Tavern Watch Plays See You Space Cowboy, episode 1: Wanted for possession of cryptocurrency
Apr 27, 2026
It's time for a brand new game on Tavern Watch, called See You Space Cowboy; this one takes place in a solar system that looks a lot like famous anime Cowboy Bebop's but with the serial numbers... well, not even filed off, just kinda smudged a little bit. If you're willing to get your hands dirty, talk to people who always know something for a cost, and hunt down some of the most notorious criminals this side of Ganymede, bounty hunting is definitely one way to make that big payday (and/or just pay the bills) However, in the universe of See You Space Cowboy, there's only one crime that rewards hunters for bringing in their prey dead rather than alive: possession of cryptocurrency and NFTs. So of course this ne'er-do-well is our target (and it doesn't hurt that he's a litterbug, either).
The band leader for these shenanigans is the enthusiastic and creative Joe Perez, and our motley crew of hunters is played by:
* Trish Olson as Kit Brooksfield, who's all brains, a little cool, and maybe some kind of hacker (but for all the right reasons!)
* Chris Chesno as Colt Sterling, a hard-smoking, hard-bitten hot dog and gunplay enthusiast
* Joan Albright as Veronia Graves, a former housewife whose bad run-in with the law now has her on a mission
* Liz Harper as Jin, who is definitely not the crew's kleptomaniac
* Phil Ulrich as Luke Navarro, a brick wall of a man who's ostensibly the ship's captain but mostly the team dad
This is the first in a three-part actual play series of See You Space Cowboy; watch for new episodes to come out every Monday! You can also pick up a copy of See You Space Cowboy yourself on Tidal Wave Games' itch.io page; it's only five American dollars to bring all this fun to your own table!
The intro and outro songs for this episode are both by Phat Phrog Studios; the intro is "Mech Imperium," while the outro is "The Pain Unwritten."

Hello and welcome to another wonderful
0:28
episode of Tavern. Watch plays and today
0:32
we are joining the wonderful
0:35
weird wacky universe well of universe
0:38
with our space fairing outlaws. Today we
0:41
are going to be playing CU Space Cowboy.
0:44
Uh one of my favorite replacement games
0:46
for Cowboy Bbop. Uh it is essentially
0:49
Cowboy Bbop with the serial numbers not
0:51
quite filed off more like smudged a
0:54
little bit but we love it anyway. Uh,
0:57
I'm going to be your storyteller slash
1:00
uh TV show host, uh, Joe Perez, and I've
1:04
got some wonderful, wonderful
1:05
personalities joining me on this journey
1:08
today. Uh, first up, she's known
1:10
everywhere on the internet as Awkwardish
1:11
Panda. I call her Trish. Why don't you
1:13
go ahead and introduce yourself and who
1:15
you're playing today?
1:16
>> Hi, that's me. Uh, I am Trish Olsson,
1:19
aka Awkwardish Panda. I am going to be
1:21
playing Kit Brooksfield today. She is uh
1:23
all brains a little cool and you know
1:27
she might be a hacker or something like
1:29
that.
1:31
>> Fantastic. Next up uh we call him Chris
1:35
here around the website. I know him as
1:37
uh a sort of flavorful chaos in every
1:39
game I play with them. Why don't you go
1:41
ahead and introduce yourself and who
1:42
you're playing today. Howdy, Joe. Uh, so
1:46
I am playing Colt Sterling and uh for
1:48
those of you who don't know me, I am
1:51
Chris from the Blizzard Watch site
1:52
writing about all sorts of Diablo and
1:54
Warcraft stuff. But today uh you are
1:58
dealing with Colt Sterling, the uh wiry
2:02
thin uh scarred former syndicate member
2:06
who has a background that nobody knows
2:08
about and may or not be wearing a Sears
2:11
sucker suit. Who knows?
2:14
Uh, next up, she is a wonderful
2:16
wordssmith and has been on the site for
2:18
a while. And, uh, joins us now in our
2:20
let's plays. Uh, Joan, who are you and,
2:22
uh, what are you going to be playing?
2:25
>> I'm Joan Albbright. I'm going to be
2:27
playing Verona Graves. Um, she used to
2:30
be a housewife until she had some
2:33
run-ins with really bad cops and now
2:37
she's on a mission.
2:40
And that mission will likely be tangled
2:42
up with whatever we're doing today
2:43
because
2:45
uh also joining us on this is uh well
2:48
she's kind of my boss here on the site
2:50
and uh is also there. The grumbles. The
2:53
grumbles right there. Uh you never you
2:56
can never mistake how she's feeling
2:58
about anything that's happening in game
2:59
and I love her for it. Uh Liz Harper.
3:02
>> Uh hello. I am playing Jyn. Jyn does not
3:05
have a last name. She's just Jen. She's
3:08
she's here. This is fine. Uh she's she's
3:12
out bounty hunting because you gota you
3:13
got to eat for something. You gota you
3:15
got to have money to do things to exist
3:17
apparently. Uh but really she'd rather
3:20
be out stealing shiny things. She does
3:22
that a little on the side anyway cuz
3:24
sometimes things are just too shiny and
3:26
attractive to leave. Uh yeah, she's
3:30
here. This is this is fine. Everything's
3:32
fine here. Yeah.
3:33
>> I mean, you got to pay the bills
3:34
somehow. Uh and filling out our crew
3:37
here. Uh the probably the uh unwitting
3:43
uh sort of dad of the group I think is
3:46
going to wind up what usually happens
3:47
when he's here uh is Phil. Phil, who are
3:49
you and who are you playing?
3:51
>> It's me. I'm Philick, Blizzard Watch's
3:53
second favorite, Phil. And I am playing
3:54
Luke Navaro, who is a uh 6'4 built like
3:58
a brick outhouse X minor with some
4:00
obvious cybernetics and who is bounty
4:02
hunting to make money to pay off his
4:04
medical debts. Also, hypothetically, I
4:07
think I'm the captain of the ship. So,
4:09
yeah, big dead big dad energy, I guess.
4:12
Well, friends, the universe of CU Space
4:15
Cowboy does actually take place in,
4:17
well, our universe, uh, star systems
4:20
and, uh, planets and planettoids that
4:22
you may know and recognize, such as, you
4:24
know, Earth, Mars, Venus. Uh, but there
4:27
are several other ones that are new.
4:29
they are either satellites or
4:31
established uh colonies or or things of
4:34
that nature, space stations that have
4:36
grown into almost planettoid status. Uh
4:39
one of the main ones of this is a place
4:42
called seriesir. Uh series is not a very
4:45
large planet, but it is considered the
4:47
sixth in the solar rings from the center
4:50
of the universe. Uh it's about the size
4:53
of a modern-day Europe. It is almost
4:55
completely covered in cityscape. Uh and
4:58
what is not cityscape is questionable
5:00
and probably shouldn't go there anyway.
5:02
Uh these skyscrapers stretch so high
5:04
that when the short 4-hour day cycle
5:07
occurs, it is difficult even to see that
5:10
sunlight and a full day on series is
5:12
only 9 hours long. Uh it is perpetually
5:15
lit up by neon lights. Uh and it is
5:18
truly the planet that never sleeps as a
5:20
result of both the fact that it is
5:22
perpetually lit by neon lights and that
5:23
a day is only 9 hours. Uh crime is
5:27
rampant in some of the districts and
5:29
there are plenty of smalltime bounties
5:31
to nab. Uh in reality, this means that a
5:35
lot of beginning bounty hunters or
5:37
bounty hunters that are looking for
5:38
maybe some lower threat bounties uh are
5:42
going to start their time on serious
5:43
because there's easy things to nab here.
