Because of the Blizzard Watch Site Curse, the day after we recorded the podcast, the release date for patch 12.0.7 was announced, because that's just how that works. It's June 16, and you're welcome. That also comes with changes to gear repair costs, which we talked about a bit last week, but Joe has a hot take that goes a step further. It's a new month, so that means a new round of FOMO transmog. This time it's Tauren edition.
There was a new Hearthstone expansion announced, featuring Vanessa VanCleef, Escape from Violet Hold. A new Hearthstone expansion announcement also means the Battlegrounds mid-season shakeup, and another weird Darkmoon Faire gatcha game pet. Luckily, this time it's Cute Thun, a horrifying take on C'thun all our podcasters think is too creepy to be cute, even weird offbeat kinda cute.
It's also a good time for Diablo fans, with things like solo self-found and Obol cap changes. And it's a good time for all gaming fans, because Summer Game Fest is imminent, and we've already had several announcements that have us truly excited.
Plus, Cory has a soundbite idea that should make everyone happy. Sort of.

Hello friends. As is tradition, as soon as we were done recording this episode of the podcast, Blizzard went ahead and released new information regarding the release date of patch 12.0.7 for World of Warcraft
0:14
The official release date is June 16th. Please keep that in mind as we talk about it on this week's podcast. Thank you
0:30
Hello, everybody, and welcome to the Blizzard Watch Podcast, where we talk about Blizzard Entertainment and its many games
0:39
and sometimes other games, and, you know, there's certain games that some of us might talk about more if we get prodded
0:47
Looking at all of us. Hi! Hi to Corey, who is our special guest
0:52
Hi! You guys just, like, locked up last week, and you didn't let me out
0:56
so I'm still here. Yeah. Oh, sorry. basement but you know that's fine we we knock a bottle of maple syrup down some often for him
1:03
uh also liz harper joe ferez both here as well so we know at least somebody will be like good at
1:10
doing the podcast that's uh i i am not accepting of that at all uh i will barely behave because
1:17
cory has started the 40k machine in my brain and now i'm starting to go back through the cinematic
1:22
thanks cory he's literally cory is no one knows this about cory but cory for all that he seems
1:28
super nice and affable. He's a relentless poopster. He just cannot help himself. He wants to be
1:34
a talker. He just loves chaos. Yes, he does. Like the orcs. Anyway, we've got to talk about World of Warcraft, because
1:40
it's our job. It's June. That means a new trading post. I'm going to be up front
1:46
I've been busy looking at the other stuff in another game, so I'm going to
1:50
turn to Liz, because I know Liz is basically my dealer for transmog and WoW at this point
1:55
Liz, what's going on with the trading post? This month is all of your Turin-themed goodies
2:01
So, if you have a Turin character who wants to, like, dig into their inner Turin-ness
2:11
we have two mounts, a couple of totems, and two transmog ensembles with different color variants of Turin-style armor
2:24
And, if that is the vibe you want, it is awesome. I am that's not particularly my personal vibe though so I'm just I'm saving up a lot of tendies
2:34
this month seeing what comes next that's just me though uh who here is just grabbing everything
2:41
out of the trading post this month I literally just second you said Tor and I logged in my
2:46
character there you go there you go uh I I I'm in trouble I love I love the trading post in general
2:54
the trading post basically he's looking up at you like that that meme i'm in danger
2:59
except it you know it's he's in front of the trading post i love that um that the chunky
3:05
oversized tauren weapons they're they're so much fun they are there's a lot of things in the trading
3:12
post this month are like wooden like there's a sword that's made of wood with like it's got a
3:18
metal edge on just like the the center of the sword is wooden and i think this is interesting
3:23
but I don't think I will ever use it. I mean, we'll find a reason
3:29
It's transmog. There will be a reason. You can always, you can pick your theme
3:33
That's the thing about transmog. You can do whatever you want. The weekly theme is tauren
3:41
There you go. Whatever, okay. Whatever you want, as long as it isn't having matching shades of gold
3:47
throughout your entire armor. That's just not possible. That will never happen
3:51
But other than that, anything you want. The worst part about that is I never used to see it as effectively
3:57
And then Liz pointed it out. Now, every time I'm looking at a suit of armor, I'm like, that's copper colored
4:02
That's not gold. This is never going to work. I'm sorry, but also I'm not sorry
4:09
I see it all the time and it makes me crazy. And because it makes me crazy, I have to share that craziness with all of you
4:17
You're welcome. Yes, it is. It is necessary and it's fine. Yeah
4:23
Of good note, though, is this mount that comes, the Sunhawk that they've got, has a dismount animation as well as its mount animation
4:34
That's actually really cool. Yeah, it's possibly the first one that does that, because usually mounts just disappear and your character drops down
4:41
But now, it flies away. Well, no, I seem to remember there's another mount that has a disappearing animation
4:50
does it actually show you getting off the mountain though like you stepping down and it going off is
4:55
like a whole thing i don't believe so i think it's still just you're kind of hop off like like you
5:00
normally do but the mount will be seen flying away rather than just poof fair no either way
5:06
new animation is nice cool okay you know i feel like we're done on the transmog discussion at this
5:11
point weirdly i think this is the shortest transmog discussion we have perhaps ever had
5:16
Yeah, I was definitely trying to get my character to the Transmon Fender. Let's talk about the gear repair costs a bit
5:24
because you guys mentioned it last week, and now we have more details. I'm going to read this as it is written
5:31
Gear repair costs are getting overwhelming, but Blizzard is actually doing something about it
5:35
Weapons will no longer take damage when you attack with them in patch 12.0.7
5:39
I mean, that's nice. I think that's good. It's not enough, but it's a nice start
5:46
What do you guys think? Is this good for casters? I feel like it's good for casters
5:52
I actually don't know if it's good for casters, but it's really good for, say, classes that use shields because they took an extra penalty, you know
6:02
Oh, yeah. Because they also had a shield they were using for abilities. And like a protection warrior, whenever they use their shield for like shield slam, that took durability off your shield and increased your repair bills, which now that repair bills have been going insane, this expansion, that could make a difference
6:22
i remember like that's been a problem forever too because i remember way back in the day we had
6:27
paladin tanks would have to bring five shields with them to like yeah to mount hyjal because
6:35
there's that wave of undead that you had like paladins just would tank it because they would
6:39
just block everything but they would destroy their shield like their shield would take so much damage
6:43
from it so yeah that that's been around forever i'm glad they're doing something here but still
6:48
it's it's not new but it's like i don't know every every bit of repair cost this expansion
6:55
is feeling a little egregious because it's just repair bills have gotten it's so much guys it's
7:03
so much we have an allotment for raid night i forgot what it is it's like two and a half grand
7:07
or five grand or something like that and most raid nights on a progression night we are burning
7:12
through that within like the first hour of like it is it is egregious how expensive as far as
7:20
repairs go so anything that reduces it I happy with and it not just uh like shield wearers and melee like tanks uh taking damage as a healer that wields a shield also reduces the durability of the shield
