The Queue: There was no ‘Horror’ option

I’m a fan of both action and comedy, but I ended up siding with comedy for this most recent Splatfest. I was somewhat surprised, however, to see action won in terms of popularity 58% to 42% — don’t worry, comedy won the overall contest. That said, I’m a horror fan at heart <3

Let’s Queue.

SAIK DESERVES KUDOS FOR NOT DYING:

So all day Sunday, I had the unexpected experience of having appendicitis. Some of you may have experienced this, it’s really the worse kind of pain ever. Basically feeling like your stomach wants to explode, coupled with constant nausea and chills. But it was a successful surgery with no complications.

Was off from work today (obviously) and will be taking tomorrow off as well. Perfect timing for the new patch! :)

Sorry to hear you had that happen to you! Appendicitis is one of those that, while I know it’s largely not lethal, I can get paranoid about very easily if it feels like I’m showing symptoms. I’ve yet to actually have my paranoia validated, though I’m okay with that.

Hope you feel better ASAP! And enjoy the new WoW content :)

ALICE ROBINSON DOESN’T HAVE A QUESTION, BUT I STILL HAVE WORDS:

I’m not sure if I could accept a Warcraft RTS with absolutely no story. A smaller story, sure, that could work out but to break Blizzard’s long held traditions around story in Warcraft would feel sad.

I’m with you on this one. For a while, I wasn’t sure how a Warcraft RTS could exist in a world that also has WoW. Do you need to play the RTS to understand what happens in WoW? Does WoW’s version of events — if WoW even shows them — feel redundant? How do you keep two games in the same universe and same timeline separate but still make the story feel impactful?

But after some thought, I’ve realized there’s plenty that could be done with an RTS. I’ve said it before, but I would love an RTS to take place during the time of the Black Empire where we see events as servants of the Old Gods (or maybe there were long-lost heroes from back then, who knows!) Essentially, an RTS could be a Caverns of Times dungeon, but to places we’ve never seen before.

Alternatively, an RTS set in Draenor that deals with Farahlon and the Ogre continent after the events of Hellfire Citadel might work. I think people are sick of Orcs, though. Whatever the case, give me story. Make that story provide players with new information that doesn’t have to affect the current events in WoW. I think it could work… but it has to have story.

MYTHRIAK, I’M SORRY, BUT I COULDN’T HELP MYSELF…

HA! Take that Adam’s editorial answer!!! I’m on a stroll!

A stroll? Through the woods? Down a beach? To buy some goods? Maybe a peach?

Wherever you may have been strolling, I hope you enjoyed it! ;)

JALAMENOS ASKED SOMETHING THAT A COUPLE OF YOU ASKED:

Q4tQ: Are you going to start leveling a new character in 7.3.5? If so, have you decided on a race/class yet?

I want to get on leveling a Horde character but I can’t decide on the race and class.
It’s not going to be a Death Knight or Demon Hunter since I want to start from the beginning.
I’m leaning towards a Tauren Paladin or Priest, or an Orc if the upright model comes with the patch (I’m like 90% sure it won’t but you never know).

No, I’m not planning to do any leveling until Allied Races come out, because I don’t really see the point. I have all the races I like at max level, and I have almost every class leveled to at least 100. If I’m gonna grind, I’m gonna do something to make it feel new outside of the leveling system itself.

That said, I prefer Priests (obviously), but I think Tauren work better as Paladins. So… there’s a great non-answer for ya! ^_^

🐉 MALKIL, THE DARK FIRE IS PROBABLY GOING TO DIVERT THE COMMENTS WITH THIS ONE:

QftQ: What’s your favorite Disney era and why? (See: https://i.imgur.com/NyV05P2.jpg)

Man, looking at this, I’m pretty sure I’ve never seen most of the “Experimental Era” movies. Emperor’s New Groove, yes — but the rest (in that picture)? Don’t think I’ve seen ’em.

Crap, man, this is hard to pick. I’m leaning toward The Revival Era because of Big Hero 6, Tangled, and Toy Story 3 (which isn’t pictured). And because the trailer for the Winnie the Pooh movie gave me actual chills.

But damn if the Renaissance Era doesn’t have childhood classics. Basically, I’m torn between my childhood and the movies I can watch as an adult to still feel like a child. I’m just not going to pick. Fight about it in the comments!

ENO WANTS TO KNOW ABOUT ARGUS IN THE SKY WITH TITANS:

QftQ: Is Argus disappearing from the skybox tomorrow with the opening of the last wing of Antorus on LFR? Should we throw a farewell party for It?

P.S. Is you-know-what appearing in Silithus tomorrow?

The way it worked on early builds of the PTR — it’s been a while since I logged on, and they were down when I tried to check for this question — was that Argus was replaced with a faintly glowing red star thing. Silithus was not altered if you hadn’t finished Argus, but that may have changed.

Either way, LFR’s last wing comes out tomorrow, so if you do want to see Silithus changed, you’ll just have to suffer through some wipes.

Oh, and there is a SELFIE camera filter being added that puts Argus in the sky, so it’s not 100% gone after tomorrow.

TKC, LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT A PRIEST…

Q4tQ: Is only having an artifact level around 25 bad? My stampeding herd of druids almost always split their AP between specs. The rest of the alts don’t get enough play time.

Not at all. It wasn’t until this past weekend that I actually put points into my Holy weapon (I thought maybe I’d get an achievement but I’m lazy and didn’t check this beforehand). I had zero points prior to that — one Artifact Power item later and I’m at… 50 something? It’s fine if you don’t want to put points into your alt-spec weapons, though.

DRINDAAR_LIGHTKEEPER WANTS A NEW KINDA FANTASY:

Anyone else feel like there is a missing class fantasy for Druid? Like we see Druid NPC’s use nature magic to fight. Kind of like a “wrath of nature” fantasy. But as a player, we don’t have that really. Our magic is all solar/lunar based or about transforming into an animal. Healers use nature magic to heal, but I want a class/spec that uses nature magic to fight back.

I agree that it would be really cool to see more on the “nature” side of Nature magic, but apparently Solar spells are Nature magic. I’m pretty sure Druids used to have a bit more in the way of spells that looked natural — that bug thing, Solar Wrath before the animation was changed (I think), Roots — but that’s still not a ton.

I don’t actually know a ton about Druids (it’s the one class I don’t have leveled), but I do agree there are gaps in class fantasies — not just for Druids, but for more classes. In an alternate reality, we have Nature Druids, Psionic Priests, Battle Mages, and more — but in this reality, I think we’re mostly stuck with what we have.

MISTAH JAY WANTS ME TO PUT THE HAMMER DOWN:

2BE: Reinhardt vs Muradin

I love Reinhardt too much to not give this to him. Plus, that voice actor is precious and amazing.

Happy Tuesday, folks! If you’re a regular podcast-listener, don’t forget we’re switching to Wednesdays from now on (with iTunes release on Friday) — we sometimes like to play the games, too ;P
