Submitter Hayword of Thanks for All the Fish on Stormrage (US-A) couldn't wait to complete his legendary ring questline. Was it for Maalus itself? For Garona? For bragging rights? Not exactly. Hayword's ultimate goal was the giant ring monument in his garrison that you get at the end. This lonely night elf has fallen in love with a hyldnir woman, and needed an appropriately-sized ring for his proposal. After completing his legendary quest, Hayword got down on one knee, asked his lady love for her giant hand in marriage, and was promptly enslaved and sent to work in the mines. This is why you always Google your girlfriend's species and read the wiki before you propose, folks.
