Patch 7.3.5’s new S.E.L.F.I.E. Camera filters and how to get them

With everything that arrived in World of Warcraft’s patch 7.3.5 this week, it would be understandable if you missed the fact that new filters were added to patch 6.1’s pride and joy: the S.E.L.F.I.E. Camera. But all the same, new filters were added, and despite being in the PTR files, we didn’t actually know how to obtain them. Thanks to Wowhead and several intrepid users, however, we now know where all of the new filters come from.

Funny enough, the new filters require players to take a selfie with the boss most associated with the particular filter. Given that the filters are Firelands, Frostmourne, Sha, Twilight, and Argus, it may not be too hard to figure out what bosses you’ll need to pose with — but just in case, below are the filters and associated bosses needed to pose with. Please note: If you’re not getting credit for a selfie, try taking it while in combat with the given boss.

  • Firelands Filter: Take a selfie with Ragnaros in Firelands.
  • Frostmourne Filter: Take a selfie with The Lich King in Icecrown Citadel.
  • Sha Filter: Take a selfie with Sha of Fear in the Terrace of Endless Spring.
  • Twilight Filter: Take a selfie with Cho’gall in the The Bastion of Twilight.
  • Argus Filter: Take a selfie with Argus the Unmaker in Antorus, the Burning Throne.

While the S.E.L.F.I.E. Camera certainly isn’t everyone’s thing, I know there are those out there who miss having Argus in the sky. This is a nice way to give players a way to pose with the fel-tinged planet even if it’s not canonically looming overhead anymore. Plus, with the final wing of LFR having opened alongside the patch, there’s no real waiting before you’ll be able to snag this one.

Oh, and for those who never earned the S.E.L.F.I.E. Camera back in Warlords, fear not! Blizzard added a new quest to obtain the base-level camera without relying on the Garrison Mission Table, as well as a follow-up quest which rewards the upgraded version. Will any of this get you back into the selfie game? While I’m not planning on blowing up social media with rad selfies, I am pretty happy to see the Frostmourne filter added. I love me some souls!
