What makes you give a game a chance?

One of the reasons I love Diablo 3 so much is the music. The sountrack to the game is incredible, and the first time I heard the main theme I decided then and there I was going to play it. I could, in fact, credit the music in pretty much all Blizzard games I’ve liked. But it hasn’t always been the thing that got me to try the game. World of Warcraft became one of my games of choice based on word of mouth — specifically my wife, who at the time was in the alpha and absolutely loved it. Talked it up to the moon.

The things that grab us about a game can be anything — a cool demo of Tracer in Overwatch, seeing the cinematic for Legacy of the Void, watching some friends play Heroes of the Storm. It’s a personal thing for everyone, so I’m going to ask you — what gets you to try a game? What got you playing what you’re playing?
