The Queue: High steaks

Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!

I think one of the things I’m loving the most about Battle for Azeroth right now are the little random vignettes that pop up here and there. One minute I am totally in the middle of a quest to go do something super important, the next I’m distracted by Miss Hungry Gnome and the steak that’s roughly the size of her head. She doesn’t offer anything important or anything. She’s busy. And hungry. This expansion is great so far!

KALCHEUS ASKED:

Q4TQ: As you’ve been following the main storylines in the BfA Zones, have you been able to resist the siren call of the yellow ! seemingly everywhere you look?

Absolutely not. I’m kind of a completionist when it comes to zones and quests. Part of it is just wanting to clear everything away, but it’s also because you never know when some random quest out in the middle of nowhere is going to deliver a really cool story moment, or a hint at new stories to come. That’s…pretty much why I’m still out in Tiragarde Sound and I haven’t moved on yet. Have to finish it all first!

Bonus, I’m already a chunk of the way through 114 and I haven’t even been to a second zone yet. I don’t think I’ll hit 115 before I run out of quests — I think I’ve only got a handful left — but honestly I’ve barely been paying attention to the XP bar anyway. Too many stories to look at!

OMEDON ASKED:

Hey, uh… a lot of these quests I’m seeing in Boralus are just… part of “leveling in Tiragarde,” right? Some lady asking me to take furs somwhere and stuff… it’s nothing core and I’m allowed to go to Drustvar if I’ve chosen that first, right?

Yep! They’re just to send you out to other parts of Tiragarde for quest hubs. You can safely ignore them for now and head to Drustvar if you like — they’ll still be waiting for you when you get back.

MYSERI ASKED:

BONUS ROLE VENDOR?

Not like i’m max level yet… but where is the token vendor?

The vendor for bonus roll tokens is over in the same building/area that the transmog vendor is at, whichever respective capital city you happen to be in. You won’t be able to pick them up until you’re max level, however — so maybe work on that one first!

KALCHEUS ASKED:

Q4TQ: How long do you think Blizzard will wait for the hubbub around BfA to calm down before talking about other stuff? Gamescom?

Gamescom is next week, and I thoroughly expect we’ll be hearing some cool stuff out of there. In fact…given its proximity to launch and the fact we haven’t seen it yet, I suspect we might see the third and final episode of Warbringers make its debut at Gamescom.

Personally, I’m hoping we’ll hear a little more about whatever those mysterious Diablo projects happen to be. I mean…they said “later this year.” Three weeks is later, right? Right?

MAALIN ASKED:

Help! I took this war campaign quest and ended up on Zuldazar. The only way I can see to get out of here is to hearth. But if I hearth, how do I get back to finish later?

You can hearth, and just speak to Grand Admiral Jes-Tereth on the boat in the harbor to take you back when you’re ready. She’ll have the option in her dialogue window. Alternatively, if you finish all the war campaign quests for that particular section of the plot, you’ll be sent back to Boralus at the end.

GALDWYNN ASKED:

Q4tQ: What’s the 7th Legion?

The 7th Legion is essentially the Alliance’s version of the Kor’kron Legion. They’re an elite special ops regiment, largely composed of Alliance veterans that have seen…pretty much every major war in WoW, going all the way back to the Third War. They’ve actually worked with the Kor’kron Legion at one point — both units were part of the Might of Kalimdor, the assembled army that fought at the Gates of Ahn’Qiraj. Basically, they’re the best of the best Alliance soldiers.

GAWDZILLA ASKED:

Q4TQ: Does anyone other than me want Blizz to publish a book/novella/short story detailing the adventures of country bumpkin farmboy Nathanos Marris as he trains to be a Farstrider in the Quel’thalas? A wonderful fish out of water story full of comedy, politics, high elf sass and romance? Maybe in conjunction with a Sylvanas story? No? Just me? Bummer.

I’d actually like to see that — we got the briefest glimpse of that story in Dark Mirror, but the full tale behind all of that is still a mystery. There’s a few different reasons I’d like to see it. I mean yes, I’d like to get a good look at Nathanos’ backstory — what brought him to Quel’Thalas in the first place? How did he and Sylvanas first meet?

Maybe more importantly, I’d like to see Sylvanas’ story told as well. I mean, she got the position of Ranger-General, but what was she like before that? And how did she lead the Farstriders? There must have been a pretty major amount of pushback when she suggested a human join their ranks, how did the two of them handle that?

I don’t know if that story would be quite as comedic as you’d think. I think it’d say a lot about the political climate in Quel’Thalas, and relations between the high elves and humanity. It’d be an interesting read, at any rate. I don’t know if we’ll ever see that one come to pass, however — there’s kind of a time and place for novels, and right now Blizzard is focusing on stuff that’s going on right now.

But man, that’d be a good book, wouldn’t it?
