While we did want to discuss some Blizzard news this week -- including the frankly hilarious Dastardly Duos shirt bug -- the biggest news of the week was the reams of announcements and trailers that came out of Summer Game Fest. From The Outer Worlds 2 to Failbetter's next offering, the farm sim Mandrake, to Relooted, a hate letter to the British Museum, there were games on display for tons of different playstyles and genres and vibes. We ran through some of our favorite games and showcases, because man were there a lot of them to get through.
Plus, paradoxically, Diablo 4 is adding the cutest baby goats we've ever seen in our lives to the game. Just roll with it and hope nothing bad happens to them. Also, there won't be an LFR in Mists of Pandaria Classic.

hello everyone and welcome to the Blizzard Watch podcast Uh where we talk mostly about Blizzard Entertainment and
0:15
their many games Uh also Summer GameFest was this week's the Steam Summer Game Fest So we're probably going to talk
0:21
about some other games Um but in the meantime yes we have myself Matt I am
0:27
hosting and I'm also a little tired So if I'm a little wandering I apologize Uh with me are my fantastic co-hosts and
0:35
our very special guest We will introduce him first because he's a very special guest It's Corey Say hi to everybody
0:42
Corey Hi to everybody Corey I am special Corey applause Applause Also with us
0:49
besides Corey who is of course bringing the uh straight man energy we all love and the comedy energy So he's doing both
0:56
It's a hard role but someone's got to do it Um there's our editor-inchief and we've recently discovered um Flintstones
1:04
enthusiast uh Liz Harper and our knower of Flintstones facts that I did not know
1:11
and in fact had never really thought about Joe Perez who likes hockey I do
1:17
And and assume I'm assuming that there's a a Flintstones hockey episode we could talk about later if we wanted to
1:23
probably So but we don't have time for that now We're going to talk about World of Warcraft first because this is again
1:29
a Blizzard You know we watch Blizzard That's why it's named Blizzard Watch Um we also sometimes watch actual Blizzards
1:35
but not very often in June Um maybe you know maybe one will happen That'd be
1:40
worrying It'd be worrying Well I am in Canada so it wouldn't be entirely unexpected Uh but yes I I find this one
1:48
hilarious Um and and I've actually did see it before this the article we wrote
1:55
on it but if you guys know the Dastly Duos thing it's it's the short event where you go in you fight waves of of
2:02
like clanky things then two robot versions of bosses that you fought previously show up and then that happens
2:09
again Um so in total you fight four robot bosses in two waves of two plus
2:16
some regular old trash And apparently for a while the scaling was so messed up
2:22
that that wearing a shirt would cause your you know you you would basically get destroyed So you had to take your
2:28
shirt off in order to am I understanding this correctly or am I remembering old WoW raids you are understanding it
2:36
mostly The thing was there was a bug in Dastardly Duos which uh let you have fun
2:42
and so it you remember time walking used to really scale up some old things like
2:48
legendaries and like every time walking week you dust off your legendaries and go get to use them again that was
2:54
working in Dastardly Duos as well that you could get old legendary gear and
2:59
just really power it up and have you know fun pretending to you know be 10 20
3:07
years in the past Yeah So uh they changed that to where it didn't scale
3:13
like that anymore that the legendaries didn't scale And uh when they did that
3:18
they in introduced a bug that caused the dastardly duos when you zoned in to set
3:26
your item level to one if you were wearing a shirt or a tabard Now having
3:31
your item level at one made the fights slightly more difficult to impossible So
3:39
that was that was a problem particularly for me because I am not I am not breaking my transmog just to do this
3:46
event I do think it's a fun little event but looking good is the most important thing for me in a video game So I'll
3:53
probably go back this week now that the bug is fixed It's just like in real life though I You can't go into a fight
3:59
wearing a shirt It's just it doesn't feel intense enough You got to you got to peel that off and then then you can
4:05
go for it I I was a very fighty person in my youth and I never took my shirt off Now I feel
4:11
like I was doing it wrong Or a tabard Tabard is apparently the same thing Also very I've never actually worn a tabard
4:17
Well I just missing out Apparently we're all missing out I've always wanted to I had
4:24
a friend who did like uh what do they call it um not reenactments because it's it's PBC swords live action role playing
4:32
SCA Yeah Well no because it's at it's Ren fairs and stuff uh like Society of Creative Anacronism Yeah I just I see
4:40
Yeah Yeah I see Um so yeah he used to do that and I always thought it was kind of
4:45
cool that he had like his his own armor even though he made it mostly out of like duct tape and and piping but it was
4:51
still pretty cool that he had it and they would he had it to guard because you know uh but regardless yeah this is
4:57
just one of those things that we don't see bugs like this that much anymore in WoW They used to happen all the time
5:03
Like there was I I still remember for an entire raid tier in in BC I had to take
5:11
my pants off It wasn't even a bug necessarily It was just the way that that that rage was designed I wasn't
5:17
generating enough rage to to to keep threat because I wasn't getting hit So I wasn't taking any damage So I had to
5:23
take my pants off to lower my because I was completely uncrushable in BC You could I could stand there and have Illan
5:30
just hit me all day and nothing would happen to me I'd like shield block every so often to
5:36
when his really big blows were coming in and otherwise boom nothing But that also meant that if anyone hit Illan the guy
5:42
would come right off me because I didn't have any rage So I had to actually learn how to swap my pants off really fast and
5:49
get them back on And then they put that thing in where you couldn't take your pants off in combat anymore And that was really depressing So this this made me
5:56
think about that So uh what do you think the next big weird bug is going to be on now that they've gotten rid of the the
6:02
cool thing with Shadoworn and all that i was I was being a little catty there but it's clear that that Blizzard meant
6:08
things to scale to uh just have an even level of scaling and not have any huge
6:15
power jumps such as would be caused by legendaries And so they they fixed the
6:20
bug and introduced a new and much weirder bug Here we are I still I still
6:28
miss the time walking with legendaries because I got to I got to dual wield my sulfuros and and my shadow mour and they
6:36
both were like scaled up to like current level and it was just so nice It was unbelievably nice It was just like oh
6:42
watch everything die I didn't I didn't go in as pro because I had those So I just I went in as fury and just used
6:49
those things and everything died before you know it was like I'm not going to take any damage It was it was a whole it
6:55
was a whole fun challenge to gear up for time walking and grab hunt down this old gear that could be really cool And yeah
7:02
that doesn't that one doesn't happen anymore You didn't just pack all your best legendaries in your in your bank
7:08
Every legion legendary I I still have all of those but it doesn't do me any
7:13
good in time walking anymore Yeah I when I did a time walking and the and they still scaling still worked that way I
7:20
didn't use a ton of legendaries I just used like my weapons but I used various tier sets from various expansions that
7:28