7:37
So like it's, yeah, we may not be attacking with our weapons, but we definitely get hit with it
7:45
I'm not saying that, you know, I'm just wondering if it will be as useful for casters because you're still taking damage every time you do anything
7:52
and having the damage from the attacks, you know, I just feel like they should also be taking damage off
7:59
I always feel like damage just bursts up too quickly. There's enough gold sinks in the game
8:05
Just make repairs cheap. Or, or, or, because we're not in vanilla anymore
8:11
and here's my hot take for the day, just get rid of durability. And here's the reason I say this, right
8:19
When has the last time durability actually made a difference in game and like in vanilla when like you were in the middle
8:28
of like a long boss fight uh sure i like we i've been in plenty of encounters where you know the
8:35
tank had to swap it a weapon or me as a hunter had to replace my bow because we didn't have mobile
8:41
repair anymore uh or at the time there was no like i could drop an anvil you had to pour it out and go
8:47
repair um there was no mounts and most and you couldn't mount in this anyway because instances
8:53
were considered indoors even if they were an outdoor instance um now you can mount in most
8:58
of the instances you can drop a million different repair jeeves uh or anvils or anything else uh
9:04
porting out of the dungeon and going back home i have like 8 000 hearth stones and ways that i can
9:10
teleport out at this point in time or places that i can go with toys that take me to a place that
9:15
has a repair station if I really, really need to. Repair doesn't matter anymore
9:19
It doesn't make a game impact. Aside from randomly causing you to have to spend some gold
9:24
at regular intervals, and anybody says it would break the immersion of the game
9:31
boy, that ship has sailed on durability a long time ago. I just think it's a legacy
9:37
I think it's a holdover, and I don't think it has a good reason to be in-game anymore. That's my hot take. Sorry
9:42
Oh, spicy. Let me be sorry about it. Also, the Sunbringers painted battle garb is beautiful, and I'm super happy
9:50
So, yeah, Joe's 100% right. There's so many ways that you can, in the middle of your run, drop a hair bot
10:01
Joe's right. Joe is 100% right. You got to say it properly
10:06
Do you have to clip it, though? You frequently make correct points
10:11
Yeah, so. Aw, my ego's growing. Thank you. Would you like me to set you both up for, or set everyone up for that
10:19
Liz, you are 100% right. And three, two, one. You know what, Matt
10:24
I think that you are 100% right. No, I am not. No, no, no
10:28
Quiet in the room, quiet on set. Let's try that again. Three, two, one
10:32
You know what, Matt? You are 100% right. I've never successfully been 100% right about anything in my entire life
10:39
Incorrect. Godzilla. Yes. It's Godzilla being right. That's not me being right
10:43
I'm just parroting his words. I think that yeah let's get rid of repair bills let's uh repair bills transmog costs it's just
10:54
a teeny little gold sink on top of all the other gold sinks in the game either that or like I said
10:59
last week just increase gold rewards across the board yeah we're gonna spend big money on
11:05
auction houses and we're gonna spend big money on wow tokens and we're gonna spend big money on
11:10
these big purchases and with transmog I know there's a counter argument and before anybody
11:15
says that i know that we're gonna have at least one listener that points this out um games like
11:20
guild wars uh wait like getting transmog charges costs you uh a separate currency a lot of times
11:27
real money uh but that's also because the game doesn't have a subscription so it's like you know
11:31
recoup some costs and that's part of the monetization of it um other games let you
11:36
you know do things like what we currently have in the transmog system now with you can make a set
11:42
and then replacing items in that set just keeps it in that set transmog that you already have
11:47
Final Fantasy XIV was doing that a long time ago. Like, most of the other games have used them for something different
11:55
and while transmog was a wonderful gold sink at the time, when we didn't have a billion other things to throw money into
12:02
we have a billion other things to throw money into. Consumables alone
12:06
Consumables, this expansion, have been astronomical. more than any other expansion I think we've experienced
12:14
And I don't know if you guys have experienced this as well, but like the cost of good potions
12:19
the cost of good flasks, materials for cauldrons, materials for crafted items
12:23
even lower crafted items. I didn't level jewelcrafting to maximum for the first time ever
12:29
Because it was just too expensive. Jewelcrafting is insane, this expansion. It is insane. It's just too expensive
12:33
The cost of gems, it's off the charts. And a lot of it is player-made economy
12:37
but also it's because of scarcity of resources and that's enough of a money sink
12:43
We don't need additional ones anymore. And then we have the additional, the one that was just added to the game of housing decor too
12:50
Right? Like, again, I'm going to stop. I'm just going to keep repeating the same point
12:55
It's just, they need to go back and just do a review of all the things that used to be
13:00
money sinks and used to be ways of balancing the economy because they're not
13:05
balancing the economy. The rich are getting richer and everyone else is staying poor
13:11
Yeah. So we can move on. Blizzard Watch solves the economy. Two real guys
13:17
Yeah, I was just going to say something. I'm like, I didn't need to hear that because that's basically just my day-to-day life
13:25
Make Warcraft less like real life. Get rid of repair bills. So how about those abundance runs
13:33
in patch 12.07, Joe? I'm glad you asked for that. I'm actually excited about that
13:39
And talk about it, Joe. I was literally about to. So in patch 12.0.7, abundance runs
13:46
you're going to have the ability to do them a little bit quicker because you'll be able to use multiple shards of Dun Dun per run
13:52
So you can use one, two, four, or eight shards at once, each doubling the reward
13:58
This is a massive quality of life improvement. This means that you can run less abundance
14:04
which means everybody can run less abundance, which means server stability will increase
14:09
This is a win-win for everybody. It's more abundance in a smaller package
14:17
Legitimately, this is good, and I have a feeling that this was something they were looking at when
14:24
I'm sure you guys remember this, and we talked about it on the podcast, when abundance first hit
14:29
if you were in a zone that abundance was running, oh my God. like the the frame rate would dip and like i'm not on a a chintzy machine like my machine is
14:39
very good uh as far as like modern specs goes and i would be at like 15 frames uh like just
14:47
sitting in the zone doing nothing when abundance was going they fixed it they released they
14:50
relieved a lot of it this is going to help you in front so yeah abundance change how do you feel it still blows my mind that uh we we facing we faced with these same issues every time there a fun big event happening out in the world Like Dragonflight had the soup now Abundance the Dreamgrove escort missions and everything
15:11
Like, I get it. It's tough because you've got 20 to 80 people all playing in the same area, all with spell effects, all with spawning monsters
15:21
But there's got to be a way. Did any of you play the Warhammer MMO
15:25
The Warhammer Fantasy MMO at any point in time? A million years ago
15:29
Yeah. When it came out, yeah. Yeah, so when it first came out, one of the big things that was, because it was a very player versus player focused game, they had public quests
15:39