5:46
Crime is rampant. Like I said, the
5:48
police are ineffectual. Uh they
5:51
basically they're there maybe kind of
5:54
some days. Uh but that's where you guys
5:58
come in. Uh you're going to be sitting
6:00
here in I'm going to assume on the ship,
6:03
but you guys can start pretty much in
6:04
any other location you want if you so
6:07
choose. Um but generally people tend to
6:10
hang out on the on their ship on when
6:12
they're not actively going somewhere
6:13
inside of the city. So I'll leave it to
6:15
you before we get started with the
6:17
actual bounty of today. What do you guys
6:21
do in your downtime on series?
6:27
>> I'm pretty sure Kit is like in the
6:30
messaul, feet on the table, laptop in
6:33
her lap, just tip tapping away, and
6:35
she's got like container of takeout
6:38
noodles and she's just stuffing her face
6:39
and combing the internet.
6:42
>> Fantastic.
6:45
Anybody else? Uh uh Jyn has recently
6:49
acquired like a bunch of antique locks
6:53
that she's sitting with some in some
6:54
sort of hidden corner somewhere
6:57
picking them one by one.
7:00
I'm gonna say Colt is uh I mean he's
7:04
with the group but he's kind of off to
7:06
the side himself and smoking a cigarette
7:09
and eating probably the world's most
7:11
disgusting looking like absolutely
7:15
covered with every topping there was gas
7:18
station hot dog.
7:22
Those things are going to kill you. You
7:23
know that
7:26
>> could only be so lucky.
7:29
V is attempting a knitting tutorial. Not
7:32
doing great at it.
7:35
>> Oh god, I really really am the big dad
7:37
energy. I think Luke is doing the books.
7:40
I think it might just be his finances,
7:43
but I think he's basically saying, you
7:44
know, how long how long before we need
7:46
to take a job and how much does that job
7:47
need to pay? And the answer is probably
7:48
a lot and soon.
7:50
>> Yeah. So, that's about the time where
7:52
you start balancing those books and
7:53
realize uh you're not getting off this
7:56
planet unless you start taking another
7:57
bounty. you've uh you've paid off uh
7:59
your portion of the debt for this uh
8:02
week. You you've gotten as supplies as
8:05
you can, but you're low on fuel if you
8:07
want to go anywhere. Uh and honestly,
8:09
eating rations probably isn't the best
8:11
thing in the world. Uh and somebody may
8:13
or may not have shown an blown an
8:15
inordinate amount on gas station hot
8:17
dogs, uh which you did not budget for.
8:20
Uh, and it is about this time that
8:22
everybody's favorite show comes on, the
8:24
radio waves, the air, and the internet,
8:26
which is this week's bounties, uh, where
8:29
you're going to be basically shown what
8:32
is available for your bounty needs. Uh,
8:36
and this week, outlaws, you have a
8:38
favorite of everybody's hunts, uh, which
8:42
is, well, I guess let me back up and
8:45
explain this a little bit. in the
8:47
universe of CU space cowboy. Um there
8:50
are a few things that are absolutely
8:52
highly illegal in the universe. Uh and
8:55
two of them which are worse than almost
8:58
anything on any other market are
9:00
cryptocurrency and NFTTS. Uh possession
9:03
and and of them and trade of them puts
9:05
you on a very special bounty list. And
9:08
you will all know this because every
9:10
every new outlaw knows this. It is the
9:13
one instance where you get more money if
9:15
they are brought in dead than alive. Um,
9:18
and it's this point where the radio
9:20
show, TV show, and internet pops on
9:23
that, well, welcome outlaws. We have
9:25
ourselves a new bounty for you to pursue
9:27
today. Uh, in today's well, bad doers
9:32
and noo wells, we have a realy scum for
9:35
you to try to bring in and earn that
9:38
money. Uh, he goes by the name of NFT
9:41
Hound. Uh, nobody knows what his real
9:43
face looks like, but he definitely looks
9:45
like Goofy had maybe a little bit too
9:47
much of that blue crystal. Uh we've seen
9:51
him all over the place and he has been a
9:54
horrible offender of not just possession
9:56
of illegal and illegal distribution of
9:58
cryptocurrency, ownership of trade of
10:00
blockchain and we air quote that very
10:02
heavily friends elements as well as
10:05
littering cuz man on top of everything
10:07
else he's a litterbug. Go figure.
10:13
So you see this flash up on your screen.
10:15
Uh the information on here is
10:17
essentially that he is a state offender.
10:19
Uh he is worth a good 800 double
10:21
dollars. That is alive, which means that
10:23
he is worth triple that if dead. Um
10:27
yeah. Uh he also, and this is where I
10:30
believe Chris's character may have
10:32
possibly run into this person at least
10:34
once or twice on the series, they love
10:37
to hang out at Get It Mart, uh which is
10:39
essentially the CU Space Cowboys version
10:41
of 7-Eleven. uh they they frequent there
10:45
uh or various elements or various
10:48
various places. Uh but this seems like
10:50
probably the least dangerous threat that
10:52
you can possibly go after that has with
10:54
it the potential to give you just enough
10:56
double dollars to well not only get off
10:59
this rock if you so choose, but uh maybe
11:02
live a little comfortably for at least a
11:03
few weeks.
11:05
Kit is already like typing like wild
11:09
into their computer just looking for
11:12
information.
11:14
>> All right. Well, we're gonna we'll start
11:16
going down the the roles here in a
11:18
second. Uh but I want everybody to sort
11:20
of think about how they react in this.
11:23
So you you guys probably understand that
11:24
that Kit's already kneede in like a VR
11:27
helmet on the on the web trying to hunt
11:29
something down, but all of you get this
11:31
notification at the same time. Uh, so do
11:34
you talk amongst yourselves or what do
11:36
you do in this moment? So we know what
11:38
Kit's doing. Chris, what's your
11:39
character doing? What's Colt doing?
11:41
>> Uh, as it comes across and Colt's
11:44
watching it, it it's very much the um uh
11:48
Leonardo DiCaprio pointing at the screen
11:50
thing where he's just like,
11:55
but that's because there's still hot dog
11:57
in his mouth and a cigarette in his
11:59
mouth at the same time. and he's trying
12:01
to figure out,
12:02
>> do I swallow the hot dog?
12:05
>> Do do I what do I do? I have a mouth
12:08
full of food. And eventually he decides
12:10
he's going to swallow and swallows both
12:13
and then spits up the cigarette and
12:15
continues smoking it. I know that guy.
12:21
>> Wait, you
12:22
>> I appreciate this.
12:24
>> I've seen that guy.
12:28
He he he sometimes he bought the last
12:31
freaking hot dog.
12:34
He looks like he is the last freaking
12:36
hot dog.
12:39
>> Is that like a mask?
12:45
>> I I think so. I I don't know. Like I
12:50
Here's what I'm going to say. We run
12:52
into him, I'm shooting him.
12:56
>> Yeah. I think we're all shooting him.
13:00
>> That does seem like a pretty solid plan
13:04
as far as uh narr Wells go, especially
13:07
when you know he's worth uh triple what
13:09
he is alive. Uh so yeah. Um anything
13:13
else in this moment before we have Kit
13:15
do the first roll of the game?
