What’s in store for World of Warcraft at BlizzCon now?

With the announcement of patch 8.1: Tides of Vengeance, WoW players just got a deluge of information in regards to upcoming content. The PTR will in theory be going live this week, which means dataminers are going to have a litany of new information to comb through over the next several weeks. Two new raids, plenty of story content, Heritage Armor for non-Allied Races, new World Quests, a new Warfront — it’s a ton of new material, and almost all of it is the kind of thing we usually see revealed at BlizzCon.

Meanwhile, BlizzCon is just a couple of months away. If we’re getting all this information now…well, what are we going to see at the convention?

Typically speaking, BlizzCon is where we usually get some really big reveals. Even when Legion was announced at Gamescom, we still got the cinematic and a ton of extra information about the expansion to come at BlizzCon later that year. With Battle for Azeroth having just released, I suspected — and I’m guessing a lot of other people also suspected — that we’d be seeing first patch information at the convention this time around. Announce new raids, new features, maybe those Zandalar and Kul Tiran Allied Races everyone’s been waiting for…in fact, just about everything Ion discussed yesterday.

So…what’s left? Are we going to talk about the patch after 8.1? Are there going to be some major story reveals? Or is World of Warcraft going to take a bit of a back seat behind Blizzard’s other franchises? Speculation has run rampant about possible Diablo announcements this year — are they going to steal the thunder at BlizzCon?

I want to hear what you guys think. Are we going to see a lot of WoW at BlizzCon this year? What do you think we’ll hear about? More importantly, what would you like to hear about? Patch 8.2? Later raids in the works? Even more new Allied Race options? New information on WoW Classic? The sky’s the limit on speculation, so what do you think is in store for World of Warcraft at BlizzCon?
