Winter Wonderland adds Overwatch League Away skins

So, if you love watching the Overwatch League but feel like the Away skins that teams wear when playing on another team’s home turf are cleaner and work better — and I admit, there’s something elegant about the white look with the accents of the team colors that I really like — you’ll be pleased to know that they’re now available in Overwatch

The new skins have been added to the various team skins already in game, so if you’ve already bought, as an example, the Boston Uprising skins, you don’t have to do anything else. You’ll automatically get their Away skins the next time you log on. This applies to all the current Overwatch League skins available in the game, but since we can’t currently get any of the expansion team skins those Away skins will have to wait — those will be implemented before the second season starts on February 14th.

But for now, if you already have Overwatch League skins for any of the current teams — Seoul Dynasty, Shanghai Dragons, Dallas Fuel, Florida Mayhem, Houston Outlaws, Boston Uprising, Los Angeles Gladiators, Los Angeles Valiant, New York Excelsior, London Spitfire, Philadelphia Fusion, or the San Francisco Shock — then you’ll have those away skins as well.

If you don’t have any of those skins but now find yourself interested, they’re available for 100 League Tokens. The skins are per team and per hero, so if you want Brigitte’s Away skin for the San Francisco Shock and for the London Spitfire, you’ll have to spend 200 League Tokens — 100 per team per character. So if you’re a skin completionist you are going to end up needing quite a few League Tokens, but if you just want a new skin for your Genji then you can make the one purchase and be done.

I’m definitely looking forward to seeing the expansion teams’ away skins. I generally think those are the better skins anyway.
