Today is the release of the first World of Warcraft Dragonflight patch — 10.0.5 — and we have an extended downtime ahead of us. Today’s maintenance begins at 7 am Pacific and was projected to last eight hours — and after two delays, servers are now up!

So are the servers up yet? Nope! But here’s a quick rundown of the new stuff to expect when they come up.

Patch 10.0.5 brings a host of quality-of-life improvements to what has already started out as a fun expansion. First up — a brand-new feature to World of Warcraft, the Trading Post, arrives February 1. Purely a cosmetic feature (calling to mind the planned D4 Battle Pass), players can purchase transmogs, pets, and mounts in-game from traders in their respective capital cities. Just visiting the Post once a month earns you 500 of the unique feature currency — Trader’s Tender — and you can acquire an additional 500 through completing monthly activities.

This patch also introduces the use of gray or white quality items for transmog, changing their quality to a bind-on-equip. In addition, the Mage Tower makes another return for your Legion armor transmog or the Guardian Druid Fel Werebear form. Haven’t caught yourself a Soaring Spelltome mount yet? Congrats, you get more chances! But remember, the Soaring Spelltome cannot be used in the Dragon Isles.

Patch 10.0.5 delivers some improvements to the user interface’s new edit mode. Now you’ll be able to move your XP bar, bags, and the ‘micro’ button bar (aka your little utility bar in the bottom-right corner of the screen). On the accessibility front, dragonriding gets much-needed tools and improvements to assist with motion sickness and issues from the visual effects.

There are a multitude of class and profession adjustments that are beneficial to check out. A personal favorite — the requirements to unlock your profession specializations has dropped! You should be able to have every tree unlocked by the time you hit 75 in your profession. Sadly, this does not improve the speed at which you gain knowledge in those specializations.

Definitely check out the full content update notes during our extensive maintenance window. Happy Patch Day, and may the odds be ever in your favor.