13:17
>> Oo.
13:19
Jyn has just like appeared where
13:21
everyone else is and now she's sitting
13:23
like perched on the back of a chair. not
13:26
in the chair, but she's like perched
13:28
still. Uh still doing her little
13:30
lockpicking, but uh she glances over at
13:35
um Colt and says, "That's going to kill
13:38
you one day." And then just goes right
13:39
back to what she was doing.
13:40
>> That's what I told him.
13:43
>> Does he listen to you?
13:45
>> Oh, hell none of you listen to me.
13:49
>> Colt brushes back his hair at that
13:51
point. When he does that, I would like
13:53
to to say he brushes his hair back and
13:55
it exposes the right side of his face
13:58
which was covered by his hair and all
14:00
that side of his face is is basically a
14:03
massive burn and a scar
14:05
>> and he just
14:06
>> Can I just point out that your character
14:08
has the anime emo hair and I love it.
14:10
Thank you very much for this. You're
14:12
>> welcome. Um so so yeah, he just kind of
14:15
looks over at them and is like, "You
14:18
think I'm worried about that?
14:23
All right. Well, while this exchange is
14:24
going on, Kit, you are kneede in the
14:26
internet, and we are going to do what's
14:28
called a break. So, in CU Space Cowboy,
14:31
everybody has a level of dice as their
14:33
stats for each of their abilities.
14:36
Breaks are a role that are made against
14:38
that stat uh based off of what you're
14:41
trying to do. Uh there are various
14:43
things. If you've ever played a uh
14:46
Powered by the Apocalypse game or a
14:48
Blades in the Dark game, you will be
14:50
very familiar with how this type of
14:52
system works, which is what we're
14:53
working with here. Now, Kit, I imagine
14:56
that you're trying to do something along
14:57
the lines of hack the planet. Is that
14:59
correct?
15:00
>> Correct.
15:01
>> All right. So, what I need you to do is
15:03
you're going to tell me two things.
15:04
First, you're going to tell me what
15:05
specifically you are looking for, and
15:07
then we are going to go ahead and roll
15:09
afterwards. So, what what information
15:11
are you specifically looking for?
15:14
>> I am looking for potential places of
15:17
residence, especially now that we know
15:20
that he frequents the same place uh that
15:23
hot dogs get bought. I would assume he
15:26
lives close by to there. So, I'm trying
15:28
to look for a potential for where he
15:30
lives or operates out of in that area.
15:34
>> All right. Uh so, why don't you go ahead
15:36
and make me a hack the planet roll. is
15:38
going to be a brains check and I believe
15:40
Kit has a d12 in brains and I need you
15:42
to let me know what you roll on that.
15:44
>> All right, I rolled a one.
15:48
>> Well, I got some bad news and I've got
15:50
some good news. The good news is
15:52
>> very distracted watching a cigarette get
15:54
swallowed two feet in front of me.
15:56
>> The good news is you get to do something
15:58
uh that we get to explain to friends at
16:00
home. Uh friends, there's another thing
16:02
that happens here. Unlike the Power by
16:04
the Apocalypse games, uh where in in
16:07
Blades in the Dark where you mark
16:08
experience when you fail a role, instead
16:10
you get something called the juice. Uh
16:13
what the juice is is a resource. Think
16:15
of it almost like advantage in D and D.
16:17
Uh where you can expend that resource to
16:20
essentially gain advantage on a roll. in
16:22
CU Space Cowboy. Uh you can go ahead and
16:26
basically reroll whatever you just did
16:29
uh and add basically that role to the
16:33
previous role. It raises the minimum
16:35
difficulty of what you're doing. Uh but
16:38
it does give you another chance to
16:39
potentially succeed. So, okay, go ahead
16:42
and mark yourself a level of juice,
16:44
which uh if you have the the thing, you
16:46
just click the box and we should be good
16:47
there.
16:48
Mhm.
16:49
>> Uh you're hacking through and you're
16:51
going through and you you are being one
16:53
with the system and you are
16:55
unfortunately it takes you to the series
16:58
municipality systems which
17:01
unsurprisingly are fairly wellprotected
17:04
systems. you notice a little bit too
17:07
late uh as you you hit the access button
17:11
uh only to find the little tiny uh set
17:15
of resistors on your deck. Uh a few of
17:18
them just kind of like explode with the
17:19
feedback that winds up coming through.
17:22
You'll have to repair that and get those
17:24
replaced later. Um
17:26
>> that is the cost of failure in this
17:28
system is something you love gets taken
17:30
away from you. Fixable, but it's taken
17:32
away from you for now.
17:35
And you all see this. You all you all
17:36
see the puff of smoke coming off the
17:38
deck. And kid is it. What's Kit's
17:40
reaction to this?
17:41
>> I think she just slams the computer shut
17:44
and slams it down. I can't find
17:46
anything. And now my broken.
17:50
She just like starts getting really
17:51
really upset and like grabs a cigarette,
17:54
starts smoking it, like starts pacing
17:56
the room in circles like a lost puppy.
18:02
>> All right. That's what you guys see. How
18:03
do you react to this?
18:08
>> Stand up, stretch, and go. Well, I think
18:10
we might have to, you know, get intel
18:11
the oldfashioned way. Go outside and
18:13
talk to people.
18:16
>> We need to people.
18:21
>> All right. So, that is that is what uh
18:24
we we hear here. Is this what you're
18:26
going to do? Are you going to go out out
18:27
of the ship and where are you going to
18:28
head? Now, I should note that getit
18:30
marts are pretty much everywhere. Uh,
18:33
every district has at least one of them.
18:36
Uh, whether you're on the strip, the
18:37
mall, even Corpo Square has one. There's
18:40
one literally in the air dock, like
18:42
maybe three stalls down from where you
18:44
guys are. Uh, you could even go to the
18:46
slums and find several of them there.
18:48
Uh, so I
18:50
>> Well, where where did you see him, Gold?
18:54
>> Where did I see him?
18:57
I think I think
19:02
you know
19:05
I'm pretty sure it was in the slums. It
19:08
was like a couple weeks ago. But
19:12
oh where he kind of like leans back and
19:16
he's thinking about it like looking at
19:17
the ceiling kind of kicking his legs cuz
19:19
he's been like sitting on a table this
19:21
entire time cuz of course he has. Uh,
19:24
but as he's been thinking about it, he
19:26
suddenly shoots forward and he's like,
19:27
"You know what? I know a guy."
19:32
All right. And what is this guy we know?
19:35
So, it's a uh it's a local um local he
19:40
he's supposed to be a drug dealer, but
19:42
he's really not. Um he he's the guy you
19:46
knew in high school that was totally
19:48
selling marijuana, except for it was
19:49
just bags of, you know, oregano. Um,
19:53
this guy is someone Colt knows, but he
19:57
also tends to know the ins and outs of
19:59
the people that are uh weird in the
20:03
area.
20:05
All right, so we're going to go see
20:06
Matthew McConna is what I'm hearing.
20:07
Gotcha. Uh,
20:10
is everybody coming along with uh with
20:12
Colt at this one or what are you guys
20:14
doing?
20:16
>> Coming along.
20:17
>> I'll go with Colt to talk to his fake
20:18
plug. That sounds fine.
20:21
Might as well hang out.
