The Queue: I bless the rains

I’m a sucker for metal covers of songs that shouldn’t have metal covers.

It’s the Queue. My Lightforged hit 110. I seek to cure what’s deep inside.

MYTHRIAK

Q4tQ: Is Anduin the only major character who never got in touch with his “own class” Hall in Legion? If there are others, which were the implications for it not happening?

The Warrior class hall isn’t a class hall. Saurfang got to come up, as did any of the followers you acquired, but that’s it — any other famous lore Warriors in the game, like Danath Trollbane, Muradin Bronzebeard, Thargas Anvilmar, Genn Greymane or Baine Bloodhoof, did not. Basically, there’s no Class Order for anyone else to join — you’re the Battlelord of the Valarjar, but that’s a specific group and not open to all Warriors in Azeroth.

TKC

Q4tPTRQ: does the pre-patch have a leveling mechanism like Legion did?

If it does, I didn’t see it.

RAZWICK

Joke(kinda)QftQ: How is it fair how good plate boots look on Nightborne?

I love my troll but I race changed over boot appearances once and damn it if I’m not tempted again! Mind you last time it was because of how bad they were.

I… don’t see it?

Honestly and I’m aware there could be some sour grapes here but I went Nightborne on the beta and I switched back quick. I honestly felt like I liked her better as a Night Elf. I’m just not terribly impressed with Nightborne. Again, this could be sour grapes, I was and am still pretty angry about the whole deal, especially since Nightborne use the Night Elf dance animation.

ARCHMAGE RC

Thought for the queue: There are not enough good curly hairstyles for WoW customization. Are there any? I don’t know.

There’s not enough anything in terms of customization. Not enough hairstyles, not enough faces, I want more of it all.

RIK OSBORNE

A little while back, I mentioned finding it odd that the Fizzcrank Airstrip quests don’t count at all toward the “Nothing Boring About Borean” zone questing achievement. I figured that the revelation of the gnomes’ origin was a far more “important” story than those silly King Mrglmrgl murloc quests, which *do* count. In addition to the gnome origins, the Fizzcrank quests also introduce the player to the Nerubians, the magnataur, and the Scourge – again, all more “important” to the WotLK story than a bunch of murlocs.

Any theories as to why these were left out of the achievement requirement? I know I had to do them all to get the achievement back when the requirement was still “Complete X quests in Borean Tundra”. It’s only with the revamping of those achievements to “Complete the following storylines” that the Fizzcrank quests became superfluous.

The only possibility I can think of is the fact that one quest requires obtaining an Overcharged Capacitor, an item made by engineers, or by engineers disassembling the Flame Leviathan in Ulduar, and very rarely available from engineering vendors.

If I had to hazard a guess, and I do because I don’t know, I would assume it’s because the Airfield isn’t actually a part of the Borean Tundra story chain — it’s entirely self contained and doesn’t have anything to do with confronting the secret Scourge plan to destabilize the area via the Cult of the Damned. The Horde and Alliance fight different plots, but in the end both factions have a story about confronting and stopping the Cult and Fizzcrank isn’t part of it.

But I am completely guessing here. I honestly do not know why these quests don’t count for the achievement.

ENO

No cancer for my mom. They slowed down the bleeding. Still not sure what it exactly was, but they said no cancer, so yay.

Please pass our well wishes on to your mother and I’m glad she came through without it being cancer.

JDMAC

I think I missed the TPS report that has this answer …

What is the best guess for the release of Patch 8.0?

/salute all
4Azeroth

Even Ion Hazzikostas winked at this one during the Q&A — with it being two months before Battle for Azeroth launches, and with the pre-patch usually lasting a month before launch, we’re looking at sometime in mid July as the most likely time for patch 8.0 to drop. They didn’t say, specifically, but that’s my guess based on every single expansion we’ve had since Mists of Pandaria.

MONSTERMAN_37

QftQ: Blizzard was hyping up that transmog for Druids in Legion, that with artifact weapons, Cat & Bear forms would change, because you know, it’s so not cool you can’t see the weapons when in forms. Is that pretty much abandoned going forward? If it is, they shouldn’t have promoted it as such a “oh boy, your transmog woes are over”, then. Granted, you get some options with said artifact weapons, but over time that will feel more and more limited.

It’d be nice though going forward that they would at least provide some more options.

Well, they’ve introduced specific weapons in the past that had the ability to change Druid forms (like the Flamescythe from Firelands) so it’s possible they may again, and you’ll be able to mog to the Artifact appearance for your spec and get the altered look that Artifact provides.

SIXTHOUSAND

Q4tQ: WHAT IS EXISTENCE IF ALL CAN BE FORGOTTEN?!!!

I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

FLANAGEDDON

Q4tQ: how can i go on after reading a book and having an emotional attachment to a Goblin? i feel dirty now.

Everyone is the hero of their own story.

Everyone has a whole world of past experiences that made them. Even the worst person ever, even actual human monsters, have wants and needs and could have made different choices, been different people. No one is ever all one thing — people who bully and torment others still lived lives, and if nothing else have stubbed a toe or cut a finger or in some way suffered at least a few moments of pain. These moments are our shared kinship.

If you felt an emotional connection to a Goblin, you are offering high praise to the author of the tale. That’s how you can go on, in recognition of the shared moment of humanity you and the writer have experienced.

MESERENGINE

Q4tQ: How long do you think it will be before Genn starts trying to set up his daughter with Anduin?

He already has.

Okay, that’s the Queue for this week. See y’all next week.
