanaan when it first opened up, it honestly wouldn’t surprise me at all!
Q4tQ — For years, before Legion’s model update, we all saw the spirit mobs as some glowy white-blue insects, right? It wasn’t just me, right?
I don’t know, they always looked more like a floating sheet with skeletal claw hands to me — not really what I’d call an insect at all.
Archaeology QftQ: I just started leveling an Alt who has archaeology and all of the dig sites on my map are only in Suramar. I’m level 101 and Suramar is 110. Is it intentional that we aren’t really supposed to be able to level archaeology until closer to max level? (I mean I could, I think, get into Suramar but I’d aggro everything in site and die horribly many times). I checked with some other of my alts and they only have Suramar digs too.
Archaeology is a little different this time around — but I believe you should be seeing dig sites everywhere, as long as you’ve gotten the appropriate Archaeology level from the trainer in Dalaran. Talk to Dariness the Learned and see if you need to pick up Legion level Archaeology. I know I was seeing dig sites in multiple zones at once, so I could always work on dig sites while I was out doing quests — my Shaman worked on a variety of different areas while leveling.
That same trainer will also offer you quests to go to particular areas and complete digs. This week, it’s Suramar — but the featured zone rotates on a weekly basis.
Q4tQ: how many druids are too many druids?
There are never too many Druids. I mean, come on — they’ve got an animal form for every occasion, no matter what you’re looking for! And I’m totally not just saying that because I really like playing my Druid this expansion. No sir. Definitely not.