20:24
>> All right, Colt. Does your plug have a
20:25
name?
20:28
>> H.
20:30
Yes, he does. And it is.
20:33
Uh, one moment, please.
20:37
>> It is. I need to roll on the D100 tables
20:39
in the back of this awesome book.
20:40
>> Oh, I I I love that. Yeah, that's the
20:42
other thing, too. The book is all about
20:43
in the- moment world building for the
20:45
characters, too. Like, that's part of
20:46
the game, which I really love. Uh, and
20:48
it does have a ton of handy uh quick
20:52
tables that you can roll against in
20:53
order to uh get your stuff, which is
20:56
great.
21:00
>> I'm trying to find that page in the
21:01
book. Hang on.
21:02
>> Sure.
21:02
>> It's page 31.
21:04
>> While we're doing that, while while
21:05
we're waiting for that kit, do you like
21:07
to try to repair your deck while we're
21:08
waiting?
21:09
>> Yes, please.
21:10
>> Why don't you go ahead and roll a fixed
21:12
stuff?
21:13
>> Okay. Fixed stuff is brains as well.
21:15
Yeah.
21:16
>> Yeah, it is. And I can add juice to
21:18
that, right? So I add that to my next
21:20
roll.
21:20
>> You after you make the roll, you choose
21:23
whether or not you use juice.
21:24
>> Okay, cool. Well, that was much better.
21:27
I rolled a 10.
21:28
>> That's perfectly fine. So that is
21:30
acceptable. Uh you succeed. Uh you are
21:33
able to repair it without any problem.
21:37
Your deck is now usable again.
21:40
>> Immediately calm down.
21:41
>> You put the factory smoke back into it.
21:43
I've never seen that before.
21:46
So, uh, the name of this, uh, contact
21:51
is
21:53
Thurber Mingus.
21:56
Uh, but he's known by the name Ghost
21:58
Maker.
22:00
That is the edge lordiest of high school
22:02
names I've ever heard, and it is
22:04
perfect. All right. Uh, so you guys can
22:07
go ahead and and and head off that way.
22:09
Uh we're going to go ahead and say uh
22:11
Ghost Maker here is probably set up in
22:13
the strip uh like most people. It's kind
22:16
of in the middle of everything. He's not
22:18
he's not well enough off to do to
22:19
pretend to be uh in Corpo Square or the
22:22
Series Mall and he's too proud of
22:24
himself to be in the slums. So you guys
22:26
can go ahead and head down to the strip.
22:28
Uh the strip is itself uh exactly what
22:31
you would kind of expect. It is a series
22:33
of a bunch of shops and uh walkways and
22:36
thoroughfares that are just alive with
22:39
bustling well life uh food stalls
22:43
galore. Um it is objectively clean. Um
22:49
there are not a lot of what we would
22:51
call I don't know trash like cans or or
22:56
disposal units. There's one every like
22:59
several hundred blocks of the city
23:02
because the expectation here in series
23:04
is not only will you not litter. Uh
23:07
you're going to take it with you. Uh and
23:09
you will dispose of it when you do find
23:11
a trash can or you will take it back to
23:12
your doicile or ship and get rid of it
23:14
yourself. Um, you do know that there is
23:16
a very heavy fine uh that immediately
23:19
lands you on the bounty uh sheet if you
23:22
do uh litter at all in in real life here
23:26
because it's that type of place. Um, you
23:29
can find your way over to uh Ghost
23:31
Makaker's uh little
23:33
we'll call it generously a booth. Um,
23:37
it's mostly him sitting at like a card
23:39
table with like a really cheap
23:41
tablecloth uh with a sign above him that
23:44
says information because he's not really
23:46
good at this whole like being chill
23:48
thing. Uh, and he's just kind of sitting
23:50
behind it in what is the ugliest widest
23:54
lapel like suit you've ever seen. Uh,
23:57
with glasses that are mismatched lenses,
24:00
hair that maybe was in style a 100 years
24:02
ago. uh just smoking two cigarettes at
24:06
the same time cuz what's cooler than one
24:07
cigarette? Two cigarettes. And he sees
24:10
you. Well, all right. Co, my man. What
24:13
can I do for you?
24:17
Hey, brother. You know, I just came down
24:19
here
24:21
cuz I need some, you know, information.
24:24
And as he's coming up to the table and
24:26
he's, you know, he's he's wearing a a
24:29
coat, but as he's, you know, trying to
24:32
to not not quite like I'm not quite
24:36
quite sure how to put this. He's not
24:38
trying to look like he's being
24:40
threatening, but he was former
24:42
syndicate. People know this. And as he
24:45
walks up, it's very clear he's not only
24:48
wearing Kevlar, he's got a fairly big
24:51
handgun that is uh pretty pronounced
24:53
under that coat. So, as he leans down on
24:56
the table in his like 6'4,
24:59
but really only like 140 lbs, so he's a
25:03
bean pole. He leans down real close and
25:07
then takes a cigarette out of his mouth
25:10
out of the other man's mouth and is
25:14
like, "So, what's that going to what's
25:16
that going to cost me here?" And without
25:19
even noticing, there's already another
25:21
one to replace the one that you've
25:22
taken. Um, well, I don't know, man.
25:25
That's going to depend on what kind of
25:26
information you're looking for. You know
25:28
how this works, big dog.
25:32
Looking for an ugly ugly ugly uh mask
25:36
wearing think it's a mask anyway. Uh
25:39
jerk that ate my hot dogs goes by the
25:43
name NFT hound.
25:46
And you see him, he looks and uh he
25:48
pulls his glasses down slightly and he
25:51
looks at you and he's like, "Oh, that's
25:53
real popular information as of about 10
25:56
minutes ago. What are you offering? I'll
25:59
give you 74 double dollars.
26:03
>> 100
26:05
70 and I don't shoot you in the leg.
26:09
120 and I don't throw this cigarette on
26:11
the ground and blame you.
26:13
>> I have a question.
26:15
>> Yep.
26:15
>> Do I Do So he keeps pulling out
26:18
cigarettes. Do I see where he has a pack
26:19
of cigarettes?
26:20
>> Uh there Well, you know what? Let's see
26:24
here. Why don't you
26:26
I guess that would be under read a
26:28
situation or gather intel. Kind of
26:31
either one I think would be applicable
26:33
here
26:36
>> cuz I I would like to if I see his pack
26:39
of cigarettes I'd like to I I would like
26:41
to take
26:41
>> trying to nick him. Yeah,
26:42
>> I would like to nick his cigarettes.
26:44
>> Let's let's go with uh let's go with
26:46
gather intel
26:49
which uh gather intel is a brains. Let's
26:51
see if you can see where his stash is.
26:54
Wait, where did that That is a six.
26:58
>> Uh, so that is Go ahead.
27:02
>> Which I I don't think that's good
27:04
enough, but uh here we will see.
27:07
>> Do you have anything that gives you any
27:09
benefit or bonuses to uh anything like
27:11
that? Do you have any gear or anything
27:13
that adds pluses or anything?
27:16
>> I don't think so. I have security system
27:19
knowledge, but unless it's in like a
27:20
lock box, I don't know that that would
27:23
help me.
27:24
>> Okay. You you you think you see where
27:27
the pack of cigarettes are coming from
27:29
in the like inner pocket of uh the the
27:32
jacket that he's got on. Uh you're
27:35
you're relatively confident in that.