that would never have worked together before because one was like you know 400 item levels below the other But with uh
7:37
with time walking scaling everything I could go back and wear the uh dungeon set not dungeon set the tier set from uh
7:44
Ice Crown Citadel with some stuff from Cataclysm and just go with the two-piece sets for specific fights and it was just
7:51
amazing Uh so yeah none of this is necessary to talk about this point we can move on to the next thing which is
7:57
that there's a short story about fair and lothar which is a prelude to patch 11.1.7
8:03
or highlands campaign which I think is very cool because thank thank the you
8:09
know the array lords that we're going to get something that actually explains why we're going back to Arai I'm actually
8:15
really happy about this because I I didn't want to go to Arathy So at least you're telling me why And I I do
8:21
appreciate that Blizzard I'm not kidding I I don't think it says much about why It's just like "Hey we're going to a
8:27
raffy." That's more than I had 10 minutes ago Woohoo Plus it means that
8:32
Fair and Lothar gets to to do more stuff It's It's more about like the myth and
8:37
like storytelling of like the Arathy people too Like there's a lot of that in there Yeah So we're getting more
8:42
background and we're getting more stuff with like the Empire uh and a lot of the stories that were passed down because uh
8:49
Fair and Lothar they started with this in the questing and when you were doing it um where like they had a whole bunch
8:56
of tidbits and they put these little little tiny like juicy breadcrumbs just kind of out there for you Uh and then
9:03
they really didn't do anything else with it And we wind up going back to Holofall
9:08
uh for you know the various invasion stuff that we were doing uh this current
9:13
uh patch or this past patch whatever whatever the one before this one Um and
9:19
then lots of spider attacks there Yeah And then now we're we're getting more uh
9:25
more into why like who they are as a people because Matt and I talk about this on lore watch all the time your
9:32
stories kind of give you a framework of who you were as a people and there's
9:37
more of that here Uh as a matter of fact it's something we will likely be talking about on an upcoming lore watch Uh
9:44
because it has been requested by you our wonderful listeners Yeah I should really hit that other button not the not the
9:49
space bar Space bar doesn't do anything Um I I'm like I said I'm just glad to see
9:55
Faren getting to do more stuff and I'm looking forward to seeing like I'm actually kind of glad that I'm waiting
10:02
for the you know 11.1.7 at the Highland stuff open which is the 17th right
10:08
please tell me I'm right It's next week Okay 17th Cuz right now it's what the 10th correct yes Yes See I this months
10:16
they just keep they just keep folding in on themselves Um would you say that the days start coming and they don't start
10:22
coming or they don't stop coming i wouldn't I wouldn't say that You wouldn't say that oh it feels very
10:27
because you said the wrong thing Corey I did I messed that up Yeah You know if
10:33
you want to you're going to evoke allstar then then by God you have to come correct
10:39
Uh but you know now that we've talked about that let's talk about ketchups for puzzling cartel chips and and I I have
10:47
not done that So I I actually am very interested in the catchup I That's good
10:52
because now you can catch up on them because it used to be you lo on whatever the quest was for the week you would get
10:58
that quest Uh now you will be able to do the quest repeatedly until you have
11:03
caught up to the current number of cartel chips And the the uh catchup is
11:09
as of today like as uh yeah it came out this week Yeah Kyax is saying yeah Okay
11:15
that's what he said Um this was a hot fix but it's still cool because you know allows people to get their gear up which
11:21
is you know always necessary to do stuff I I'm the first the first week you did
11:26
the quest and you were able to get three chips which was enough to buy a piece of gear But if you didn't do that the first
11:32
week every week after that was you get one chip and you would have to spend three weeks to get one piece of gear So
11:39
yeah Now you can just use I I believe I haven't gone and tested this with any of my alts but I believe you will now start
11:46
with that quest for three and then you can go on and repeat it for you know one
11:51
a week until you're caught up with everybody else Yeah The way it's phrased
11:57
here is players who have not completed the weekly quest turbo boost powerhouse
12:02
challenges every week can now repeat the quest to catch up Yes So you can just
12:07
keep doing it until you've caught up with everybody else So that's actually really cool and I'm happy to see that Um
12:14
we've already mentioned that 11.1.7 Legacy Verator is going live next week but now we will talk about the things
12:20
that are in it because Liz gave me a bulleted list of the things that are in it which I think is cool and I'm going to use it Um first up lore walking So
12:28
what's the lore walking like I don't remember which one it is That's when you get to see the events of No no I know
12:34
what lore watching Lower walking is I mean which are we getting all three All three of them Yeah Okay cool Um
12:40
basically one of them is uh getting to see the secrets of Zalat Um one of them
12:46
is Arthus Menithil uh which I think relates to the black blood of the earth and all that stuff the old goddy stuff
12:53
And the third one I don't remember Sorry What's the third one Joe i know you know
12:59
it Oh Oh it's uh the etherealss Waving my hand does nothing They can't see me
13:04
doing it Um I mean it's ethereals It's two that are really directly related to
13:10
the current expansion story and this uh Arthus just Arthus kind of out there on the side Yeah I think that that's
13:17
definitely going to be related to the Black Blood stuff though Uh but we're also getting the Rise of the Red Dawn story campaign which is the thing we
13:22
were just talking about with uh Warar Um combat assistant That's the thing that
13:28
where you basically have the game will help you do your rotation so you don't have to worry about as much but it cost
13:34
of it cool downs not being quite right Well go ahead Uh it'll highlight the
13:40
next ability you should press and you can it's just kind of a helper It's going to going to show you what to press
13:46
and then you have to press it There's also a onebutton mode where it will you know pop up the next ability in you know
13:53
an ideal rotation and you can just press one button to get the next uh to get the
13:59
next ability That mode will come with a uh a penalty to the GCD which will mean
14:07
you are going to cast more slowly than you would if you were you know hitting the buttons on your own as just a little
14:13
penalty for you know having the game do a little more of the work for you And the one thing I will say is that uh the
14:19
simming on it for folks that were actually looking through it on uh like uh the PTR and stuff like that
14:26
is 20% below optimal So like that's it's pretty dang good Like that penalty is
14:32
not that big of a deal And for most people that 20% loss off of optimal is
14:38
still better than how like some what some of us are doing on our characters now So
14:44
uh it's it's useful And I was just talking about this with uh with the guild cuz like I'm I'm struggling to
14:52
really make like Rhett Paladin Like I I love R Paladin It's a lot of fun to play
14:57
but I always feel like I can eek more out of it And I feel like I'm not doing quite enough for my eye level And so I'm
15:04
hoping that like maybe I can use this to kind of get my feet wet Uh figure out what I should be doing and then go from
15:09
there I My biggest problem with Paladin was always that I I just can't keep track of holy power per properly So I'm
15:16
