What world or level from a non-Blizzard game would you love to see remade in WoW?

World of Warcraft is an enormous game. I don’t mean in terms of the space on your computer (though that is large, too) — I mean the world of Azeroth itself is is huge. Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms alone take a long time to cross from top to bottom, and they’re just two continents out of many more. And yet, despite its size and the wealth of zones it has to offer, I still can’t help but wonder about the zones the game doesn’t have in it. What would it look like were my favorite areas from other games to be brought into WoW?

When I first started thinking about this question, several other games’ levels came to mind. What would the Coral Highlands from Monster Hunter: World look like in WoW? How about Rainbow Ride from Mario 64? Oh! Or what about the Zora’s Domain from any number of Legend of Zelda games? Some of these would be easier to make work in WoW, but all of them would still be unique enough that seeing them in WoW would feel fresh (to me, at least). And yet, none of these zones ends up being my top choice.

No, when I was thinking about an answer to this question, I kept returning to Click Clock Woods from Banjo-Kazooie. If you’re not familiar with that world or the game its from, Click Clock Woods was one world divided into four seasons. What you did in one season would affect things in a different season. Outside of the level’s general challenges, the seasonal aspect added an entirely unique puzzle in and of itself. Something blocking your path in winter? Better go back to summer and see if you can move it.

Plus, the fact that you were seeing the same area but how it looked across an entire year’s worth of seasons always fascinated me. I loved seeing how the water would freeze over in the winter, or how the leaves would pile up in the fall. It would be a challenge to bring into WoW, sure — and some aspects would probably be lost — but seeing the same zone as it exists in different seasons is reason enough for me to want to see it remade in the world of Azeroth.

How about you, though? What non-Blizzard game’s zone would you like to see in WoW? Why did you pick this zone, and what unique offerings would come with its introduction? Sound off below!