They had things that would be like these spontaneous war zones that would pop up where you and the members of your faction would fight against the other members of the faction for resources and the ability to do quests in those zones as you controlled it
15:52
in order to continue to do the quest, you had to maintain control of the zone
15:58
This happened like at the dawn of Warcraft, like all around the same time
16:04
And when they did it, we had the same server problems then
16:08
They figured it out back then. And to Corey's point, I think that they just underestimate in Warcraft
16:14
the popularity of these things or how they're going to be. Because you have things like the void assaults now
16:20
and I barely see people do that right like at least when I'm going it's it's I I do not run
16:27
into many people in the wild and maybe it's the time I'm doing it but they look at that and I'm
16:32
sure they look at it and say oh engagement is low we don't have to invest as much resources in it
16:37
and the next thing but then the next thing winds up like there's a one percent chance to get a
16:41
capybara that sits on your head or something like that and then every player in in the world goes
16:46
i need that capybara pepe needs a friend let's go and then it just bogs down the server so like
16:52
it's hard to gauge and i i give them credit for that backpack is staring at you right now but i
16:58
almost but i would almost rather that they over uh like assumed like engagement and then scaled
17:05
back resources afterwards because i mean that's kind of how we do it in the rest of the software
17:10
world i don't know the viability of it i'd love to get a developer uh from blizzard on here to
17:15
talk about some of their process with that if they're ever allowed hey you guys are listening
17:18
come on talk to us about this i'd love to pick your brain about um but yeah i don't know i mean
17:24
it's always a case of you know it's always impossible to predict what is going to become
17:29
the beloved thing um you spend a lot of time and effort on the very fact that peppy took off
17:35
i didn't i didn't know what the heck pepe was and everyone's like oh did you get the new one i'm
17:39
like what are you guys talking about a bird you wear on your head and the most popular the most
17:44
popular Pepe gif of all time was created by our dearly departed race. Yeah, and it just was something
17:50
a little bad. It was just something that took off, you know what I mean
17:53
It was like one person wanted to put this in the game
17:58
and worked on it and got it ready and then boom, it was everywhere and
18:01
everyone loved it. You know, it's hard to know what thing are we doing that's going to make people
18:07
love us? Are they going to come out for the Tonka soup
18:12
Yes, in huge amounts. Really? The soup? Yes! Oh, okay. What about this
18:17
new combat system? No, no. But if you had Pepe with some soup
18:21
I don't know. Maybe. That chef knew my name, and he told
18:25
me to do things, and I had to say yes, chef. And the bear was really big right then
18:29
so, you know, checks a lot of boxes. But we should talk a little bit
18:33
about patch 12.0.7 because it doesn't have a release date as of this recording, but..
18:40
You know, that just means they're going to announce a release date tomorrow. we actually yeah yeah yeah they could be they could be announced to get right this second as
18:50
we're recording um but currently as we're recording no release date however uh it is currently been
18:57
really listed as a release candidate so the current um ptr is a release candidate which basically
19:03
means we think this is ready to go but we want to make sure it's ready to go so please find the bugs
19:09
before we release this and then they show up. We would like you to find them now
19:14
According to this, the current guess that we've got going is June 16th
19:18
That makes sense to me. It seems like a reasonable time for it. But we don't know
19:24
Could be later. Could be earlier. At this point, though, earlier. Earlier is unlikely, but it's got to be June
19:34
It has to be June. There's no way it doesn't come out in June. It just seems ridiculous to imagine they're not going to do in June
19:40
So yeah, especially since the release candidate. So we will see, but thought we should mention that
19:45
because if you are tired of waiting for it, this is when it is on its way
19:51
There are a lot of nice little quality of life improvements here. So yeah, this is going to be, it's a good patch
19:57
It's a good patch. Also should mention this one's for World of Warcraft Classic
20:02
Not a big deal. Just Phase 5 for Mr. Pandora Classic is live
20:06
and the Siege of Orgrimmar is going to be opening on June 4th, which is
20:11
on a Thursday. So that's pretty much just it. We're going to get the new raid in
20:17
Mists of Pandaria Classic. It's a good raid. We talked last week
20:21
for a very long time about the problems that that raid had that are not the raid's fault
20:27
They were the fault of release schedules and so forth. Hopefully people will get a lot
20:31
of fun out of it, but regardless, June 4th, if you guys have been waiting in Mists of Pandaria
20:35
Classic to go do some raiding, it's available to you. The first couple of bosses are really fun
20:41
If you're a horde, you're just going to feel weird. Get to the middle point, you're going to feel weird
20:45
Raiding your own city. We saw that. They put out a trailer today for it
20:50
And they gave only like a couple seconds per boss. But I still got nostalgic
20:55
Even though I spent entire days raiding that raid during content. But I still missed it a little bit, you know
21:02
And how great is the voice actor for Garrosh? Like, you can hate Garrosh
21:06
but at no point is he a bad voice actor. He's so good at being like the head orc in charge
21:11
that you also really want to punch in the face. Yeah, I still recognize him
21:16
Like when I hear him as somebody else, my head perks up immediately. Ah, it's Garrosh
21:21
Oh, okay. But yeah, no, absolutely. Good raid, good expansion. Unfortunately, spending a year and a half in there
21:29
didn't help everyone love it. But now this one's going to be us
21:33
finding out about the Hearthstone expansion. Escape from Violet Hold, which is coming in July
21:38
July 7th. I can't quite read that. Yes, 7th. And so I'm going to ask, we're getting Vanessa Van Cleef available now
21:46
Right now? As we're talking about this, you can play Vanessa Van Cleef
21:51
Liz, do you know? I am not 100% sure. Is she? But another one we're getting is Maiev as a playable hero
22:02
which is a quest that's going to come up next week that you can complete and earn Maiev
22:11
And fortunately, Anna is telling me that, yes, you can already get Vanessa Van Cleef in-game and play her as a hero
22:21
Should you You know if you want such a thing I don know Maybe I mean you told me about Maiev and and i completely forgot about vanessa i sorry i a mean person but there only one other person who they could have mentioned
22:38
i'd be like i might have to play hearthstone and they luckily didn't mention her wow i got
22:43
vanessa van cleef in my game right this very second oh crazy um uh so yes new expansion kind
22:50
of, Hearthstone is very cyclical and produces really predictable expansions with, you know
22:58
you kind of know what you're getting into. We're going to get 135 new cards to collect, and this expansion is a Violet Hold theme with
23:07
Escape from the Violet Hold. Yeah, I do love Hearthstone expansions that have really strong, great themes
23:15
I think it's at its most fun when it's doing kind of crazy Warcraft things, crazy Warcraft AUs that have really cool art and card concepts that all sort of draw off the main game
23:31
I always think it's really, really fun when it goes in that particular direction
23:36
But there are some things that are live already. Of course, you can pre-order the expansion right now or when it releases in July, you'll be able to buy card packs with gold and pick things up that-a-way
23:50
But we are also getting some Battlegrounds changes. This is our mid-season Battlegrounds Pass, which is adding anomalies
23:58
