The Queue: Hello darkness my old friend

Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!

I’m not sure how I feel about Void Elves just yet, but man the Void is pretty, isn’t it? I mean, aside from being a desolate chunk of rocks just sort of floating in the vast nothingness of space. I think most of my time spent unlocking the Allied Race was actually just snapping a billion different screenshots of the place. Whoops!

JOHN RUSCHMEYER ASKED:

Just curious since I probably won’t be buying BfA for a bit… how hard are the scenarios? I have 110s of both factions though my Alliance one is a bit undergeared.

They’re really not that difficult at all! Disclaimer – I haven’t finished all four scenarios just yet. But the ones I have completed all have NPCs that help you out, so you aren’t fighting alone. I did the Horde scenario on the character that has plenty of good gear, but I did the Alliance scenario on an alt that isn’t exactly super well geared, and it went just as quickly. Honestly, the most difficult part of unlocking the Allied Races is more the rep requirement than anything else — and that has nothing to do with gear, it’s just a time investment.

TKC ASKED:

Q4tQ: if you bought the pre-order, what are you going to do with your 110 boost? I have so many 110s right now I’m at a bit of a loss as to what to do with it.

I run into this issue every time I get a boost with an expansion. I can never decide what I want to boost. As far as this expansion goes, I already have a lot of higher-level alts. I may go ahead and boost a class I rarely play, just so I can see all the story associated with that class. Probably won’t bother leveling them once Battle for Azeroth is out, but in the meantime I can play through and see all the lore I wouldn’t otherwise see while I’m waiting for the next expansion to hit.

ENO ASKED:

I had no idea this quest existed. Is it Alliance-only or new this week, because I hadn’t seen it until now? (Had only beaten Argus on three Alliance characters so far and just saw it after defeating him on my night elf warrior).

Don’t feel bad, I missed it the first time around myself. Moments of Reflection is a quest you get after defeating Argus and returning to the Vindicaar. It’s on the deck of the ship, but it’s on the opposite end of the deck from the loot chest — that’s why I missed it entirely. If you happened to miss it on a character, you can pick it up next time you clear the raid again. It’s not Alliance-only, it’s just not immediately visible — I found it because one of the other people in LFR mentioned it in raid chat and pointed out where you picked up the quest.

GAWDZILLA ASKED:

Q4tQ: One thing that had dissapointed me in Legion was the lack of Illidan and Maiev shenanigans. The dungeon with them was not enough and Maiev was notably absent toward the end. What would you have done differently with them especially now that Illiadan is Sargerars jailer?

I was sort of hoping we’d see some kind of dialogue exchange regarding Maiev’s actions after she returned to Azeroth — post-Black Temple. The stuff she was up to in the Stormrage novel. I won’t go too far into spoiler territory other than to say she wasn’t exactly friendly with Malfurion, and I would’ve liked to have seen Illidan’s reaction to that news.

Honestly I feel like Maiev kind of got a raw deal this expansion. She came back, but she wasn’t exactly featured, the things she was up to in Stormrage weren’t really acknowledged so much as brushed off, and aside from her presence in the Cathedral of Eternal Night, we didn’t really see her so much. I do know that her voice actor, Debi Mae West, had to have surgery last year — she mentioned it on her Twitter. That may have something to do with Maiev’s absence, and if that’s the case well I don’t exactly feel bad about not seeing her more. Healing up from that kind of thing is way more important! Maybe we’ll see her again in the upcoming expansion — I hope so.

DOMEHAMMER ASKED:

Question for the Queue Is there one piece of transmog you almost always use no matter what the mog is? For me my worgen rogue either has ebon mask or a eyepatch as helm.

I use the Black Whelp Boots with almost every outfit I have. They’re knee-high black boots, but they’re sculpted to the leg. They don’t have the odd bump in the middle like Bandit Boots do. You can’t actually get the Black Whelp Boots in-game anymore, so I’m glad I have them squirreled away in my wardrobe — and they go with pretty much everything.

STEELBELLY ASKED:

Draenor orcs were mentioned as being allied races mid-BFA. What will the alliance equivalent be? Kul Titan Humans?

At first I thought having a Human Allied Race would be silly — but then I saw the models for the Kul Tirans. They look very different in terms of build, with a wider variety of options. I really like them, and I’d love to see them added as an Allied Race. It makes sense anyway, if we’re helping out Kul Tiras in Battle for Azeroth.

I can’t really think of any other Alliance equivalent we don’t already have just yet. We’re getting Dark Iron Dwarves — Wildhammer, maybe? But that’s just another Dwarf variant. Mechagnomes might be another option, but that’d be a stretch.

That’s it for today’s Queue — if you have any questions you’d like to see answered, be sure to leave them in the comments below!