not using the right ability at the right time Yeah And I mean like we're not here to talk about that but like the breakdown is like are do you have five
15:23
holy power no Generate more Do you have five holy power hit a spender Do you still have five holy power great No Well
15:30
hit a hit a hit a generator I'm like it's a lot to juggle I have a lot of respect for DPS that do that optimal Uh
15:36
also though in addition to that uh we've got turbulent time ways which is the time walking uh where we're going to
15:42
basically forget which It's the dragonfire dragon Yep Okay So we're
15:48
going to be doing dragon flight time walking this this time around It usually goes for like what five weeks
15:54
yeah And at the end of it if you do five four out of five weeks or you do more than not you will get yourself an
16:00
infinite pirate dragon as your new mount Yeah The first the first week will be battle for Azeroth then Miss Pandaria
16:07
then Burning Crusade Warlords of Dranor Legion and back to Battle for Azeroth So it's going to loop back six weeks of
16:13
time walking I do believe you need to do five to get your to get your pirate
16:19
dragon mount Yeah infinite pirate dragon I went back in time to when they first
16:24
introduced the um the mega dungeon that that was in and that was so long ago that we were like we need this mount now
16:31
and it took them like 5 years to get it to us So I must have gotten Yeah it must
16:37
have gotten lost in the time stream somewhere But come on Blizz No it literally just came here from then
16:44
so you could get it We first had this conversation back in Battle for Azeroth So and our first time walking week is
16:50
battle battle for Azeroth And our last time walking week is battle for Azeroth So we're we're kind of we're kind of
16:57
coming full circle here The word Azeroth is starting to lose all meaning Azeroth
17:02
Yeah Bull Uh okay Also overcharge delves which is kind of like mythic plus for
17:08
delves Um there's also a new belt which I I'm That's good I like belts It's I
17:15
mean it's going to be a reward from the delves and it is customizable
17:21
uh kind of like it has its own little talent tree and you can upgrade it So if
17:27
you're if you're spending those dinar don't spend it on a belt Actually I
17:32
don't know if there are any belts on the dinar Okay never mind just uh yeah maybe
17:38
don't upgrade your belt this week because there is a new one coming next week that anyone can get And every time
17:44
and every time there's a there's a thing like this where there's a new belt like I know it's how we phrased it but I just
17:50
can't help but think of the Simpsons and Wayan Smither's looking at the same old Malibu Stacy doll that's just gotten a
17:56
new hat and he's like "But there's a new hat." Because there's a new belt We're so happy for the new belt Same old belt
18:03
Hat I mean if it was a hat eh it is a little hard to get excited for a belt I
18:10
mean it's it's a belt unless you're a wrestler Those guys love belts Well yeah that's true But I I am but a mere
18:17
adventurer Yeah but all the belts that warriors are wearing look like wrestling belts So I
18:24
have to assume that warriors are excited by that Um but anyway remember too there is the the waste of time which I was a
18:30
belt that I did get excited for even if it did take me the better part of an afternoon Yes because it is a pun
18:38
Uh but there's also Treasure Goblins the greedy emissary event which is starting
18:43
on July 1st This as far as we know this isn't specifically relating to any Diablo thing this this time around Yep
18:50
It's just it's just treasure goblins and World of Warcraft because you know quite frankly they should be in every Blizzard
18:55
game I I I'm looking forward to seeing them in Starcraft 3
19:01
but I'm certainly not yet They aren't in Heroes of the Storm yet that I am aware of So there is room to grow They were um
19:09
there was a Heroes of the Storm event where a treasure goblin would spawn at your base and you could kill it uh for
19:14
See there you go It wasn't even for anything I Maybe you got extra gold at the end of the match for winning or
19:20
losing Didn't Wasn't the treasure goblin during that time where they had the weird gemstone thing for abilities maybe
19:26
I don't remember but we should No but I feel like it was definitely in the live game but so long ago Fair enough Um WoW
19:33
Classic still got some stuff going on Uh first off Mr Pandaria Classic will not have Raidfinder because they're going to
19:39
have celestial dungeons instead which are going to be like the Titan rune dungeons You remember those from Wrath
19:44
Classic um yeah but with this they're gonna scale and to provide better loot
19:52
so you don't have to have raidfinder Instead you will just use these dungeons as your raidfinder especially as new
19:57
tiers of raiding and such drop as the expansion you know progresses That's how they're going to do this in in Mob
20:03
Classic which I got to get people to stop calling it Mop Classic It's got to be Miss Classic because Mop Classic just
20:08
makes me feel like I don't I got to wash my floor Mop Classic That's that's it's a bad name
20:14
Uh so yeah What do you guys think you think they should have they should have kept raidfinder do you think that it's
20:21
good to not have raidfinder what are you thinking i was always in favor of raidfinder Uh it it was just you don't
20:28
always have all day to find a raid group And sure you're not getting the official experience but yeah I I think it was
20:36
always helpful to have it And it could definitely you know show you everything
20:41
that you were missing out on without having to worry about like oh I've got to make sure I've got all the gear gemmed enchanted and I if I don't log
20:48
enough facetime with my guild they're not going to bring me to the raid because this other guy's been doing dungeons outside of it kind of thing
20:54
Sometimes you just don't have that time Yeah I I am always going to be in favor of options I want players to have
21:02
options and this is one less option So I wish it would have stuck around I mean
21:09
I'm not going to tell them how to to do their their stuff but it is definitely something I look at and go "Huh yeah
21:15
probably wouldn't be raiding then or or if I unless I had a full guild of people cuz uh Mr Pandaria raids not great to
21:22
pug." Uh they're they tend to be very complicated and require very specific
21:27
moments MO players for the most part have uh the knowledge now and have the
21:34
ability to look stuff up better than we did when Mist was was you know current Not that we didn't We you know we ran a
21:40
site that did that stuff Um but it's it's one of those things where it's like you have these new people that
21:47
have never seen the maze before uh or they weren't playing during that time and they have to figure it out live
21:53
because you can read a description of it all you want You can watch a video of it all you want doing it something completely different Uh and then you're
22:00
going to have You brought the rumor up Yeah Yes we did Oh and Ember did in chat too I see you Ember We're on the same
22:05
wavelength Um it's Hey Kim Unpopular opinion but I liked the maze and it was
22:12
good and I didn't have any problems with it I I I had my eyes were starting to go and and I didn't know yet that I was
22:18
going blind So all I knew is I couldn't see any of the things people kept telling me to use to get out of the maze
22:24
I'm like I can't see any of this No No apply that to a pug and you know who are famously eventempered and patient with
22:31
people who don't know mechanics like so you jumped right you right jumped right to thrown of thunder as the example I
22:38
was going to say the will of the emperor fight where you've got the tanks facing giant cleaves away from the raid and
22:44
spawning all over the place the first trash pole with the weird statue things
