The Queue: How many heroes

Another bright and beautiful day has dawned over the Queue, which means that, yes, it is time for a new round of Q&A. (And also for some slight, very slight obsessing over the new Sugar Plum Sylvanas skin.)

So let’s dive right in, shall we?

RAZWICK ASKED:

QftQ: Keeping in mind that every dollar I spend is actually $1.30, how much should I allow myself to buy during this massive sale Blizzard is having?

I think I’m going to buy Brightpaw regardless because of the charity factor, but I am sorely tempted to get some heroes and skins in Heroes. Vrykul Leoric for $3.74 ($5.16 for me) guys. Restraint is hard.

I try to show restraint when it comes to buying digital goods, I really do. It seems pointless to dump buckets of cash on pixels that will vanish completely whenever the game does… and yet I own some WoW store mounts and a number of store pets (and certainly jump on the charity pets when they come up).

But Heroes of the Storm’s free to play model means there are way more things to buy. And that’s a problem because I simply have no self-restraint. I’m not very good at Heroes and so I don’t play it a lot — though I keep telling myself I’m going to clear out time to get better at the game and level up my favorite heroes. But even so, this sale has done me in. I’ve picked up a half dozen heroes and a couple of skins. (Though I am, repeatedly, telling myself that I don’t need to spend $30 on that Winter Veil bundle just to get the Winter Veil Jaina skin. So far that’s worked out.)

So how many heroes do you really need? I’d say that depends on which heroes you most like playing. If there are some you love but don’t own, the Black Friday sale that’s on now offers the best deals we’ve seen in the game so far. The trick is showing enough restraint to only buy the heroes you really want to play rather than everything…. because even at half off, everything will add up.

CHRTH ASKED:

Q4TQ: Besides Magni, what’s your favorite Heroes of the Storm skin?

There is Sugar Plum Sylvanas and then there is everything else.

DRACONICMAN ASKED:

Who would win in a fight? Korfax or Saurfang?

Korfax. Have you seen that guy? Because I have, and he is a ruthless, unstoppable killing machine.

JOLLY-INATOR ASKED:

Are you giving any ingame wow Christmas gifts to friends?

My guild actually does a yearly Winter Veil party in which we do an in-game white elephant gift exchange. Yep, we meet up in Ironforge with wrapped packages (and, preferably, holiday sweaters) to find out who gets the best and/or worst gift. I think I took a Stylin’ Purple Hat last year and I’m going to have to seriously consider how to do better this year.

How many Kungaloosh can I fit in a single gift box, anyway?

GENDOU ASKED:

Q4Q: When leveling 1-100, are there any zones you take your time in because you like the scenery or story?

Dragonblight. I love the music, I love the scenery, and the Wrathgate event is the only thing in World of Warcraft that I have ever had a genuine emotional reaction to. No matter how many alts I level, I always make sure to go through the main chains in Dragonblight and do the Wrathgate.

That’s all for now, dear readers. As ever, leave your questions in the comments below — Mr. Matthew Rossi will be here to answer them tomorrow.