Anomalies are kind of just sort of tweaks to the game that spawn at the beginning of each game and just sort of change up gameplay
24:07
Those are really fun just because it makes the game a little different each time
24:13
So, and then one, I don't know. It's either going to be, I've got a love-hate thing with this one
24:21
We're getting an exciting new Hearthstone pet, which is going to be available starting next week
24:30
And it's a gotcha game. It's that same gotcha game. They're adding a new pet with the gacha game where you get one spin to get the pet for free
24:40
And then they cost increasing amount of money up to 158 US dollars
24:47
Which you're probably going to have to spend if you want the pet. Someone else is going to have to check me on whether this is adorable or horrifying
24:57
It's a baby C'Thun. Horrify adorable? yeah it's it's a it's a tough one it's a it's a little purple tentacle monster and uh
25:08
like an eyeball pops out of its head occasionally and i think i think a baby yogg-saron would have
25:16
been a little cuter but i don't hate it i do love that one of its uh like battle board interactions
25:22
is you can spawn a portal and a bunch of like little tiny raiders will come and attack baby
25:28
C'Thun and you can click on baby C'Thun a bunch of times and it'll shoot lasers at the raid and
25:33
wipe the raid. I need to step in and point out that its name is actually C'Thun. I mean there's
25:42
there's in fact already a hero in battlegrounds I believe called C'Thun which if I'm playing
25:51
C'Thun I'm playing C'Thun I'm playing the C'Thun skin because it has two eyes obviously
25:57
obviously it's i think cute thun in battlegrounds is more adorable than this i'm sorry but it's just
26:05
more adorable and so that's that seems slightly fallen down on the game of making the most
26:13
adorable things ever in hearthstone because this is only the second most adorable version of cthun
26:18
i mean to be fair it's not the horrible cthun backpack that they try to get you to wear in
26:24
Diablo 4. Well, the Diablo 4 is aiming for horrifying, though. That's the goal
26:32
But it doesn't look horrifying in a terrifying nightmare monster way. It looks horrifying
26:36
in a, dude, you got some stuff on you. You need to get that cleaned off
26:41
I just, you know, not my thing. But regardless, it is the new
26:46
Hearthstone pet. Every time you mention the gotcha stuff, it's just like I
26:50
turn into that guy standing there staring at you for a while and just going, no
26:56
That's too many money. It's too much. Number two big. Do not like it
27:01
Just sell me the freaking thing. Put it on the store directly for a price. Just so I know
27:06
But they don't want to do that because they'll make less money overall
27:11
Exactly. That would feel better if they just put it in the store and even if it costs $50, it would be like, okay, this has a price
27:18
and either I want it $50 worth or I don't want it $50
27:22
worth. And that's it. That's it. That's the end of it. But it does have a price list
27:26
The price is $158. It's just some people may pay less than that
27:30
but only buy a little bit. You offer the RNG discount. The RNG discount
27:36
Don't we have enough RNG in this game? It's the balance a coin on this
27:42
lemon in the jar of water bar trick that, you know, if you balance that
27:46
coin, yeah, you'll get your next drink for free. But if you don't, you've given us five bucks
27:50
I've been complaining to Joe recently how in World of Warcraft my character is fully decked out in 6-6 hero pieces
28:00
are slightly more than 6-6 hero pieces, except for my ring, which is still a champion ring
28:05
because I got, like, the first week Mythic was open, I got my best-in-slot ring at champion level
28:14
and it's like, wow, this is the best thing ever. I have such, this is such a great start to the game
28:20
wow I'm doing so great on gear and that's like the last
28:25
ring I have gotten that was the beginning and the end of my
28:29
luck getting rings so I'm still wearing that champion ring plus a crafted ring but you can only
28:35
wear one crafted ring so I'm sitting here with this champion ring and it's like okay
28:42
I'm just I'm just gonna wear this forever I guess because I
28:48
well, I should say that I did run a Delve earlier and I got an Adventurer Ring
28:54
But as far as upgrade rings go, it's not been great. It's not been great
29:01
So trusting the RNG gods for getting things in game, RNG is fickle
29:09
It is fickle. Some days you're on top of the world and some days no
29:13
Definitely no. Yeah, it is. However, unless you have anything else to talk about with Hearthstone
29:19
I think we're going to move on to Diablo 4 because Patch 3.1 slash Season 14 got announced
29:25
and it's on the PTR as we are recording this. There's a lot of news to it
29:30
Some's really good. Some seem kind of weird. Some seem kind of bad. We're going to try to run through all this as, you know, relatively quickly as we can
29:38
Straight up, first one, the features are going to be focusing on the Pandemic Rupture
29:42
which is a world event and new monsters come through and there's realm walkers
29:48
Remember the big robot realm walkers. You remember those guys. They are coming back, but this time they're not the same
29:53
They're, they're kind of like just straight up bosses as opposed to the
29:57
the whole chase them fight. things get them to stop you know it now it's a straight up boss fight um it's kind of like the
30:05
it feels a little bit like um the fight that they had back in diablo 3 where you'd get drawn into
30:12
another dimension to fight a boss and then you'd leave but it's it's a little different than that
30:17
the realm walker you either have to do a nightmare dungeon or you have to beat the night walker
30:21
and you get a rupture affix on a portal that to take you to the death hole chamber which if you
30:27
don't remember the death toll chamber is the chamber you fought malthael in back in diablo 3
30:32
just straight up telling you that's what it is um and that's a dungeon and you go and you try to get
30:39
more rewards basically you fight something and get money yeah it's a little it's a little vague
30:43
on what this is except you can get there after defeating the realm walker or after doing uh
30:49
a nightmare dungeon with the appropriate ethics and it's just it's a little one room dungeon and
30:55
All they've said is you can do it for more rewards. And that you're fighting a Corrupted Reaper
31:00
which is, if you don't remember the Reapers, they are the guys in Diablo 3. The Corrupted Reaper is the new lair boss
31:07
So, yeah. The seasonal lair boss. He doesn't also show up in the Death Tool Chamber, I don't think
31:14
I don't think so. I think these are unrelated events. Regardless, if you play Diablo 3, you know, you got that
31:21
so just out of curiosity what do you think of the season theme matt i know you've been playing
31:26
a lot of diablo cory you've been playing a lot of diablo lately i well joe you've been playing a
31:30
lot of diablo do do you guys think this is interesting exciting love it hate it i mean
31:38
we'll wait to see it before i can make a total judgment on it i'm interested in why the reapers
31:43
are here and for that matter why are there still reapers um and what does this mean for
31:49
Malthiel possibly popping back up. Again, for context, for those that maybe don't know the story
31:55
and don't listen to Lower Watch, why don't you listen to Lower Watch? Anyway
31:59
Reapers are canonically angels who have lost their faith in the high end. So
32:05
Reapers being here is significant. They weren't just Malthiel's soldiers that went and killed
32:12
humans. They are, but they're literally a group of people that were
32:17
or angels that were disillusioned with the high heavens. Not quite fallen like Isuel, but not far off
32:25
I'm more interested just to see what the story is for it. Yeah, exactly. That's where I was going
32:30
Yeah, sorry. Go ahead. Oh, I'm agreeing with you. That's it. The thing is, the story of a Diablo 4 season
32:39