22:49
that jump all over the place and just hit people and explode into weird rock shards and that Those things are a
22:56
nightmare to tank Yeah the the whole thing that whole tier like that entire expansion like those again those raids
23:02
were rough Like we haven't even talked about Heart of Fear like and and like oh my god the Terrace of Endless uh Endless
23:10
Spring like the healing fight These are these are great raids and I want to make sure like they were great design for the
23:18
most part Throne of Thunder I I have a bone to pick with some of that stuff particularly that last fight Ron of
23:23
Thunder is the best raid that they've put out since old war with the exception
23:28
of the last fight No Roden No great fight The Roden Not Roden The Emperor
23:35
Lean was also a great fight I will It's a great fight but also if you're a tank it is inducing It's also a fight that
23:42
they wrote papers on where you know literally there's too much information for people legitimately causing o like
23:50
overload and fatigue because there are too many individual mechanics to to know about So
23:58
fight people were raid leading that fight I mean either they were the kind that just stayed cool no matter what happens because we had a raid one of the
24:04
raid leaders in the guild that I was in before uh the guild I ended up joining Um he was like he was a a a Navy medic
24:13
medic Nothing ever upset him His emotions never came up in games because people had been trying to kill him for a
24:19
while And he was just not that afraid of pixels But everybody else that I knew
24:24
who was doing raid leading was stressed beyond all recognition by Darumu and
24:30
Leen Those are the two fights that made people just mad And I maintain that had our had raids not been our raid leader
24:36
at that point our guild never would have finished that fight like it literally like again for the same reason But that
24:42
said raidfinder tends to be an easier way to get through that when you don't have a group of friends that you know
24:48
you can coordinate with And we're talking about how hard these fights were with people that we can coordinate with and have been playing with for years So
24:56
it's very interesting to me that that's the choice they make So it is a choice
25:01
We'll see how it plays out I'm sure for the most part it will be fine uh for the
25:07
vest Like I I I don't want to say the vast majority of players at least 50% will probably be okay but for those that
25:13
want to do it and don't have a group and maybe are a little bit weaker on the uh the the reaction time it's going to be
25:20
bad for them when they're plugging it So just just very curious Here's why I mean
25:26
they're doing this to try and maintain a a classic has a little bit of a
25:32
different culture and they're doing this to and it's what a lot of people say modern World of Warcraft has lost this
25:40
close-knit community Um you know certainly back in the day if I ran a pug
25:46
with a really good tank or a really good healer or even a really good DPS they were going on my friends list so I could
25:52
so I could be like later message them hey you want to run a dungeon but and that's that's the sort of thing that's
25:59
kind of been lost with raiders and group finders and things like that So I know they're trying to maintain this sense of
26:06
community that some of modern WoW has lost Is it good is it bad but is it
26:12
going to help is it going to hurt i don't know It's just it's a different way of approaching it And it may keep
26:18
Yeah it just is It may keep some people out of the raid That is true It's like dark And it's weird that they're
26:23
removing raid uh so far past like Cataclysm was when
26:28
it was introduced And so it to not keep it in Pandar which always had a raider
26:34
is weird It's they're trying to maintain classic with its own identity And I I I
26:41
don't think these these rides are going to be good to pug either So it's going to encourage you to find groups and
26:48
guilds and keep in touch with people Yeah So it does encourage a different type of gaming culture and it does also
26:56
as all of you have said make it harder to get into these fights if you are a more casual player if you can't keep up
27:02
with a guild But hey a classic does have its own way of doing things I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing
27:09
Okay I personally think it's going to be interesting but I don't have much of a duck in this fight Um wait not duck No
27:18
Oh never mind We're go We're going to go with ducks Yeah I don't have a duck in this fight You don't want to fight that
27:24
duck Um Diablo I Diablo I very important Diablo
27:30
news appropriate for audio medium Um I have to look at the new upcoming baby
27:35
goats because there are very cute baby goats coming to Diablo They are data mind They are on Wowhead at the moment
27:41
We don't know what they're for We just know they are ducks They're not ducks They're goats I'm stuck on the duck
27:47
thing Oh god So Wowhead is speculating that they're going to be added in season 9 maybe as
27:54
part of the battle pass reoquary whatever we're doing now Um there's an
28:01
adorable baby goat It's just a cute little goat And then there's an evil looking baby goat which is a goat but
28:08
eviler It's a black stripes and you know Yeah And there's a hellhound So it hound
28:14
is just straight up evil Yeah that that does take it all the way to evil So uh
28:20
yes maybe maybe we're getting a whole pets reoquary in the next season that is packed with pets I don't know We'll find
28:26
out But be nice especially since there we new pets so they're not all cats and or not all little puppies Uh yeah you
28:34
know the current season has a multi-eyed cat which is a little disturbing but
28:39
it's Diablo Everything in Sanctuary is disturbing except for this goat which is
28:45
adorable Yeah but that just means it's going to be worse when it opens its m and devours you Yeah cuz you're going to
28:51
be like it was so cute Oh the tentacles I mean we do have a couple of puppies and kittens that are really cute and
28:57
really out of place in the game So I It's not It's not to say we can't have a cute pet It's possible Yes Uh but now
29:05
you're telling me that the walking nose wasn't a cute pet yes it was not Stop talking about that No we're done Moving
29:11
on to other games for the games fest It started last Friday and this week is Steam Nextfest which is running from
29:16
yesterday to the 16th H okay I managed to get us away from that
29:22
Um why are summer has big open pay oh go ahead Liz I'm sorry I didn't hear you
29:28
talking I I mean Summer GameFest is one of the biggest events of the year It's kind of replaced E3 but it's not it's
29:36
just this whole cornucopia of gaming showcases That's just so much so much
29:41
It's impossible to keep up with all the games It's just it fills your head and then it spills out your ears So yep I
29:48
think we're going to talk about some highlights that we saw if anyone's seen And we're going to try and highlight this as much as possible because even
29:55
though we have about half an hour there's a lot It's this was crazy
30:00
weakened game First up Wild Gate which is Joe again describe this because every
30:05
time I try my brain hits a 404 I legitimately forgot how I phrased it because my brain has checked out Um yeah
30:13
I don't know It's I I It's It's an extraction shooter like see a thief style type thing Yeah it's like an
30:19
extraction shooter if you played a team You had your friends playing Sprinkle Sprinkle with some Wild Star aesthetic
30:25
Yeah And a little bit of Concord Was I getting Concord vibes from it um I hope
30:34
Wild Star of the Division That's what I called it Wild Star of the Division Yeah
30:39
Wow That's a huge slam on the antiators out of nowhere there Corey No Now over now over to Outer Worlds 2 which I mean
