Overwatch preview shows Winston just monkeying around

Brain monkey get up, get coffee. Brain monkey go to job.

Overwatch‘s Winston is not actually a monkey.  He’s an ape.  A great ape, to be specific, and since most apes do not have powered armor, glasses, and short-range electrical discharge guns, perhaps one could even classify him as some sort of awesome ape.  He’s also the biggest possible argument in favor of a third-person camera for the game, because when you watch this preview video you can’t deny that it would all look better if you could see the simian rampage in its totality.

One of the things that the preview highlights is how Winston plays similarly to the other tank characters in some respects, but very differently in others – while he’s still stuck as a close-range character with a defensive ability, he’s got a fair amount of vertical mobility, and he doesn’t actively move into melee until he pulls out his ultimate and just starts flattening his enemies.  You can go for the aggressive approach or hang back a bit more, and he can play both roles in quick sequence.  It’s enough to get you really pumped up for some monkey business.