if it requires more than a sentence to summarize, that would be a shock
32:44
Diablo 4 seasons, there's a seasonal quest usually, but the story elements are limited
32:51
That has been the case. I'm not disputing it. But I would say that the fact that they're not putting in yet another you-get-special-powers mechanic is a different season
33:03
Let's see if it ends up being we just got nothing or if it's actually interesting
33:08
Yeah, they've kind of done even less than you get new powers
33:12
There's a world event with a boss and there's a new lair boss and that's kind of it
33:17
Mechanically, this does not seem like an interesting season. Blizzard has not promised a story campaign or a story of any kind
33:26
They've not even mentioned that. And I'm a little, okay, this is fine, I guess
33:36
I'm just going to have to start a new character and all I get is this one world event
33:42
Okay, guys. I mean, my enthusiasm level is, I'd say it's mid
33:48
Yeah, very mid. Also, one of the things they're adding that I actually am excited about is solo self-found mode
33:57
Because that's one where you play as a season character and you can just not group or trade or share a stash with any other character
34:05
you will have a stash for that one character. And that's it. So here's my question for that
34:11
Like, you can do that already. You can just never group with anyone. You can never see anyone
34:16
You can never trade with anyone. Is there a reason to do solo self-found
34:19
Is it going to increase drop chances by a percent even? I'm totally down to do it
34:24
Not that they've said. There is no press on this. So like I said, it is pretty much how I already play
34:32
I'm just mostly, the fact that you can't share a stash which means you can't do the thing I end up doing when I get bored
34:38
which is make a bunch of characters and then just send them the Whisperer caches
34:43
and pop them to level 70 while they're still hanging around in Kyovishad
34:48
trying to solve the mystery of Lilith, and then end up running through the whole place at level 70 with a ton of gear
34:55
that I got from my other characters because I can. That you won't be able to do
35:00
I'm not sure why. That's not a selling point to me. That's just, okay
35:05
so i i don't know how this is gonna go there will be specific leaderboards for solo self-found i
35:12
mean i think this is just a personal challenge and having it be a game mode um well they did
35:18
it in d3 kind of didn't they also do it in certain wow servers they had solo self-found
35:24
uh i think it's available in classic isn't it a an option classic or maybe maybe on specific
35:31
But I do remember we covered that. It's like three years ago now
35:38
But yeah, it's just you want an extra challenge. You can make a solo self-found character and just kind of enforce all of the soloing
35:47
That's just literally you cannot. There is no grouping. None. You cannot
35:53
So, yeah. And this is this isn't something that's specific to season 14
35:58
This will just be in the game. but it's for seasonal characters specifically
36:02
Yes. It's coming with patch 3.1. And then it'll be for every season after 14
36:08
So season 15. So you can also roll a solo self-found hardcore character
36:13
If you want, I would, I could not do a hardcore character
36:17
There are too many instant kill mechanics that sometimes you can't even
36:22
see on the ground. So yeah. Yeah. Yeah. but um we now have in addition to that they've changing the way mythic uniques work um and i
36:33
watched this three times so i'm gonna say what i thought based on what they said and then hopefully
36:38
one of you will explain the things that are confusing to me but mythic uniques are going
36:42
to basically allow any unique to roll as a mythic unique so if you currently have like um i figure
36:48
what's called the blade of crimson whatever that sword is uh you might just get it as you as a
36:52
mythic unique instead of as a just a regular unique or an ancestral unique mythic will just
36:56
become like a a rank of unique and you can get that with any unique that currently drops or you
37:02
can go to the project cube and you can upgrade your uniques to mythic uniques uh using the recipe
37:08
that will be there i mean i'm assuming that their recipe will be findable on the side sometimes they
37:14
don't do that sometimes they just don't tell you how to do it you have to work it out but regardless
37:17
grids yeah my problem with this is that they basically said that the current mythic uniques
37:23
which are different than the regular uniques will be like iconic uniques i can find anywhere where they say those are still going to drop They didn say they removing anything I think they still going to be there
37:36
And it's just that also, you know, also you can, also you can get this new stuff
37:42
Yeah. And keep in mind, this will allow you for one thing. It will allow you to get mythic uniques
37:48
Regardless of how many resplendent sparks you can get. I mean, the resplendent spark thing is really hold you back on a lot of that kind of stuff
37:54
um it will also i think it's a lot easier to get them now it's not a lot easier it is easier
38:01
but that's only because compared to what it was before where i was weeping and moaning now at
38:07
least bosses drop more like it i think the new torment system has made it so at higher levels
38:13
bosses drop more stuff that you know more mythics and even resplendent sparks inside treasure chests
38:18
and so forth it's been better especially now that i'm like torment nine torment eight torment nine
38:24
up, it starts to feel like it's a possibility, whereas before you had to not only be Torment 4, but pretty
38:30
deep in Torment 4. So, that's a positive. I just, I don't
38:36
I feel, I've been saying this all the time, they need more straight up
38:39
items in Diablo 4. Like, there's one unique axe, like two-handed axe. There's one unique two-handed
38:48
sword per class. I think, and they made one for paladins that's different than the one for
38:54
barbarians and and necromancers have different ones as well but still you end up with one for
38:59
your class if you want to use a two-handed sword it's this whether or not it works for your spec
39:05
like if you want to i mean unique then either you don't you just use a an ancestral legendary
39:11
and call it a day i feel like there should be more of them and so i don't mind making the
39:17
mythic uniques if it means we're also going to have more options because you could now
39:21
like i have the grandfather because i don't want to use the the pillar of crimson because it is not
39:28
i do not want to use that build so the grandfather is a good all-purpose weapon but if you wanted to
39:34
use the two-handed axe you basically have to use the one that they have or you got nothing
39:38
so and also i've tried to make a pole arm like three times using the cube like you know how you
39:43
take something down all the way to like white quality using remove affects then you can use upgrades
39:51
Yeah, you can a totally random unique, which is it's more of the RNG machine
39:57
we've been talking about. Diablo has so much. There is no polearm. Despite the fact that there is a unique
40:03
polearm. There is. You just get it drops from a person in the game
40:07
and it's a specific story moment where you get that weapon and you can't get it any other way. You can't get
40:13
it in the cube. And I feel like if any weapon you have
40:17
should have a unique that you can upgrade. That's just my feeling. You don't have to agree with it
40:22
So I'm glad that they're doing stuff with uniques and mythic uniques
40:27
I like the idea of letting people take more into their own hands to get the, you know
40:32
I don't have the mythic I wanted in dropping, but I have a really good unique
40:36
and I'm going to make it mythic and I'm going to, I'll have something in that slot
40:40
That's good for progression. I think that's cool for people who are trying to get through some fights
40:44
that are really hard. I would have loved that when I was doing tier Torment 8 Lilith, who is a nightmare