30:47
I'm just going to let Liz talk Are you Are you really I'm doing it right now
30:52
Okay Okay Um yeah Outer Worlds 2 was uh officially demoed There was a really
30:58
long demo which uh it felt more than anything like going back to Fallout New Vegas but in space So I am into all of
31:06
those things The Outerorlds was a game that is just
31:12
super super weird wildly anti- capitalist I've seen it described as ver
31:18
barely veiled anti- capitalism And it's like no no it's it's not barely veiled
31:24
It's it's right there out in the open And if you describe this anti- capitalism as subtext you would be wrong
31:31
It's just text Text It's just text So no writers use text and they're all cowards
31:38
I I'm looking forward to it It's going to be weird It's going to be fun And um it's also going to be $80
31:45
It's the first Xbox game that has jumped up to this new price point And while I I do understand you got to pay your
31:52
developers you got to make money It's also hilarious that The Outer Worlds
31:57
which is just the sharpest critique of capitalism I have ever seen in a video game is is jumping in at this new price
32:04
point Of course it will also be on Xbox Game Pass So if you want to go there you
32:09
can go there But of course if you buy it there are pre-order bonuses and things like that And there's a deluxe edition
32:15
for $100 which will also include future DLC And of course The Outer Worlds had some really really great DLC Uh so I I
32:24
don't know I don't know Do I want to shell out for this game i'm thinking about it There's also
32:31
a version a version for PlayStation which uh Microsoft has not been doing for a little while with these games Well
32:38
it's it's on uh Microsoft's like list so it'll probably be just like Outer Worlds
32:43
was on Game Pass right that's what we're saying It did day one game pass for Outer Worlds too Yes which I it just
32:51
feels strange Microsoft is both heavily pushing Game Fest and also heavily pushing this pre-order So yeah I I think
32:59
the thing you said on the pre-show before we started recording it was pretty apt uh in that you're positive
33:06
You said something like I'm positive or I'm pretty sure that they're trying to get people to go to Game Pass but if
33:12
they don't go to Game Pass we can still get their money So it's not hurting anyone for that It's not hurting Microsoft I It's just It's just odd
33:19
because Game Pass and pre-order our game right now are these are not compatible
33:26
thoughts Uh but yes you can pre-order it or you can wait for it to show up on day one Game Pass Either way uh I'm going to
33:34
venture this one because this I'm going to put this one here Well go ahead Joe I'm sorry No you're not Joe You're Corey I'm Corey Uh not that I am upset about
33:41
being compared to Joe who is wonderful No but he's not you and you're not him He's not me I'm not It's true Um the $80
33:47
is American In Canada it is $110 for a price point like that As I have seen at
33:54
the local store where I just walked past a rack of uh Mario Kart World as the other game that's been put at that $80
34:00
price point which is just it's it feels like so much It's sharp It's very It's
34:06
uh And it I don't know that I've bought a full price game in a long time Like I've either played them on Game Pass or
34:14
gotten it I mean other than like Blizzard ones and that's just because the part of my job is to talk about
34:20
Blizzard games So I kind of feel like I have to have them in a timely fashion And I get you like with me I've noticed
34:27
that I use Game Pass a lot to determine if I if I want a game Yeah And then I
34:33
will will often buy it after or I do the really ridiculous thing of not buying
34:38
the original game but buying all the DLC So it's like I spent more money than I
34:44
would have if I just bought the deluxe edition But yeah I I I definitely see that there's It honestly feels like it's
34:50
a two-pronged attack to get around exclusivity Um but we'll see what
34:55
happens with that Uh I want to talk really fast about the fact that Alcat Games the makers of m
35:01
nothing but isometric CRPGs up to this point uh are now making a shooter third
35:08
person perspective very Mass Effect like expanse game called Osiris Reborn Um and
35:15
I'm not criticizing them for doing that I just think it's interesting that they have decided to go in a direction
35:20
they've never been before It it feels a little bit like Alcat Games has just decided to do the you know the Boware
35:26
Trajectory speedrun So I'm going to caution you guys now Don't go to the part where they let EA buy them Stop
35:33
there Don't Don't go there Don't let EA buy you As somebody who recently
35:38
finished a rewatch of the Expanse TV show I I'm all for it for Belada I'm not
35:44
you know against it I think it looks very interesting Um if you saw the little trailer they put out um some
35:50
really cool stuff like the flying drone thing and guns that can shoot sideways and all sorts of interesting things they
35:56
were doing with the expanse It's hard I I understand that a lot of the expanses
36:02
like it's it's a great sci-fi setting and it's it's a little harder on the science side of things but still very
36:09
much there's ali magical aliens and hyper and super fast travel handwaving
36:16
So it's not like hard hard sci-fi like Azimov but uh I feel like it's and it's
36:22
definitely not a Star Trek kind of thing where a lot of the the conflict was solved through diplomacy but I feel like
36:27
the appeal of the expanse was not the shooty shooty shooty of it all Like it had some gorgeous space battles between
36:34
the Rosenante and all the other ships and the lines from Mars and and everything but it was more about the
36:40
characters of it all Yeah because for me the expanse the expanse to me is summed up best in the the two guys find the the
36:46
dude who killed the uh guy's family and he's like "You're not that guy You're not that guy." And he he talks his
36:52
friend down and his friend like leaves and he goes "Thank you I thought you was going to kill me." He goes "I am that
36:58
guy." Yeah You know that like Amos there That's to me the expanse That's the
37:04
beauty of of it as a as a you know as a story that is unfolding is that it is
37:09
rooted in these people So yeah but I I still am interested to see what they do because I like I like you know I I I
37:17
like me a nice Mass Effect I I I could play one as a treat Um so yeah and the
37:23
protomolelecule and husks look very similar So Oh yeah we're right you're right at home there It is just something
37:30
that I've I've we we talked about a little bit on the free show but but not to any great extent It feels like some
37:36
companies are starting to miss the opportunity to do things that they used to do Um Boware's currently working on
37:45
their Mass Effect new new Mass Effect I hope it does well just because I'd like
37:50
Bowware to continue to exist Yes Um at this point I think if this one does not hit like a bomb that's it for Boware and
37:57
that's horrible Um again don't ever let EA buy you Sorry Liz I I think we're too late for Boware I think it's already I
38:04
think we're already done Yeah Well I'm gonna I'm gonna hold on And they are working on they're working on Mass Effect but I think I think the studios
38:10
out Yeah Well I'm going to hold on to that Desperate Hope until the end no matter what because so few things I can believe in Holding on Desperate Hope for
38:18
a video game I can't imagine anything like that Yeah I I was holding out for hope and I I've run out I have run out
38:25
of desperate hope for Boware loved that studio for many many many years but I I I don't think it's going to make it I
38:32
don't even know if we're going to see another Mass Effect I think that we're gonna see that game just because at this point EA wants to milk the last drops
38:38
