Yes, Overwatch phenom Geguri can play Brigitte, too

Korean Overwatch phenom Geguri is best known for playing tanks or off-tanks like Zarya and D.Va. With that in mind, the game’s newest hero Brigitte seemed right up Geguri’s alley — and within hours of picking up the character, it proved true. In a match on Nepal Sanctum, Roadhog hooks Geguri’s Brigitte, pulling her into the death pit — but with split second reactions, Geguri saves herself with Brigitte’s Shield Bash ability to fling herself back up onto the platform.

Just as Dot Esport’s Nicole Carpenter says, it’s difficult to even see what happened in this clip on the first viewing. The sequence of events happens so quickly, you could easily believe it was the result of a glitch, dropped frames, or rubberbanding due to lag, but none of that is true. Geguri’s high mouse sensitivity and fast, precise reaction times are all that saves her from death, happening so quickly the Twitch clip’s title is incredibly appropriate: wat. The camera on her mouse hand tells the story: this was absolutely an intentional play.

Geguri first broke into the wider Overwatch scene when, due to being so good at the game, she was accused of using hacks and received threats from players in the Korean pro scene as a result. She proved her innocence at a livestreamed event run by Korean site Inven, and more recently Geguri was signed by an Overwatch League team, the Shanghai Dragons. While Geguri is likely to favor her usual heroes of Zarya and D.Va in her pro play, she very well might be adding Brigitte to her repertoire.