40:52
Oh, I hated Torment 8. Go ahead. I think the thing about uniques is uniques aren't necessarily going to be an upgrade
40:59
They just aren't. Some uniques are going to be really great for your build and going to be maybe essential for your build
41:04
But it's not necessarily that every unique is going to be an upgrade. And the goal is not necessarily to put a unique in every slot
41:12
Because legendaries can be really strong and awesome. And sometimes they're going to be better than the uniques available
41:18
So, yeah, I don't feel so bad about not having a unique for every slot that's going to work for every build
41:26
That would be a lot. That would be so many uniques. Yeah, I just feel like, you know, had more stuff from different builds
41:35
I just feel like it dilutes the specialness of the purple mythics to make any unique
41:45
a mythic. I mean, maybe, but at this point, I'm wearing so many
41:49
mythic uniques that I don't feel the specialness anyway. My lunatic warlock build has
41:55
no mythics in it, and I keep seeing them drop, and I'm like, oh
41:59
that three greater affix mythic unique there would be cool if I could use it
42:03
I found a way to use most of them at this point
42:08
The two weapons... I think part of the problem, too, is that barbarians are extremely item-dependent
42:13
But that's because... I feel like that's a lot of the classes, though
42:17
Druid is the same. I think every class, you need the right gear
42:22
No, it's not that they don't have the right gear or whatever. Let me put it this way. You guys get
42:27
one or two weapons most. You might have a sword and a shield if you cast
42:33
can use shields or you might have one two hand weapon i think like druids get like a staff and
42:38
then like they can have an off hand and a and a one hand as well no barbarians barbarians class
42:45
ability is to use more weapons yes you get four and two of them are two-handed weapons so we get
42:51
six gem slots and once you start getting really good gems or using the right runes you can you
43:00
can put a lot in that area into a certain degree i feel like that kind of like skews it like having
43:06
three mythic weapons skews the stuff like it makes it more like i i know i overpowered some
43:13
fights just because i have so much life and mana regeneration or life on hit from these three
43:19
weapons i'm carrying around everywhere i'm not saying that that means we everyone should be
43:24
allowed to make everything mythic but at the same time i do feel like there's got to be a way that
43:29
other classes like my paladin i get a weapon i put it on him and i'm done like i i haven't really
43:35
even messed with the weapon says you're just all you're saying here is that barbarians are super op
43:41
that's all i'm hearing well they are nerfing a whole bunch of barbarian stuff in the next they
43:45
are so if you feel that barbarians are op don't worry they're being brought down to their terrible
43:51
level that they were in before um but you know i mean i do feel like to a certain degree some
43:57
classes are more gear dependent than others. And I'm not necessarily upset
44:01
about it. I just feel like it changes the way you play. Like if you're
44:05
if your stuff is all about a very specific build that you
44:09
don't want to deviate from you start getting locked in on oh I have to have
44:15
this for this. I have to have that. And you're right. Sometimes regular
44:19
old just ancient legendaries will do the job better for you because they fit
44:23
your build. Like you can customize there's a ring I'm wearing in
44:27
instead of a unique that is just a straight up ancient because you can put the, uh
44:32
apogee, um, apogee fury. Cause you, you want those, you want those aspects that you can get on normal legendaries that aren't on uniques
44:41
So you need those, you'll need those in your build. Yeah. I just only need like three of them
44:46
So everything else can be unique. Which is, which is an insanely small number
44:51
Yeah, it is. It's one of the weird things. Like I said, some gear, some classes are more gear specific They more gear reliant in that specific way you just talked about where you need specific affixes and you need a lot of them
45:05
You need to control them. Whereas I have to have boots with a certain thing and a ring with a certain
45:09
thing and I'm done. Like, I think I have the hat. No
45:14
not, no, I put a mythic on. Nevermind. I also have a mythic hat
45:18
I know I'm humble bragging. I know. But the point is, is I can do that
45:24
I don't think everybody could do that. A lot of classes would not be able to do that
45:28
That's true. I need way more legendary affixes than I have slots for
45:33
Yeah, it's interesting to see. I don't disagree with you, by the way, Corey, that it does kind of make it feel like, you know, mythic is just another color and not this rare special drop that happens
45:44
But if they keep the iconic mythics, then you don't have to worry
45:49
There'll still be weapons that are different. I hope they don't change them to legendaries, though
45:54
But also you can use that. We should also mention that there's the Herodric Cube and they've added other stuff to their Herodric Cube
46:01
Like there's updates for unique items. You can reroll stats on unique items
46:06
Go ahead. That's a thing with unique items that in patch 3.0, which was the Lord of Hatred patch, unique items could roll with anything
46:16
You know, they just have completely random stats on them. They used to have fixed stats
46:20
and they can roll with things that do not make sense um they can roll you know like i could get
46:28
a minion based unique that now rolls with plus three to blood spells and it's like okay thanks
46:35
i'm going to throw this directly in the trash because you also had no way to modify the things
46:41
that rolled on your new uniques like if you have a legendary yep yeah with a legendary you can swap
46:48
affixes and customize it. But with the unique, you can't customize it
46:52
But in the expansion, they made it so uniques roll completely random
46:58
They can roll stats that do not make sense for the kind of builds the unique is built for
47:05
So there is at least going to be some ways to customize your uniques with the Harajra
47:10
cube where you can reroll their stats. Right now, they're going to have focused reroll and chaotic reroll
47:15
So up to this point, I think the only thing they had was you could jam a bunch of, I think it's the three in one transformation where you can take three of the iconic of the and that just and them together
47:27
That just completely re-rolls it. You know, you get another set of random garbage that you don't
47:32
Or you might get you might get a worse one. Yeah, absolutely. I've done it
47:36
I know you do. You know, it's like you have four affixes on it and they can all be something different and worse
47:44
It does not necessarily like they. Yeah, it's a little annoying. It's a little annoying how much RNG that Diablo four has and how much they've added in the last patch where you can get really gear that's almost good enough
47:59
But it's rolled with such horrible stats that it's like, OK, I'm going to use an 850 instead of this 900 because this has such terrible stats and I'm going to have to
48:08
It's not enough to get a unique anymore. Yeah, you may have to get 20 uniques to find the right one
48:13
even a mythic yeah all the unique spawn with random stats and it's so much randomness with
48:19
no way to modify it so at least this is not this is great it's better than nothing like you still
48:26
can't take your new unique to the occultist and swap out affixes and things like that but at least
48:31
you have something and don't forget too that you get that perfect unique and then you transfigure
48:35
it and you don't get the transfiguration you want so you got to keep looking for your perfect unique
48:39
and transfiguring things can brick them, has a very high chance of bricking them
48:44
where you cannot modify them anymore in any way at all. So..