27:43
>> Do I want to make a tricky situation
27:45
even worse? I do. I want to try and
27:47
steal them. I I want to try to like pick
27:50
his pocket.
27:52
>> All right. So, that is going to
27:56
>> I mean, I assume Colt kind of has him
27:59
distracted like they're having a
28:01
conversation here.
28:04
>> I think this is going to be a keep cool
28:06
under pressure. This is going to be a
28:07
cool. I think
28:09
>> if it's a cool roll, I don't want to do
28:11
it.
28:14
>> I think it's the only thing that fits.
28:16
Unless Unless you can justify something
28:18
else.
28:26
>> Liz, hold on one second. Let let I'm
28:29
going to give you an opportunity here
28:30
actually. Uh while while you're thinking
28:33
about that, uh as this is going on, uh
28:37
Colt kind of glances back because uh
28:39
Luke's with us, right?
28:41
>> I think everybody's unless otherwise.
28:43
>> Yeah.
28:44
>> Okay. Yeah. Uh Colt looks over his
28:46
shoulder at Luke and he's like, "Hey, uh
28:48
we're uh we're leaving this rock, right?
28:51
>> That's the plan."
28:54
>> At that point, he is drawing his gun. Uh
28:58
and and it's like pretty much under the
29:01
chin of our our our friend behind the
29:03
table.
29:06
>> Okay. Um
29:08
>> I'd prefer we left it without a bounty,
29:09
but okay.
29:12
Yeah, I think that's going to be a uh
29:15
that's either going to be a keep cool
29:16
under pressure or manipulate somebody.
29:20
>> Uh I can do either that those both work.
29:23
You you pick.
29:25
>> Uh you know what? Let's go with
29:26
manipulate someone.
29:28
>> Okay, go for it. Make Make that roll.
29:31
>> You You know I'm your chaos goblin.
29:33
That's why you me.
29:36
>> Oh, let's see. D10.
29:40
And that is a five.
29:42
>> All right. So, a five will be a mixed s
29:46
uh success. They they are kind of
29:49
he doesn't want to get his head blown
29:51
off, but he also wants to get paid. And
29:53
he knows that if he gets his head blown
29:54
off, you're going to suffer. So, it's
29:56
kind of a middle of the middle of the
29:58
road. And he smiles and he goes, "All
30:01
right, fine. I'll cut you a deal." 85
30:09
74. And again, I don't shoot you in the
30:13
leg.
30:14
I'm not the one that's going to have a
30:15
bounty on me when that happens, am I?
30:18
No, but you're going to bleed out on the
30:19
street. Yeah, I've been shot before.
30:23
>> Not by me.
30:25
We both know that's a lie.
30:28
Okay, that's true.
30:34
So, Liz, now now you uh have a wonderful
30:37
opening.
30:38
>> Well, no. If this is going to be if this
30:40
is going to be cool, I am not good at
30:42
being cool. I am ungood at being cool.
30:44
I'm good at being fast.
30:48
>> Well, I mean, we could also maybe
30:49
qualify this as a disarm someone other
30:52
under under uh moves
30:54
>> if that's higher for you.
30:56
>> Uh yes, everything is higher for me.
30:58
>> I think I think that's being generous. I
31:00
I think you can go for it.
31:04
>> That's an eight on a D8.
31:07
>> Uh I believe that is a Let me just
31:10
double check.
31:14
It's a success. I'm just seeing if it's
31:15
a mixed success. Uh yeah, it's a mixed
31:19
success. So you
31:21
you get a pack of cigarettes.
31:25
He knows you took a pack of cigarettes.
31:28
He has another pack of cigarettes.
31:31
>> Well, I tried.
31:34
>> And he turned he looks to call. He's
31:35
like
31:37
80 and the pack of cigarettes are free.
31:42
>> Oh, come on you guys. Fine. I'll cover
31:45
the rest.
31:45
>> Just giving the man his 80 double
31:47
dollars. This is ridiculous.
31:49
>> I'll pull out eight eight or however
31:52
many it was.
31:54
>> Yeah, split it with me. We'll go 4040
31:57
before Colt shoots somebody.
32:00
>> As as a note, as an out of character
32:02
note, Colt has literally $74 in his
32:05
wallet. That's all he has.
32:08
>> Holy crap, Dan.
32:10
You got to laugh the hot dogs.
32:13
>> All right.
32:14
>> Yeah, I'll put I'll pitch in six.
32:18
>> Six. Okay, I'll cover the other 74.
32:25
All right. He he uh the the the exchange
32:27
of double dollars is done and he uh he
32:30
looks at you, Colt, and pulls his
32:31
glasses back up. He's like, "You mind?"
32:34
Colt leans back and slowly holsters the
32:38
gun. Kind of just shrugs.
32:42
All right. Well, here's what I got for
32:43
you. Uh well, whenever you get a deal
32:47
with this guy, you didn't hear from me
32:48
because I don't know who he's who he's
32:50
dealing with. You know the routine. Uh,
32:53
so his real name is Joshua Barnes. A
32:56
real a real nerd of a guy. Uh, he's a
33:00
trust fund kid. He uses parents money to
33:02
get a whole bunch of JPEGs. Uh, mostly
33:04
at furries. Uh, and then he uses those
33:07
as his face. That's a that is a a a
33:10
holographic mask you guys are seeing
33:12
there.
33:13
Um, he's not real smart. He's I mean I
33:18
mean he's a crypto bro. He's not he's
33:20
not smart at all. Uh, and he hangs out
33:21
with a bunch of sickopants. Uh, two in
33:24
particular. He's got one that goes by
33:26
the name the normal one, which yeah,
33:29
that seems great. Uh, and another one
33:31
named Claudio. Um, they both got
33:33
bounties on their head, so you might be
33:35
able to double cash, triple cash in. Uh,
33:37
the normal one, he has a projector just
33:40
like uh the the Hound does, and he puts
33:42
regular people's faces onto his face
33:44
because he thinks it's funny. Uh, and
33:47
then,
33:49
uh, you got Claudio who, uh, well, if
33:52
you're familiar with old school 21st
33:55
century wrestling, there's a
33:56
professional wrestler named Clauddio
33:58
Castanoli. Uh, he basically projects
34:02
that with a question mark on his face
34:04
cuz he thinks it's edgy and cool.
34:07
Uh, and then there's one other guy that
34:09
he sometimes hangs around with, uh, who
34:12
goes by the name the Blade Backshi.
34:15
Uh, and he just basically projects Ralph
34:18
Baxshi animated film uh, characters onto
34:20
his face. Uh, and he really likes
34:23
knives, like a lot of knives. Like this
34:26
this is like strip mall kids. I will
34:29
tell you that I know that they hang out
34:31
at GetIt Mart, but I don't know which
34:34
one because they tend to sort of float
34:37
around. Um, but you should be able to go
34:40
there and find them. and he hands you
34:42
like a there's little like description
34:44
cards or or like head shot of the other
34:46
ones. Um the normal one in Blade Box you
34:49
obviously don't do anything for you. The
34:51
Claudio Casinoli one is just it
34:53
literally is Clauddio Casanol's face
34:55
with a giant question mark on it. Uh so
34:57
if you see somebody walking around with
34:58
a giant question mark on their face, you
35:00
found your guy. Um again, they're not
35:03
very smart.
35:06
>> Colt takes the takes the photos and like
35:08
looks at them and then he hands them
35:09
back to the others.