out of it but I don't think we're going to see much after that And on that depressing note however I will say Alcat
38:45
Alcat's a good company I've enjoyed pretty much everything they've made up to this point I'm really looking forward to Dark Her So I am more than willing to
38:52
to go in and give this game a shot I'm wondering if they're going to do the
38:57
you can't help but like throw a bunch of the characters from the expanse TV show into it and so like every every couple
39:03
acts or like every major act you're going to run into like there's James Holden there's Amos there's kind of
39:09
thing I hope not I hope we maybe don't even see those characters Um just
39:14
because I think it would be cooler if this stayed off as its own thing but we will see what happens um between this
39:21
and that Exodus game that that Wizards of the Coast of all people are making Um but it has James Olan and Drew Kapishky
39:27
at the company making it So that's amazing Uh you're getting a lot of
39:32
sci-fi shooter type games This one the the the this one though the exchange one the expanse one feels a lot like
39:39
cyberpunk which it should because the stories are kind of in a cyberpunk genre So yeah I'm I'm really interested to see
39:46
where we go with this Bifer I go ahead I I love any kind of big storybased game
39:54
so I have not watched The Expanse but you know if this is a a strong story RPG
39:59
I'm there Yeah I mean it looks to me that's what they're going for So we'll see Well you haven't watched The Expanse
40:05
I have not watched The Expanse Oh you're missing out Although I also don't know if there's a way to watch it now because
40:10
it was on Prime but Prime pulled it Notoriously it was resurrected or it was
40:16
kept alive by Prime after Sci-Fi canceled it because it was Jeff Bezos's favorite TV show and so he threw a bunch
40:22
of money at it to give it well he he gave it three three more seasons than it would have gotten but they still had
40:28
more in the tank I think Oh yeah because the books are still being written for one thing they were Yeah But we now have
40:34
to talk about mouse PI for hire Okay Because it is a game about you being a mouse detective We previously have
40:40
talked about the the duck detective game you know genre Yeah That very different
40:47
It's very different but I mean you can understand they're related Mouse detective game and this should be like
40:53
Liz catnip and this game is just it's a cartoony shooter And I'm like okay okay
40:59
that's not maybe not for me Totally fine I love I'll be upfront as I'm more
41:04
interested in watching it to see how how trenchant the Disney parody is Well I I
41:10
bet that it's also very similar to Sorry I've been talking over you Liz That's
41:15
that's I it just feels very similar to Cuphead in that it's it's going to be aping the style more than we're getting
41:21
uh it's more inspired by than than parodying any particular Disney thing I don't know This guy looks like Goofy to
41:27
me man But anyway now that we can actually let
41:32
Liz say her thing uh there is also a Winnie the Pooh Disney style parody but
41:38
it is so deeply terribly disturbing that we we are not talking about that But
41:44
just so you know it's out there and uh it is definitely taking the Disney style
41:49
of this character and making it a thing of horror If you're that then you can
41:56
look it up But I'm I'm going to jump on that segue Uh because this Mandre
42:01
farming sim Um so it's the guys who made Fallen London Uh yes And making a
42:07
farming sim Yes This is a real thing So they basically made another Stardew
42:13
Valley and they took the already weird Eldrich stuff that's in Stardew Valley and made it even more That's what that's
42:19
what we're looking at in here I think so I mean it's the trailer looks very
42:27
bucolic This is a game inspired by English British folklore and mythology
42:35
and but it does look very the trailer made it look a little more
42:42
straightforward than I was hoping for because Fall in London is exceptionally strange and it goes to some
42:48
exceptionally dark places and this looks like a a cute fantasy farming sim I do
42:54
like the art style and it has a nice color palette but I'm also like I could go I could go weirder I would have been
43:01
happy if we went weirder with this but maybe it does and I just haven't seen it
43:06
yet It's very interesting that in its first trailer at one point the character meets a hor quote a horrifying creature
43:13
sitting in a tree branch but that horrifying creature just looks like a very giant cat So I don't know anyone
43:19
that I mean yeah seeing a very giant cat would be strange but it's not like you're seeing a lion It's just a very
43:24
large fat black hat house cat kind of thing So I don't know that I would You You haven't met a lot of Mun have you
43:31
exactly Yeah I don't know that I would say that this is a very horrifying creature Just I got to find you the heavy metal looking Mun cats You You
43:37
keep going I love Mun They look They all Most of them look like Ron Pearlman and that's
43:43
always funny Uh I Fall in London and Sunless Skies were very strange and also
43:50
very like not straightforward games at the same time Like not even that they're super strange it's just so much of it
43:56
was so hidden and so contingent on like following the little breadcrumb in one existence to the next to get you to the
44:03
point where you could do everything So I' be interested to see if this is the same way or if they want you to be like
44:09
a generational farmer I mean we'll we'll see Okay It's just I I admit I was a
44:15
little disappointed because I expected something deeply strange and dark and this
44:21
maybe a little bit strange but it's not deeply strange I think my favorite of
44:27
their games has been Mask of the Rose which is a Fallen London dating sim
44:32
which does go into some very strange dark places because it's Fall in London
44:37
Fall in London's a weird place but I I'll see I'm I have loved this studio
44:43
for a long time So I am interested to see what they do with this It's just it's this is not a genre I usually dive
44:49
into but Okay Who put the follow f the Final Fantasy tactics thing here um I
44:55
mean that's just a that's a pretty big game I am not a Final Fantasy person but I have heard a lot of people Yeah I
45:01
wanted to know who's who they could talk about it Did Did you write this list no
45:07
Oh Joe can we We can just talk about it Like I don't know Talk about it man I
45:12
want you to do that Final Fantasy Tactics is one of the
45:18
games that is very well exceedingly popular among a very subset of people
45:23
from the '9s Uh a turnbased Final Fantasy game uh that has often been
45:30
forgotten in all of the remasters uh and everything else that's going on Very lovely art style that happens with it
45:36
very uh almost painterly feel with like a lot of its its art direction which is part and parcel for the time Uh and a
45:44
lot of people were increasingly asking especially because this past weekend the Final Fantasy Magic the Gathering set
45:50
just released and this was the only game that didn't get any cards Um and they're
45:55
like well why not uh and I we don't know why and we don't know why this has been
46:01
such a long time coming but Final Fantasy the Chronicles is getting a remaster uh that will be available in
46:09
September on basically every platform uh including the new Switch 2 with enhanced
46:14
visuals higher fidelity um fully voiced dialogue which is something it didn't
46:19
have uh because this was a handheld uh Final Fantasy game uh back in the olden
46:25
days I want to say it was Game Boy Advance back then Might have been the DS I don't remember Regardless it was a it
46:31
was a Game Boy handheld game Um like this is great This is absolutely fantastic Um the price is probably going
46:38
to give sticker shock to a bunch of people cuz it's a remaster that comes in with uh it's $50 US for the regular