48:49
But definitely don't do that if you haven't taken it and gotten it boosted up to its maximum level
48:55
Yeah. Because if you didn't do that, now you just made it unmodifiable. You can't do that anymore
48:59
So yeah. It's actually very similar to that Angel patch season they had a little while ago
49:05
Yes. So that's annoying. But we do know that the tower and leaderboards
49:09
for it. They're going to be out of beta. Finally. In this season, season 14
49:15
they will no longer be in beta. There will be progression and rewards to earn. The
49:19
rewards are mostly cosmetic as far as I know. I don't think there's anything like..
49:23
I think you can get a chest with gear if you do
49:27
things. Go ahead. In the game right now, you can get gear caches by
49:33
doing the tower. The tower has been turning off and on, so the tower
49:39
is not always available right now. Yeah, like I haven't been able to do it because every time I go to do it
49:43
it's off. And then people are like, oh, it's back on. And then I log on and it's off again
49:47
And then it laughs at me. And there's season journey things to check off by doing tower levels
49:54
And you can't do that until the tower comes back. And it's really annoying seeing them sitting there
49:58
Yes, I have not actually gotten any of those done yet. But I will say
50:02
in addition to that, war plans are now going to allow you
50:05
to do co-op with a party. so if you've got a bunch of war plans
50:10
and people are like hey want to group up and you're like no I can't I have to do
50:13
my war plan you now can do them co-op I don't know exactly how that's going to work
50:19
so basically you basically you re-roll the war plan to be a co-op war plan and then
50:25
everyone in your party has the same war plan that you can work on together so
50:31
it's pretty cool if you like doing group content And yeah, it was kind of annoying that we have this big, great thing, war plans that are really great, fun way to play
50:41
But if you're going to do a party, you can't do them because everyone has their own war plan
50:47
So, yeah, it's great. But you will have to re-roll your current war plan to be a war plan for the whole group in order to do them together
50:54
And that has to be the party leader? Yes. I don't know. I believe it is the party leader
50:59
Yeah. And there's some kind of currency that might be involved, too, with re-rolling it. Yes, there is a currency, but it's..
51:05
I forget what it's called, but it's just a currency that you get. It's a currency that's already there, and you could use to re-roll war plans
51:13
If you got a layout that you just really hated, you could just re-roll it
51:17
But you get more of it every time you complete a war plan
51:22
So it's not, I don't think that's a big deal. I played for one night with my friends, and they were still kind of like
51:30
Oh, you haven't played yet, let's take you through some high-level stuff and get you some fancy gear
51:34
and in that like hour and a half two hours that i played with them we were like wait why can't we
51:40
play war plans together that's so dumb so i don't know how it made it to live without a way of playing
51:46
war plans with your party but hey at least they're fixing it in the very first season 50 days into
51:52
the into the expansion yeah i mean i think it was definitely a case of them just not realizing that
51:57
this would be something people would jump on to the level they have uh which i don't you know again
52:02
And it's the soup thing. This is such a core gameplay mechanic
52:06
We had to know people would do it. Yeah. I should mention really fast before we do this next one
52:12
The oval cap is increased to 25,000. Good. Yeah. I saw that one in the patch notes and I'm like, thank goodness
52:21
Because how many times have you gotten to the cap and not been able to pick any more up And it just like okay I going to huh I see that a nightmare dungeon is one of the ones where you will get mobile caches oval caches i don do it i cannot i cannot do anything
52:37
i'll be bumping in and out of this place i'll have to go back and spend all my obols and then
52:42
go back again and get new obols and then go spend them to have empty bags enough like enough space
52:51
Yeah, exactly. And did you know that if you spend all your obols in Temis, you're missing out on the chance for unique items
52:57
Because the unique items don't seem to appear from the obol vendor in Temis
53:01
You have to go back to Saragard. Or somewhere else that isn't the new content
53:07
I didn't know that, but I'm not surprised. So, yeah, that makes sense
53:12
Players are reporting that as a bug. I have not seen any official Blizzard comment on it
53:17
But yeah, I read about that after I'd spent, you know, tens of thousands of obols and temus
53:23
And I'm like, oh, oh, that's why I'm not getting anything exciting
53:29
OK, thanks. Thanks. Love it. I mean, I don't even pay attention to them because, again, I know there won't be anything unique
53:35
I've just literally been going, spending obols, taking anything I bought, even the ancestral stuff, to the blacksmith and turning it into chum
53:44
because I desperately need the ancestral only crafting materials. And it's like, you know
53:50
I've only got five things to put like sockets in my, my weapons
53:55
Oh no, no, no. I don't, I'm just like into the chum or you go
53:59
give, give me the dust. And my wife is like, I'm just imagining him going
54:02
but couldn't we give these weapons to other heroes in sanctuary? Like, look, buddy, I need my dust. Okay. So yeah
54:10
The oval cap is nice. I'm, I'm glad that. And I'm glad Corey just gave me that warning
54:14
And finally, when we're talking about Diablo, there's a Murloc pet that you can get by fishing in Diablo 4
54:22
Yeah. We should clarify, this is not a world of Warcraft of any version. This is in Diablo because he's just like this little Murloc
54:31
He's pretty standard, except that, you know, he's in, he's in Diablo 4 following you around
54:36
picking up the junk that you drop as you're mowing your way through demons. Or
54:40
you know, in the case of Liz, summoning enough undead people to just smash them into the ground, or Joe
54:46
with his army of bears and wolves. I don't know, Corey, what class are you playing? Warlock
54:52
So it's an army of demons. An army of demons, yes, of course. And also
54:56
that weird special effect where hands are coming out of the ground everywhere, and it's like
55:00
oh my god, I can't see. No, I've got the big demon that pops out of the ground and looks like he's
55:06
