"Nalindra looked out over the lake, trying to hide her impatience from Kaldan," writes submitter
Tsunamiko of Shadowsong (EU-A). "Their guard shift was soon over and she could hardly wait. Kaldan was pleasant company, but her human friend Marina had hinted that she had found some magical artifacts and scrolls that she thought belonged to the Trolls. It was still close enough to the Troll wars that such things were almost always destroyed when they were found. The elves had good cause to hate the voodoo of the Trolls, after all.
Nalindra could not share the sentiment, though. Troll voodoo was magic, just of a very different sort than the schools practiced by the elves. She had always thought it was a mistake to dismiss other forms of magic just because 'lesser' races used it, in part influenced by being looked down on for her own mediocre talent for the arcane (if she was honest with herself.) If Marina truly had found a cache of Troll artifacts, she definitely wanted a chance to study them."
