The Queue: Check please

Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!

The Cupola Cafe offers a variety of drinks and delicious snacks, each artfully handcrafted with only the finest of goods. I thoroughly recommend the Major’s Frothy Coffee, a rich blend of local beans with just the right amount of bitterness to offset the foam.

The waitstaff on the other hand, hover to the point of being completely intolerable — which is why I sadly have to drop their rating from four to two and a half stars. If you’re visiting the establishment, I suggest picking up your coffee to go.

Wait, this isn’t a review column, this is the Queue. You have questions. Let’s answer those, why don’t we?

LUOTIANX ASKED:

What would you give for them to retroactively put a bronze dragon in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms so we could get the pretty version back?

I don’t actually want a bronze dragon to turn back the clock. I’d like to instead see some kind of visual update indicating that time has passed and the Pandaren have made some progress in reclaiming the Vale. While they’re at it, maybe update Jade Forest with the construction of a new jade dragon statue underway or something. Don’t get me wrong, I do like the option to rewind the clock and all that — but I’d also like to see that progress has been made towards fixing the mess we made and getting things back to normal after we left, you know?

MISTAH JAY ASKED:

Q4tQ: Do you think there’s a canonical order to which island (KT and Zandalar, Main Campaign and War Campaign) is done first, similar to which Artifact was obtained first in Legion?

I believe they’re supposed to be taking place at roughly the same time. I don’t think we’ve gotten enough story hooks to really pinpoint what exactly happened first, and on which island. Keep in mind that most expansions take place over the course of a year in Azeroth time (with the exception of Mists of Pandaria) — so we’re looking at at least a couple of months of progress happening pretty rapidly.

HUSSKIES ASKED:

Q4TQ Rossi Edition: At this point, is the big shield around Silvermoon restored? I know they lost the crystals or whatever was helping maintain it but with their mages and the power of the Sunwell, surely they’ve found a way to restore the city’s defenses.

I’m not Rossi, but I’ll throw you an answer anyway — the big shield isn’t in place, to my knowledge. I don’t know if the Blood Elves have really considered throwing it back up at this point. I’m wondering if this is something that might potentially be addressed with the new Blood Elf Heritage Armor quests, though. Ion did mention that the Blood Elves would be learning about the history of the Dead Scar, and the shield ties into all of that.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they wanted to put it back up though, because they’re the only Horde-allied nation left on the Eastern Kingdoms. It’s only a matter of time before the Alliance wants to push them out entirely, and having that shield in place would definitely be one way to stall, if not stop, any Alliance aggression directed towards Silvermoon in general.

KALCHEUS ASKED:

Q4TQ: Are the Pink Elekks visible in the flaming version of Teldrassil, or do you need to Bronze Dragonflight it for the quest?

You can’t actually get to the flaming version of Teldrassil — it’s a flat painting, and if you try to fly out to it, you’ll just hit an invisible wall in the water. So for that particular quest, you’ll want to utilize the Bronze Dragonflight NPC in Darkshore and turn back the clock.

SALLY BOWLS ASKED:

Q: I missed the first round of warfronts: the alliance can currently queue for the scenario/WF and get the 340 per run. But what about the rares and world boss? Is that in the next phase, in a few days?

Yes — it flips back and forth. If you’re able to queue for Warfronts, or gather supplies to help the effort, that means you can’t get to the rares and world boss. If you can get to the rares and the world boss, that means you won’t be queuing for the Warfronts this time around. It flips back and forth on a fairly regular basis, so you won’t have to wait too long to do whichever aspect of Warfronts you want to be doing.

SOEROAH ASKED:

Q4tQ: Wasn’t there supposed to be some book about the Troll Wars coming out?

Kind of. A novel was discovered in the database of Amazon.de last year — World of Warcraft: Troll Wars by Paul S. Kemp. But there was never a US version of it, and the book was never released. In fact, the ISBN that Troll Wars was using was later assigned to Before the Storm. So there’s two possibilities here: First, the book was just a red herring for Before the Storm. It was a fake entry created just so the actual novel would be a surprise.

Second, and possibly more likely, is that this is an upcoming novel, but they decided to go with Before the Storm first in terms of publishing order. If that’s the case, we could actually see Troll Wars announced at some point in the near future (BlizzCon, maybe?) and released next year.

Personally, I’m hoping for the latter. Given all we’ve learned so far about Troll history in Battle for Azeroth, a novel that covered more Troll lore would be fantastic. Then again, the Troll Wars have little to do with current events — they primarily involved the Humans and High Elves coming together to fight the Amani Empire. That’s not exactly relevant to the stuff we’re learning right now.

So the real answer to your question is that we don’t know. Technically it was listed as an upcoming novel, but there were no news releases about it, and Blizzard hasn’t said anything about a potential new title with that name. It was never officially announced, and nothing has been said about whether it was supposed to exist, or will exist in the future. It makes for some great speculation…but that’s about all we can do right now — speculate.

That’s it for today’s Queue — if you have any questions you’d like to see answered, be sure to leave them in the comments below!
