The Queue: Tour guest

So how’s Torghast going for you all? The Shadestalkers this week are unbelievably overtuned, if you ask me, but whichever one doesn’t have them (totally blanking right now) feels a lot more difficult so. Rough week overall if you’re trying to push. I currently have a love/hate relationship with the place because hoo boy is it fun to get Catharsticks + health buffs and just one-shot things, but that build is dependent on, well, getting Catharsticks and health buffs. Without them, my runs feel like a non-starter.

Anyhow, enough about Torghast. Let’s Queue.

I LIED. HONORS HAMMER (TED) HAS A QUESTION ABOUT OUR FAVORITE HELL DUNGEON:

Anyone tried Torghast since its been buffed? I’m wondering if I should do a L2 run for some ash, or risk and L3 for a shot at my Legendary recipe.

If I remember correctly, Layer 2 was buffed recently, not Layer 3… so I’d go for Layer 3 and hope you get some good Anima Powers.

Also, time permitting, I’m always happy to tag along for a Torghast run on Horde (NA) side. My current best is Layer 7 (item level 180).

MISTER RIK ALSO INCLUDED A PIC OF THE ADVENTURE BOARD THINGY BUT I HAD TO CUT IT:

So do I have to do this Adventure in order to unlock Chapter 4 of the Kyrian campaign? Because I hit Renown 8 yesterday and there is still nobody offering me a story quest, and there’s nothing in my quest log except a quest to kill Devos in the Spires of Ascension dungeon.

Any of the Adventures that say “Campaign” are actually… not part of your Covenant campaign, as best as I can tell. It’s honestly a little confusing, but unless a quest specifically says “Complete this Adventure,” you’re probably safe just working on Renown and whatever quests your Covenant folks are giving you.

DRAKKENFYRE ASKS ABOUT YUMMY DELICIOUS FOOD:

A question:

Say you’re now able to conjure food/water like a Mage IRL, but for food you were limited to five each in fruits, vegetables, cheeses, and meats (the last in general, don’t have to get specific on the preparation.) And limited to five beverages overall.

What would you choose to conjure?

Oh man, this is a tough one. With the usual caveat that I may very well be forgetting something…

  • Fruits: Clementines, strawberries, raspberries, peaches, and limes.
  • Veggies: Garlic, onion, red pepper… uhmm… pumpkins. But mostly so I could carve them whenever I wanted.
  • Cheeses: White cheddar, Pepper Jack, mozzarella, and uhh… well those are my three favorites. Oh, actually provolone. I’ll let the fifth one be a surprise.
  • Meats: Tofu! It’s every meat. I’ll take mine in chicky nugg form, breaded, fried, or in miso.

ROXXII THE BELOVED WANTS TO KNOW ABOUT HOLIDAYS IN THE AFTERLIFE:

Happy Feast of Winter’s Veil!
Q4TQ: If the Shadowlands get’s holiday decorations, why?

Two answers, one less exciting than the other: First, because gameplay > lore. Sometimes, you just need to suspend your disbelief and roll with the fact that the current toughest boss in the game is wearing tiny hats on his horns.

The other answer is because these characters celebrated these holidays in life, and the afterlife (cruel though it may be) is at least kind enough to let them keep this vestige of their old life with them. When it comes to the Kyrian, I’m just gonna assume some Mawsworn with their memories decided to swoop in during the night and decorate, like some kind of evil, jolly Santa.

SPENCER MORGAN TAKES US BACK TO THE OLD WORLD:

So, is it possible to quest through western plaguelands as Alliance? I don’t recall where the damn breadcrumb quest is buried, and none of the NPCs are interested in giving me quests now.

If I remember correctly, most of that stuff starts at Chillwind Point for the Alliance. I haven’t tried with the new leveling system, but you used to be able to use the Adventure Guide or Command Boards to direct you to places. I imagine Chromie Time has changed that slightly, however…

In any case, try Chillwind Point. If not there, Andorhal.

ARTHONOS HAS BEEN DEFIED:

Q4tQ: Is there an aspect of Shadowlands that has completely defied your expectations, either in a positive or negative way? As someone who chose Venthyr for the aesthetics, I expected to hate hosting parties, yet the Ember Court is so interesting it has turned into one of the main things I look forward to each weekly reset.

It’s a bit harder answering this after playing the beta, but I think Maldraxxus is probably the place that I was most surprised by — for a couple reasons.

Before I ever played it, I had wildly different expectations for what it would be. I was not expecting a militaristic, “defenders of the Shadowlands”-style zone. I don’t entirely know what I expected, but it wasn’t that. So at first, that actually was a negative surprise, because military stuff isn’t usually my thing.

But then I was surprised once more at how much I still love Maldraxxus. Sure, it’s the military arm of the Shadowlands, but it doesn’t really feel like that. Also, the Campaign is shaping up to be way cooler than I expected.

As a side note, I wouldn’t say it “completely defied” my expectations, but the Adventure system has been… not as exciting as I’d hoped. It’s supposed to be an auto-battler, but without the turn-by-turn aspect, it’s just a more confusing Mission Table with a frustrating system that de-levels troops and has more information (like auto-attacks) available in the app than in the game. It has potential, but it’s not living up to it right now.

JAXDADDY CONTINUES TO HAVE A GREAT NAME:

What’s for supper, Queue? Bean ‘n’ beer chili and hot cornbread is in the making here.

I chose a bad day to answer this one, because last night, I had cereal. I almost went for breaded tofu and eggs, but um… I got lazy.

That’s our Queue for today. Join me next week as we celebrate almost-Winter Veil together! Also please ask Liz lots of questions <3