going na-na-na-na-na at enemies. Okay. Yeah, having him out makes me take less damage so i have lots of him out which covers the ground in red angry
55:14
circles it is it is but yes that's it for diablo 4 the murloc pet is like a 0.1 drop rate too like
55:22
you're going to be fishing for a long time you're going to complete all the fishing achievements
55:26
before you get this murloc pet also you'll be really lucky there are a lot of fishing achievements
55:31
there are and it's one thousandth chance not one hundred chance my bad one thousandth no it's point
55:38
one yeah just make sure everyone knows it's one in a thousand chance not one in a hundred chance
55:44
you you will be doing this for a while i hope you like fishing but at this point uh i'm going to ask
55:51
liz if you could do um the outro stuff so we can then maybe hit a couple of these other games before

59:43
And so now we're not parched. Thank you. I appreciate it. I took so much drinks
59:49
We're pretty much done, but I'm going to try and throw in. I'm actually going to say, Joe, you haven't gotten to talk all that much this show
59:55
Is there anything in the other games you want to talk about? I did want to mention that
1:00:00
It was very ironic that we were just talking about last week or the week before on this very show in news about the legacy of the Alan Wake universe and what would be coming in the future
1:00:12
And that there was going to be a refocus on the core IPs that make Alan, like Control and Alan Wake and everything
1:00:19
And the Control sequel that we know has been coming for a while finally got a gameplay trailer, not a gameplay trailer, but a trailer, cinematic trailer
1:00:27
as well as going up for pre-order literally today during the PlayStation
1:00:31
State of Play with a release date of September 24th, 2026. I literally
1:00:37
screamed when I saw that and especially when Control is one of my favorite games of all time
1:00:43
Top three. You get to play as Dylan Faden, the brother of the main character from the first game
1:00:51
which was integral to the story and how the Alien Week universe works
1:00:55
like it's super super cool and i'm super excited for it and then the other one well i'll mention
1:01:02
these two very very quickly uh we did get the first look at marvel marvel's wolverine game
1:01:07
done by insomnia games uh for uh the playstation 5 uh which will be a sony exclusive for x period of time uh it absolutely rated M It is everything you want a Wolverine game to look like
1:01:23
It seems like it's hitting all the notes, which honestly, it's an insomniac game
1:01:28
I'm not even remotely surprised at this point. And then last but not least
1:01:33
and probably one of the things I'm most excited about, we got information about the new God of War game
1:01:38
God of War Lofi, which is not about Kratos. it's about Lafay, Kratos' wife
1:01:44
who literally the game, at least the opening that they showed us in the
1:01:49
and I haven't watched the whole thing, because literally I was watching it right before we recorded
1:01:53
and it's a 23-minute gameplay reveal. It starts from the moment she is
1:01:59
if you haven't played the original God of War game, I'm sorry, I think we're past the spoiler point
1:02:04
but Kratos' wife is dead. You start the game right after the funeral
1:02:08
Here, it's literally taking place as she's being, you know, at her funeral pyre
1:02:13
And it's Debra Ann Wall is playing Lafayette, which I saw the mocap
1:02:19
Oh, that's so great. And I heard the voice and I literally screamed, is that Debra Ann Wall
1:02:23
I'm like, yes, it is. I recognize that face anywhere. It's been Debra Ann Wall the whole time
1:02:27
Yeah. She been the voice of it Yeah yeah yeah And a couple of scenes Yeah Like there at least one scene of you see Lafayette and it just Deborah Ann Wall Yeah but They just took Deborah Ann Wall and put her in the game Yes but It cool that she gets this whole thing now to actually show off the fact that she needs an address
1:02:44
Yeah, as the main character. And they're starting to branch on to other mythologies like we knew they were going to, and this one seems to be dealing with Buddhism, which is interesting
1:02:53
I valk at calling Buddhism mythology, because it is currently a very practiced religion with over a billion..
1:02:59
I understand that, but it is a very specific subset. While there is the religion of it, there's also the mythological aspects of it, which is what they're going into
1:03:08
Same as that there are mythological aspects of Christianity and everything else. Yeah, I know
1:03:13
I'm saying this for the folks at home, for the benefit of folks at home. I'm not being insensitive. It is literally, it's not going to teach you about the religion aside
1:03:19
It's going to be mythology, if that makes sense. Hopefully that. But I'm super excited for these
1:03:22
Like, I saw these and I just started losing my mind. PlayStation, for all of the bad they do
1:03:28
Sony has just got a banger of a lineup coming this year, apparently
1:03:32
I'm just surprised that the Wolverine game is actually coming out. I thought that was dead
1:03:37
Why would it be dead? No, they've been talking about it this whole time. Like the Black Panther game that was supposed to come out, but it's dead
1:03:42
Yeah, but that was in Insomniac. Sure. It's very hard. Insomniac very rarely drops again to the fairness In this economy it it and to be the black panther game i think was like skydance media or like their game branch or
1:03:59
something like that or and then i think it's it didn't actually get like canceled canceled it's
1:04:04
now like marvel 1943 which deals with like the rise of hydra like there's a whole bunch of weird
1:04:10
stuff going on with it but also it's not insomniac who literally sony and marvel are just like you
1:04:16
print money. Go do stuff. I'm interested to see it, but at this point, guys
1:04:20
we are going to call it because if we don't, the post show will be sometime at 8pm
1:04:24
as we're recording, and I need to be done before that. So, thank you guys
1:04:28
so much. Thank you, Corey, for being our special guest this week. Didn't even get a chance to bother you about any copium
1:04:34
this week, Corey. I'm sorry. I had a great copium bit lined up. Well, post show. Hey, there you go, guys
1:04:41
Thank you to Liz and Joe for making this show feasible and as good as it is
1:04:46
And thank you to all of you for being here and listening to us. So we have a reason to be making a podcast
1:04:52
Otherwise it just seems silly. This has been the Blizzard Watch Podcast and we'll be back next week