46:44
version and then $60 US for the uh deluxe edition But for those of us that have been waiting for it this is this is
46:50
absolutely fantastic I remember it being a very large a lot of people always talking about loving Final Fantasy
46:56
Tactics very much It was never one that I played myself but I I can see that there's a lot of interest out there for
47:02
it So I hope that it does justice to the original isometric gridbased combat with
47:08
turnbased initiative order Yeah it's it's fun In my opinion it's fun So I
47:14
mean I'm looking forward to it Okay Uh does anybody here actually understand what Chronicles Medieval is like I've
47:21
read five articles about it They said it was a single player RPG but I have no no concept of what is going on in this game
47:28
They keep calling it a medieval sandbox Does anybody know anything about it it's probably a very There was a one that
47:34
came out just recently too And it's probably just a you take your single player kind of guy and you go out there
47:40
and you try and be the best feudal knight that you can be and Tom Hardy might be voicing something in it Yeah
47:46
he's actually a narrator or something I I So you know go out there and be the best knight you can be It seems like
47:53
we're kind of in the cyclical moment of gaming where the the technology has caught up to people's fantasies of like
47:59
older games you know the you you the the chivalry from from years past and now
48:06
they're like "Oh but I could actually go down there and be one of like the knights in the field and these giant
48:11
medieval battles and have some fun with that." So this feels like another one of those cuz who doesn't want to ride out
48:18
on a horse and lead your have your Braveheart moment or I I don't know
48:24
enough about medieval battles to really pull one out of there I'm just thinking William and stuff but yeah I'm just hoping I'm
48:30
hoping really really hard that it doesn't turn into another For Honor Um there's a game that disappointed me
48:36
greatly Well no this is a little bit more robust than For Honor Like it's not
48:41
just one v one combat This is like a role playing like sandbox where you get
48:46
to choose who you are and how you become you know whether you're you're from a peasant to a lord or whatever the case
48:53
is Uh it looks like it's probably going to be a lot of playerdriven content but
48:58
hey that's okay Some of those games really uh it worked for Sea of Thieves for a very very long time And if this is
49:05
medieval Sea of Thieves then we're fine there Yeah that's fair Uh I'm jumping ahead a little although I will jump back
49:11
because I think we have time to but I really wanted I want Liz to talk to me about this game Um Reluded What this
49:18
sounds like amazing to me C can you talk about that reluded is a hate letter to
49:24
the British Museum It is a game that is uh purely about
49:32
it's like a an afroofuturist style uh heist game in which you are stealing
49:40
artifacts from museums who have taken them from your native lands and returning them home So at its heart it
49:47
is a heist game It is about going to a museum and casing the place and finding out where's the artifact you're trying
49:53
to steal and then pulling off this heist and getting in and getting out safely
49:59
But it has this core concept that's very socially relevant because indeed a lot
50:08
of big museums British Museum is very chiefly among them but all over the world museums have taken artifacts from
50:16
other cultures and they are put on display far from their homes And they may be things that are very significant
50:22
They may be things with religious or cultural significance and they're continents away So this is a game and it
50:29
looks like a very fun game but also it has this message which is I very very on
50:36
point You know what's amazing to me is that we're at a point now where like concepts I hear about on John Oliver's
50:42
show become video games And I'm like yeah the British Museum in is in
50:48
particular uh there was a whole he did a whole bit about the um museum trade and
50:54
art trade and he talked about the fact that they've have like literally people's great greatgrandfather's
51:00
like memorial scroll is just in a drawer somewhere but you know it's not even cataloged yet They just have it So yeah
51:09
that that's I wanted to hear about this game the second I saw that you had it written down here because that's that's
51:14
definitely something that I'm interested in playing So however now we got to move and talk about Dispatch Joe please talk
51:22
about Dispatch So Dispatch is a game that is quickly consuming all of my brain cycle and something that I need in
51:28
my life immediately Um so again we talked about this before but for a recap
51:33
for those that may have missed it if you are a fan of Telltale games and you are a fan of specifically things like The
51:39
Wolf Among Us or the Borderlands Telltale game or The Walking Dead which are often hailed as three of their best
51:45
Telltale games uh that were available the folks that worked on those literally
51:51
are making a game about well superheroes but not quite like you would expect You
51:56
are playing as a character who your Iron Man style mech suit that you didn't build that your father built for you uh
52:04
gets destroyed in a battle with your nemesis and you don't have the means to
52:09
to get another suit because unfortunately I'm not giving anything away This is in the trailer so again
52:14
bear with me Uh your father has passed away So you wind up making a deal with an organization called the SPD Uh it is
52:23
a group of uh individuals whether they're old retired heroes or people
52:28
that are just working with them that are are working as organizers to dispatch in
52:33
different sectors of the city superheroes and it becomes a resource management game Your deal with them is
52:39
if you do this this particular thing which is basically taking anti-heroes or uh criminals that want to reform and
52:47
help them become actual superheroes uh they'll give you a mech suit again
52:53
They'll they will put the resources in and you can be a hero again Uh and it's
52:58
a very fun resource management game with heavy story already So fully voice uh
53:07
fully voice worked voice acted full animation for cutscenes absolutely
53:13
gorgeous art style and that same telltale style that you would expect Uh it just is everything I want a superhero
53:20
game to be because it treats them like real people not these paragonss not
53:25
these perfect like images of superheroes you see in video games all the time No they're crass They're rude They're
53:32
they're you know not exactly the most uh PG-13
53:38
uh aspects of themselves And it is absolutely brilliant storytelling from just the demo Uh so I cannot wait uh for
53:47
this to release because man I need to play more of it I need to see all the endings I need to see all the branching
53:53
pass This is going to consume me so much You are not going to see me I might like
53:59
be late to podcasts because of this game I'm sorry So yeah Dispatch I mean I mean
54:05
I'm not going to like my entire life isn't going to be devoted to it but it does look really cool Um the bit of the
54:11
demo I got to play was really good So there is a demo out It apparently ends
54:17
on a cliffhanger so you may or may not want to jump in on that It is the game the full game is due out in 2025 but
54:24
does not yet have an exact release date So it's coming sometime relatively soon
54:31
but we don't know when Speaking of games we don't know exactly when they're coming but they're coming sometime uh
54:36
Clockwork Revolution Um which is straight up it it is I I don't even know
54:43
how to describe it really I think I wrote that it was like if you took Dishonored in Bioshock Infinite and then
54:48
you threw some Fallout at it It's kind of like that Um it is it is ridiculously
