Happy… Thursday? Is it Thursday? I suppose it must be if I’m here, but this whole week has felt off by about a day. Anyhow, it’s today and it’s my turn to write this and it’s already late.

So let’s hop right Queue it.

KALCHEUS GIVES US A 2BE… SORT OF:

Q4tQ: [And then it’s a “Who would win?” picture with Mandolf and the Gandalorian, and no, those aren’t typos]

Our Answer:

No one wins. They get swallowed by the Old Gods, who consume their energy to wander the stars and destroy more.

OUR VERY OWN MATT ROSSI ASKS SOME FUN ONES:

Are you more of a Nylarlathotep/Azathoth Outer Gods fan, or do you prefer the cyclopean dread of the Great old Ones like Cthulhu?

How would you give Priests a tanking spec? Use some variety of Shadowform, or perhaps be a tank who tanks via mind control?

Our Answer:

Honestly, I don’t actually know Lovecraft that well, outside of the obvious use of Lovecraftian themes. I love variety, though, so I’m sure they’re both great. It’s tough, because the closest reference I have is WoW, and N’Zoth and Yogg are both pretty dang rad Old Gods, but idk if they’d fall in the same categories above.

I’ve really, really wanted more range-tank content in WoW and even though I think that would be hard to build a tank around (vs. making it a fight where a ranged tank is clearly optimal), I’d definitely like to utilize spells and Shadowform. Use the Void to absorb/deflect/change incoming enemy attacks, massively up VE self-healing, and turn some of our current cooldowns into, well, more tanky versions of themselves. It actually would be pretty dang fun to see what a caster reimagined as a tank (a la Doomfist in OW2) would look like.

…Crap, now I want to Shadow tank.

ARTHONOS HAS A BIRTHDAY TODAYYYY!

Q4tQ: tomorrow, the 29th, I’m turning 39. Since Lefty already got a present, what void themed gift might be in store for me? :P

Our Answer:

HAPPY BIRTHDAYYYYY!!!

Void-themed gift TBD but check back later and I’ll have something to send you. I promise it won’t just be a “Mitch No” sign, of which I still have hundreds.

MR. PRONOUNCED JæKSDæDI, ESQ. ASKS ABOUT ANDUIN:

If Anduin suddenly reappears in Dragonflight, do y’all think we’ll get a cinematic where Wrathion punches him?

Our Answer:

Yes, and then they kiss.

ARTHONOS IS BACK!

Q4Mitch: If there is something malevolent under the Dragon Isles, would it be more appropriate to tie it to the 4 well known Azerothian Old Gods, or better to have it be some unknown Void presences from beyond the stars, to potentially lay a plot thread for a future expansion?

Our Answer:

It depends which Old God it gets tied to. I feel like Tali had a pretty solid-ish theory to back up why it could be Y’Shaarj, but I’d rather N’Zoth or C’Thun be used closer to home, so to speak. There’s a giant evil sword in Silithus just leaking Sargeras energy into C’Thun. I’m not sure his first thought would be a vacation to the Dragon Isles (though, wouldn’t blame him either — it’s the new hotness).

I’m always wary of adding entirely new things to existing lore. It’s hard to make something feel like it’s always been there if we’ve never heard of it, and it also runs the risk of feeling like off-brand versions of the original. So as much as I’d be interested in totally new Void things, I’d only be cautiously interested until I saw more.

MYTHRIAK WAS HELPING:

Q#1: Mitch, can you use this question?
Q#2: Was my question useful?

Our Answer:

Yes and yes.

(In my heart, at least.)

MR. PRONOUNCED JæKSDæDI, ESQ. IS BACK AND ASKING ABOUT ANDUIN.. AGAIN:

QfMitch: When Anduin finally reappears, what life changes do you want/expect? Think he’ll get tattoos? Show up in the Vindicaar, smoking a cigar and sporting obvious cyborg enhancements, yelling “Get in losers, we’re going to the moon!”

Our Answer:

Honestly, we got as close to the Anduin arc that I wanted as I think we’ll ever get. I’ve always wanted “Emoduin” to have his day and really let Anduin show off some Shadow love. In Shadowlands, we got… mind-controlled Death Knight Anduin who Feels Really Bad about what he did.

On the one hand, he got to do things like stab a Covenant leader that I doubt we’d have seen of his own volition. On the other hand, he’s probably gonna come back more righteous than ever now.

My hope, though? He uses Shadow more. And kisses Wrathion.

That’s today’s Queue! It was totally on time.