35:13
This is a weird bunch of little jerks.
35:15
How's nobody picked these kids up yet?
35:18
>> Because they're just crypto bros, man.
35:20
They they don't hurt anybody. And he
35:23
says that with like a question really
35:25
heavily emphasizing it. But they're just
35:27
really annoying. They also just kind of
35:29
like
35:30
>> Yeah,
35:30
>> they also just kind of keep them
35:31
themselves most of the time. They show
35:33
up every now and then and like go and do
35:36
stuff and then retreat back somewhere. I
35:38
don't know where. We don't know where
35:39
their hideout is, but
35:42
>> if you ask me and he kind of leans over
35:43
conspiratorally, I think they're still
35:45
living in their mother's basement. Get,
35:47
you know, that that's what I'm getting
35:48
at.
35:50
>> Yeah. Well, unfortunately, now they're
35:52
they're the level of annoying that's
35:53
worth money, I guess. So,
35:56
>> yeah, too many sad apes, I guess. Who
35:58
knows?
36:01
Well, that's all I got for you. Colt
36:03
pleasure as always, and I say that with
36:05
as much sarcasm as I can muster.
36:09
Yep. Yep. Well, hopefully we'll be out
36:12
of here and I won't have to deal with
36:13
you again.
36:14
>> And if not, hopefully you burn to death
36:16
in a glorious fire. Maybe we can one one
36:18
day one of us will get the our way. And
36:21
he smiles and shakes your hand.
36:23
>> Yep. It it's it's very much a um Colt is
36:26
smiling back, but it's all teeth. Oh,
36:29
yeah.
36:31
I think that the moment that the
36:33
handshake is done, he just hears a click
36:37
in his ear
36:40
as Kit goes to like
36:43
make sure her gun's not going to go off
36:46
cuz it was pointed at the back of his
36:47
head just in case.
36:51
>> He just smiles. He's used to it.
36:54
>> Mhm.
36:57
This is why you're not an information
36:59
broker in this kind of world.
37:01
>> Reholsters it and follows everybody
37:04
else.
37:07
>> Big German Shepherd energy.
37:11
>> All right. So, you guys have a couple
37:12
different places that you could possibly
37:14
go to find uh a a uh get it Mart. There
37:18
is one here in the strip. Like I said,
37:20
there's one in the mall. There's several
37:22
in the slums. Uh there's one in back in
37:24
the airport. There's one over in Corpo
37:26
Square. Uh, where would you like to head
37:29
off and and head there first?
37:33
>> Um, how many of them are wonder where
37:36
he's where we saw him or where
37:40
Colt saw him?
37:42
>> Well, that's the that's the rub. Colt
37:44
has frequented all of these at some
37:46
point here on series.
37:47
>> So, Colt Colt remembering which one is
37:50
the problem, which is why you came here
37:52
in the first place. I'm going to ask
37:53
every GM's favorite question. Should we
37:55
split up?
37:56
>> That's what I was gonna I was just about
37:58
to ask.
37:58
>> Should we go st out a bunch of different
37:59
get it marts? Yeah,
38:00
>> that's kind of what I think is we all go
38:02
pick one and stake out and chill and get
38:04
on comms if we see one of these
38:06
[ __ ]
38:07
>> I like it.
38:08
>> I don't like basement dweller crypto
38:10
bros.
38:12
>> Yeah, you can split up and if that's
38:14
what you want to do, uh it is highly
38:17
discouraged in the game for splitting
38:19
up.
38:20
>> Uh
38:20
>> that's what they call
38:22
That's what they call a hint.
38:26
>> Um,
38:27
>> but do we want to listen to the hint?
38:31
>> What if we got like some uh
38:34
>> little portable cameras and just set
38:35
them up at all the locations?
38:38
>> What if
38:39
>> Well, that's no fun. But I think that
38:42
>> What does the thief think? Because the
38:43
thief might have better instincts.
38:46
>> This does seem like the the get it marts
38:48
might already have a security system
38:50
with cameras.
38:52
Perhaps we could access this security
38:55
system with cameras and scan for people
38:58
in weird masks.
38:59
>> Would I know that they had security
39:02
cameras or no?
39:03
>> Oh, yeah. No, every every business here
39:06
has some form of security camera system.
39:07
That is a given.
39:08
>> Is there like an alley or something?
39:11
>> Uh,
39:12
>> I have a hacking tool that I could do
39:14
this with, but I think Kit's going to be
39:16
better at the computer stuff.
39:18
Uh, you absolutely can try if you want
39:20
to just kind of duck off into an alley.
39:22
Um, the there may be other ways that you
39:26
could do this, but you can definitely
39:28
try that.
39:30
>> Anybody else got any better ideas? Or
39:32
I'm going to go pop my laptop open and
39:34
see if we can find some more info.
39:37
>> Yeah, just don't blow it up this time.
39:40
>> I I will helpfully fan the laptop to
39:42
make sure it doesn't overheat this time.
39:43
Oh,
39:46
>> all right. Go ahead and make that hack
39:47
the planet roll.
39:48
>> All right. Uh, which of my dice don't
39:51
scare me right now. Uh, you do, but
39:54
we're going to roll you anyway because
39:55
I'm afraid of all of you today.
39:58
>> Well, that was good. It was a 10.
40:01
>> All right. Well, a 10 is a success. You
40:03
are in. Uh, and you see that as you
40:07
start going through the footage of the
40:09
several uh, last several weeks worth or
40:12
um, again days here are really short.
40:14
They're only nine hours. So, uh, the
40:17
time passes and I'm going to air quote
40:20
quickly here. Uh, but it seems like
40:24
maybe
40:26
what is it? Uh they kind of every two
40:31
weeks or so show up at one of the get it
40:34
marts, load up on a bunch of stuff. Uh
40:38
looks like they harass whatever clerk is
40:40
working there at the time. Uh and you
40:43
can't see if they pay or don't pay. Uh
40:45
but then they definitely leave and it's
40:47
all of them. All four of them show up at
40:49
the same time. Um, and as you watch the
40:52
videos, uh, you see them drive up in
40:55
what is very clearly a cyber truck, uh,
40:59
and then drive off in said cyber truck,
41:01
usually knocking something over, hitting
41:03
a couple cars, and then moving on their
41:05
way.
41:06
>> These guys are screwed. This is
41:09
>> Yeah, they really are.
41:10
>> That truck is ugly, man.
41:13
>> Narrator voice, there's a reason I chose
41:15
this adventure.
41:17
>> I I I do not like them. I mean, the
41:19
bounty is nice, but I just I don't like
41:22
these guys, and I want to hurt them.
41:27
>> I mean, they're worth more dead than
41:28
alive. I'm here for hurting them.
41:31
>> All of Are all of them worth more dead
41:32
than alive or just the one guy?
41:35
>> Every single one of them.
41:37
>> All right.
41:40
>> What if we just find the truck?
41:43
that would possibly require you to get
41:46
into the municipal system again, which
41:49
does not seem worthwhile.
41:54
>> So, I'm going to go ahead and throw this
41:57
out there. There is something very
41:58
obvious that you guys could potentially
42:00
do that you have not done yet.
42:03
>> You could just go talk to one of the
42:05
clerks.
42:07
>> That's true.
42:09
The these these look like memorable the
42:12
these look like memorable encounters
42:14
that they might
42:16
>> have something to say about.