54:55
steampunk Um technically speaking Dishonored isn't steampunk It's whale punk Uh I've we've had this discussion
55:01
before The stuff you're using to power everything is whale It's Yes it's it
55:06
literally Um but yeah this thing like I said uh
55:13
I I'm really interested because it's supposed to be a time bending single player RPG If you ever played Titanfall
55:19
2 there's a there's a mission in that game where you do weird stuff with time and it's one of my favorite moments in
55:26
gameplay of the past decade And if this game can can do this weird steampunk
55:32
magic thing and have time jumping and be a steampunk game with like clockworks
55:38
you know going to war I am I am interested I straight up and it looks beautiful It looks very ambitious
55:46
honestly because it does it does suggest you can use your time bending powers to go way back and just change everything
55:53
and jump around it And in that way it could be a lot like Bioshock Infinite timing there as possible because Bioshock Infinite was all about jumping
56:00
into alternate realities kind of looking for the bits and pieces you wanted And
56:07
but that is a it's a very ambitious goal to be able to have something like that that lets you do that kind of elaborate
56:14
story branching and lets you have So I'm interested I'm interested but we will
56:20
we'll see how well it does it because this is a this is a very challenging idea to pull off and do well Yeah I mean
56:27
in Exile who's the guys who are doing this are you know they're relatively well known They've they you know founded
56:34
by Brian Fargo who was the Interplay co-founder Um they put out a bunch of games including you know uh the
56:40
Wasteland 2 and Wasteland 3 uh sequels to the original Wasteland Um they they
56:47
made Torment: Tides of Numanara as a sort of spiritual successor to Plscape
56:52
Um so it is entirely possible that this is going to be awesome but at the same
56:58
time it's like like you can't just because people did a good thing once doesn't mean that they will again Um I I
57:06
hope that they do here I look forward to this one I'm I'm looking forward to seeing how many different mustaches I
57:11
can put on my character If your robots can get mustaches then by
57:17
lord you should get mustaches This is very over-the-top Victorian
57:22
steampunk and uh this is a Castle Falcon theme times 10 and and it is it is very
57:28
violent It is not this is not a fun polite kind of game but uh it could be
57:34
it could be really interesting What do you mean multiple cocktails are for the kids right yeah Yeah Well they got to
57:39
have trainers right they got to learn how to you know revolt against society somewhere Nevertheless I like I said I
57:45
am looking forward to this one What I do think actually the coolest thing from the trailer was you know this
57:52
noble goes in and he's like I've been robbed I'm I'm you know he was like the the guy looked like this And then I I
58:00
feel like that from there I feel like that was character creation they were showing us It was you know the guy looked like this Yeah And I thought that
58:06
was such a cool conceit you know going in this guy robbed me He looks like this H no he looks like this and you're like
58:13
scrolling through your beard options on the screen until you find something you want It's a little bit and that's what
58:19
the guy looks like It's a little bit like the opening to Mororrowind Oblivion and Skyrim or the opening to Fallout New
58:28
Vegas Uh where basically something weirdly bad happened or is happening and
58:33
that's your character opening Uh like you know you jump ahead jump in So that
58:39
is cool I actually am Brian Fargo has you know I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt I just I've gotten
58:46
to the point now where I'm always a little cautious but that's not his fault Uh there's a co-op sheep hurting game
58:52
where you play a cute sheep dog sheep You play a sheep Yes Uh sheep herds
58:58
Sheep herds It's It's co-op sheep hering It is super adorable The sheep can
59:04
change color I'm not sure how that plays into it the changing color but it's really cute that I mean this is going to
59:11
be one of those It seems like something that could be
59:16
extremely chaotic but also but also cute and really fun
59:22
Your little dogs can be dressed up You can have a dog wearing like butterfly wings There's a puppy and and there's a
59:29
there's a You can have dogs wearing hats This is a coboard You know that's that's kind of all I need And it Oh my god This
59:36
one has hat and jurers He's got a hat on and jog purse So perfect for everyone who wants to
59:43
dress their dogs up but they have a large dog or a small dog and they can't find a costume to fit It's uh it's got a
59:50
you know there's a puzzle-like element to hurting the sheep because you're getting them to go in the right
59:55
direction And you know you could work together or you could just be causing trouble for whoever you're working with
1:00:02
All right Um they're basically uh we did we covered Reloaded thankfully Um should
1:00:08
probably talk about Cresant County real fast because it's another cozy game It looks to be a driving delivery sim but
1:00:13
because that's what you wrote here I can't decide if you would call this cozy exactly It's uh you are it it's a broom
1:00:22
racing simulator you know and you're you are doing deliveries
1:00:28
on your broom of course because you you've got a racing broom and you're doing that to fund improving your broom
1:00:34
and to do it does kind of look like Mario Kart on a broom Yeah it's so it is
1:00:40
a racing stem with some of this uh story element to it as well And you're playing
1:00:45
a delivery witch I don't know but it looks fast and fun All right Uh so we
1:00:52
got that one Xbox is getting itself a handheld which is the Xbox Rogue Ally
1:00:57
which is ROG Ally which is I mean based on a previous product Uh I think the
1:01:03
Rogue Ally has existed for Joe would know How long do you think that the Rogue Ally has existed Joe the Asus ROG
1:01:10
Ally has been out for a little bit maybe a little over a year I think at this point Um it's a tried and tested
1:01:16
handheld Uh it's had its revisions already Xbox is just partnering with them to produce the the uh upgraded
1:01:24
handheld uh of which there will be uh this version that go along with a
1:01:30
another version of the ROG Ally that will be releasing uh at the roughly the
1:01:35
same time So it it it's interesting Uh it's interesting to see what they do cuz the most interesting thing is that it
1:01:41
seems like there is a specific branch of Windows that is being developed for this
1:01:49
handheld Uh and other something very stripped down of all the extra bloatware that's in the latest Windows releases
1:01:55
which is which is what the current handhelds try to do but they're still running a Windows uh OS that hasn't been
1:02:02
made with mobile in mind So we'll see how that does That's the most interesting part of it for me and how
1:02:09
optimized it is Uh because now with the Switch 2 out and the Steam Deck uh Steam
1:02:14
OS now being available on multiple handhelds including an Asus uh handheld as well And there's an ROG ally that
1:02:21
will have the Steam OS on it uh as well So like we're spoiled for handheld
1:02:28
choices at this time and I'm really curious to see what everybody does with And the other thing is Microsoft over
1:02:33
the weekend made a really big deal about how every game they were showing was going to be playable on this handheld So
1:02:40
that's uh quite a game library Mhm And there's so many more that we didn't even get a chance to talk about I mean
1:02:47
there's hundreds of games hundreds of games this weekend Yeah I mean we don't
1:02:52
have time like we would It's it'd be impossible We'd be here for 8 hours As is we've already gone over and I have
