Submitter Epicurian writes, "In our continuing series of 'Can we do ...', we present Firelands and the stairs to Ragnaros. Back when
Spectacular Death was clearing this for the first time, one of our engineers hopped on his glider to get down the stairs fast and landed in the lava. He managed to get to a rock where we, of course, laughed and pointed at him. Our priest tried a 'yoink' which, given where he was standing, caused him to hit the side of the bridge and land back in the lava. He wound up having to die and run back.
Remembering this hilarity, we mounted goblin gliders and flew down the stairs. I fully expected someone to veer off-course and land in the lava again. Sadly, no one did. We landed right in front of the lava worms. Unfortunately, you don't get enough height to glide all the way to Ragnaros. Clearly this is an encounter design flaw. THAT would be cool.
Firelands has a great many places where gliding technology could be utilized. Stay tuned. We'll check these out and report back."