42:19
>> Someone else has to do the talking
42:20
though.
42:21
>> I'll do it.
42:23
>> All right. So, which uh you're going to
42:26
want you're on the strip. Do you want to
42:29
just go into the mart then?
42:31
>> Yeah.
42:33
Like I'm shopping.
42:35
>> All right.
42:37
Well, yeah. You you walk in, you get the
42:39
the door chime. Uh, get it Mart is a
42:43
weird but wonderful place. It is a for a
42:47
real world equivalent, think of it as a
42:49
cross between uh 7-Eleven and Bies. Uh,
42:53
it has a little bit of everything. Do
42:55
you want a firearm that costs less than
42:57
$100 double dollars? You got it here. Do
42:59
you want drugs? You got drugs here. Do
43:02
you want alcohol? You got alcohol here.
43:04
uh you want need a change of clothing,
43:07
there are random suit capsules that you
43:09
can buy or dress capsules or whatever.
43:11
If it's under a hundred double dollars,
43:13
you can buy it here in in Get It Mart.
43:16
Uh it is literally made to be the
43:19
ultimate skezy convenience place that
43:21
you can possibly go to. And you see
43:23
there's just a rather bored clerk behind
43:25
what is uh probably should be encased in
43:28
bulletproof glass, but he looks like
43:29
he's just reading a magazine
43:32
just kind of waiting for people to walk
43:34
up to the counter. All right, I'mma pick
43:36
up a bag of chips and a soda,
43:40
go up to the counter,
43:42
set them down,
43:44
and then uh pull out a picture of of one
43:48
of these guys and say, "Hey, I'm looking
43:52
for these losers."
43:55
>> And he sort of eyes you a little bit,
43:59
narrows.
44:01
Uh, this is going to be a we're going to
44:03
h it's either going to be a gather intel
44:07
or or a manipulate somebody. Whichever
44:09
one you have a better die in.
44:12
>> Uh, I think it's the same. So,
44:17
pull out my d12.
44:22
Woohoo.
44:23
Max roll.
44:26
>> All right. So, you also have another
44:27
mechanic that happens in this game. When
44:29
you roll your max roll in CU Space
44:31
Cowboy, you don't blow up. Your dice
44:33
doesn't explode or anything like that.
44:35
Um, but you do get a juice as if you
44:38
just as if you would have failed. Uh,
44:40
doing very very good also rewards you.
44:42
So, you can go ahead and mark yourself a
44:44
juice uh for use at a future time.
44:48
Uh, and he looks at you and he says,
44:51
"Yeah, they uh they they come in here
44:53
every like three days or so. I don't
44:56
like them. I really don't like them. Are
44:59
you Are you
45:01
Are you Are you trying to And he leans
45:04
over. He's like, "Are you going to kill
45:06
them?"
45:07
>> Why would I do that? No, I think they
45:10
know where my loser
45:12
um
45:14
Sorry.
45:16
I think they know where my my loser uh
45:20
brother-in-law went.
45:23
>> Oh. M and he looks really disheartened
45:25
when you say you're not going to kill
45:26
them. Um well yeah they they come in
45:29
every 3 days and they they buy a bunch
45:31
of sandwiches and I'm and he air quotes
45:34
the word buy a bunch of sandwich and
45:36
from the automated machine and he points
45:38
over at the vending machine in the
45:39
corner.
45:40
>> Not even the readymade food in like the
45:43
carousel in the middle of the market.
45:45
They they get it out of the the dang
45:47
vending machine. That should tell you
45:48
everything you need to know about these
45:50
type of people. Um, and he says, "They
45:53
never pay in cash, though. They he
45:54
always keep trying to get me to accept
45:56
crypto. I can't I I Nobody wants it.
45:59
It's illegal. I can't I can't accept
46:01
that.
46:02
>> Highly illegal. I guess someone should
46:04
shoot them, shouldn't they?"
46:06
>> And he he nods enthusiastically as you
46:09
say that. Um, and he he even actually
46:11
goes around he pulls up like the the
46:13
security feed. He's like, "They were in
46:14
here 3 days ago. He wouldn't leave me
46:16
alone. He took my hat." And it's one of
46:18
those little like tiny like old school
46:20
1950s paper hats that like the clerks
46:22
would wear at like the soda jerk shops.
46:24
It's like I mean it's not a nice hat,
46:27
but it's my hat. They took it.
46:30
>> I'm I'll be sure to keep out an eye out
46:32
for your hat if I find them. So they're
46:34
about due then, huh?
46:36
>> He looks uh he looks at it and you look
46:38
at the the date and time stamp on the
46:40
video. Uh it has been about three days,
46:42
so they should be relatively coming in
46:44
soon.
46:46
>> All right. I think
46:48
>> so. I would like to say that in the
46:51
middle of this exchange, uh, were this a
46:54
a TV show and the camera shifted a
46:56
little bit over the shoulder, you have
46:58
Colt in the background who is just
47:00
mowing on another hot dog, but when the
47:03
question of are you going to kill him,
47:06
he just like puts a thumbs up in the
47:07
air.
47:09
I You know what? Let's uh let's see if
47:11
the clerk notices. I want you to roll a
47:18
What is this going to be? I think this
47:20
is going to be under cool. We're going
47:21
to say read a situation. I think that I
47:23
think that fits. All right. Cool. Uh
47:26
let's see here. Read a situation.
47:29
Where did my detail go? There it is.
47:36
Nine.
47:37
That is a success. Uh the clerk notices
47:41
and smiles ear to ear uh and then as
47:45
he's done talking with uh with V uh
47:48
comes out from behind the counter and
47:51
literally hands you six more hot dogs.
47:56
Oh,
47:57
>> he goes amazing. He goes, "They're on
48:00
me."
48:01
He's like, "I know you love them. You're
48:03
here all the time. You're" And he he
48:05
smiles. He's like, "You never shoot up
48:06
the place. I appreciate that.
48:09
Uh, I I couldn't I I wouldn't do that to
48:12
you.
48:14
And he beams. He's like, and he he looks
48:16
at everybody. He's like, "Um, yeah, just
48:19
just" And he he kind of looks around at
48:21
his store. Um, all I ask is that you
48:23
please don't don't destroy my store. It
48:27
it really is all I have.
48:31
We'll we'll take care of the problem.
48:32
Don't worry.
48:35
Okay. And so that brings us to the
48:37
question of how do you guys set up shop
48:40
or do you set up shop? Do you are you
48:43
going to lay an ambush? Are you going to
48:45
case the joint? Are you going to do a
48:47
stake out? What are what are you going
48:49
to do? What what would your group of uh
48:52
Veabons do here?
48:55
Uh, I think we should set up at each of
48:57
the cardinal directions, see which way
48:59
they they're coming from, and then um
49:05
kind of kind of try and track them when
49:07
they leave.
49:10
>> I mean, I would like
49:13
>> leave. They're not getting to leave.
49:17
>> That could be B.
49:17
>> We got to find the guy. I mean, maybe
49:19
they've got their guy's hat with them. I
49:21
don't know. But I was thinking it might
49:23
be at their at their uh hidey-hole.
49:35
>> Trying to think of what the best way to
49:36
do this is cuz uh cult cults thing would
49:39
be like, "Oh, hey, they're walking
49:41
towards the store. Let them go in." And
49:44
when they come out, right in the back of
49:46
the head.
49:49
Uh, Jen is thinking about finding some
49:52
high ground to where she can see
49:54
everything approaching. I'm assuming
49:57
that probably not everyone in the city
50:01
owns a cyber truck and so this might be
50:03
noticeable a noticeable thing you could
50:05
watch for.
50:07
>> Yeah, I mean it they are relatively
50:09
uncommon here on series because again
50:11
it's a clean city uh/planet
50:15
toy type thing. Uh, and also, uh, it's a
50:19
vehicle mostly associated with
50:20
douchebags.
50:23
>> Uh, if this if this convenience store is
50:25
like every other convenience store I've
50:26
ever been in, Luke is going to be
50:27
nonchalantly browsing the magazine rack
50:30
up at the front of the store for a
50:32
while.
50:32
>> Oh, yeah. There there's there's plenty
50:34
of space mags here. Uh, everything from
50:37
pop popular space mechanics to uh pop,
50:40
you know, space geographic to like all
50:42
all sorts of like insert 90.
50:45
>> Yeah. Uh, Space Bunny and insert 90s
50:49
reference uh, material here.
50:51
>> I think Luke is looking at whatever the
50:53
space version of uh, Autodriver is. Uh,
50:56
basically like one of these days I will
50:58
have a nicer spaceship.
51:01
Just like flipping through reviews of
51:02
the latest models.
51:06
I think that Kit decides that she's
51:10
gonna post up outside for bait cuz like
51:14
one of her talents is sex appeal and she
51:17
could just unzip her jacket and sit
51:18
there in like her little bralette and
51:20
shorty shorts and just lean up against
51:21
the wall and just wait.
51:24
>> Okay.
51:26
She's just legit going to post up
51:28
outside and smoke a cigarette and just
51:29
be like chilling cuz
51:32
if they're really really crypto doucheb
51:35
bros.
51:38
>> All right.
51:39
>> She knows what.
51:40
>> I think I'll hang out near the door cuz
51:43
um one of my specialties is look
51:44
harmless.
51:47
>> I'll just sit somewhere knitting.
51:49
>> Very useful here. I would I would like
51:52
to before I leave the store, I would
51:53
like to buy a knife.
51:56
>> Just a a knife that would be really good
51:59
for slitting Cyber Truck tires.
52:04
>> Oh, you don't need to do that. I got two
52:05
perfectly good knitting needles right
52:07
here.
52:14
>> All right. So, it looks like you guys
52:16
are going to be setting up an ambush
52:17
here. Um, and it is in this moment where
52:22
uh we will fast forward, you know, an
52:24
hour or two of you guys just milling
52:26
around until you hear the most obnoxious
52:29
sound in the world uh which is a cyber
52:32
truck with the uh spaceship noises
52:34
turned on uh to let you know that it is
52:37
running. Uh yeah, there it is. Yeah, we
52:40
all know what that sounds like.
52:42
>> And I I'm sure I've alienated the one
52:44
cyber owner that is our listener.
52:47
Goodbye.
52:49
>> Um, they pull up and they they get out
52:51
and the weirdest, awful, royaltyfree EDM
52:56
music that doesn't really sound like
52:58
anything starts playing as the truck
53:00
doors open and close and all four of
53:02
them get out and wandering through the
53:04
store and they are loud. Um, Kit, they
53:08
notice you, but then a thought occurs to
53:11
you. These are basement dwelling crypto
53:14
bros. They have no idea what sex is.
53:17
>> Yeah. No, that's fair. But normally, you
53:20
know, we know what they watch in mom's
53:22
basement because they they ain't getting
53:24
it. But that's fine.
53:26
>> We are We are not talking about what
53:27
they watch in mom's basement cuz I'm
53:29
pretty sure it is not PG-13 safe.
53:31
>> Yeah, true. But I just like I think she
53:34
just takes a drag on her cigarette and
53:35
she rolls her eyes like, "Uh, I forgot
53:38
all about these guys not knowing
53:39
anything." So,
53:41
well, I tried. And then she just kind of
53:45
sits there and waits for stuff to pop
53:46
off.
53:48
>> All right. And it is in this moment
53:49
where they do exactly as the clerk said
53:51
above. They walk in. They are loud. They
53:54
are obnoxious. Uh they grab random
53:57
drinks. Uh they try to grab uh what
54:00
looks like those old Japanese sodas with
54:01
the the glass ball at the top that you
54:03
have to pop in order to to get it open.
54:06
Uh they grab a bunch of uh sandwiches
54:08
out of the vending machine. Uh paying
54:11
with the vending machine and I'm air
54:12
quoting pain. Uh looks like they attach
54:15
something to it that looks like a cred
54:16
stick but isn't actually probably a cred
54:18
stick. Uh they get a bunch of the worst
54:20
of the worst leftover sandwiches that
54:22
have probably been there for who knows
54:24
how long. Uh and then they start, you
54:27
know, making their way up to the counter
54:28
and uh they start harassing the clerk.
54:31
Hey man, we're back. You missed us,
54:33
didn't you? Yes, you did. Look at that
54:35
face. Look at that smiling face. All
54:38
right, brother. When do we uh what do we
54:40
owe you? How how many bitcoins do I owe
54:42
you? Uh maybe maybe Dogecoin like uh you
54:44
know what what do you guys accept these
54:46
days? Uh sir, we only we only accept
54:48
double dollars like everywhere else. Ah,
54:52
no. We talked about this before. You
54:54
were going to go ahead and put it in so
54:56
that you guys could accept crypto,
54:57
right? Like it's the wave of the future.
54:59
Think about it. Decentralized banking.
55:02
government don't got his hands in it at
55:04
all. You could live like a fat king.
55:07
It's great. You could be on the You
55:09
could be on the ground floor of this.
55:10
You could be the first shop in all of
55:12
Series to legalize it.
55:15
>> Joe, I want to I want to walk up behind
55:17
this guy while he's giving his stupid
55:18
little speech. Interrupt him with,
55:20
"Yeah, they do have an alternate
55:22
currency you can catch here."
55:25
And that's where this episode will fade
55:28
out.
55:31
uh where we will Yeah, that's where the
55:34
music music hits, the lights go out, the
55:37
the angle of the shots go to each of the
55:39
characters as they're all getting ready.
55:40
Uh Luke behind him, tabbing him on the
55:42
shoulder, making the comment. Uh cold
55:45
with probably several hot dogs and half
55:47
a pack of cigarettes in his mouth,
55:48
getting ready to pull his gun out from
55:50
underneath his jacket. Uh Kit walking in
55:54
through the door, zipping up her uh her
55:56
her uh little hoodie a little bit uh and
55:58
going for her peashooter. Uh we have V
56:03
uh with her little like I don't know
56:05
probably flipping a knife here and
56:07
getting ready with the the little shiny
56:08
objects. Uh Jen or sorry the the V has
56:12
the knitting needles. Jen's flipping the
56:14
knife. Uh and then uh yeah, I think
56:17
that's everybody going to do their thing
56:19
and getting ready for the next
56:21
actionfilled episode. But that's where
56:24
we're going to end it. Go ahead. I'm
56:25
only over here flipping knives because
56:27
I'm really looking forward to slitting
56:29
the tires on that car. Just like so
56:32
excited. I'm so excited.
56:34
>> God, cut the wires on the sound system
56:35
while you're at it.
56:38
>> Uh well, thank you very much, folks, and
56:40
we will see you on the next episode.
