The Queue: Nothing else happening at this hour

Let’s be real — this Queue goes live right as the 9.2 developer preview video does, and that’s probably all anyone will be talking about. So I’m just gonna dive right in.

When you hail from Eldritch dimensions, the concept of a family tree gets a little less rigid. So, yes and no. It gets a bad reputation for its “false” moniker, but we’re not outright enemies.

I would feel confused but at this point, I’d be okay with it. It makes no sense and it’s silly but h*ck it, let’s go Kirby.

I mean, if you make it a really fantastic skirt — and I believe our fish in this case would absolutely deserve the highest quality skirt — then the fish will just want to wear it naturally. And who cares how?! As long as that fish is in that skirt, you have a win, my friend.

I’m still sticking with my original prediction from back in July — 9.2 will be how reality gets rewritten ahead of 10.0. I don’t think that’s what we’ll learn today, but I think it’s what’s going to happen.

And I’m gonna swing big here and say that, yes, we’ll get confirmation of some kind that 9.2 is “the last major patch” for Shadowlands. It won’t be something they bring huge attention to, but it’s something they’ll make clear going into this: This is the end.

Normally I’d say PTR after the holidays, but we’re still a bit far out so… PTR goes up in 2 weeks (3 maximum).

It’s Aloy. I mean, it’s the story and the world and the way everything works so well together, but ultimately, it’s Aloy. She is such a good protagonist, through and through. The writers have done such a good job on this game, and even going into it knowing it was a GOTY-quality title, I’m still finding myself going, “…Holy shirt this game is so good.”

Lemme start with least favorite: Glinthawks. Those things are awful and annoying and far too plentiful late-game. Let me whack stuff with my spear, please.

Favorite? Oooh, this one is tougher. I love Tallnecks because they’re just cool and the first time you ever climb one is an experience in and of itself. I think for ones you actually fight, though, I like Thunderjaws and Deathbringers, because they’re both big and I can shoot off some REALLY fun/powerful guns from their bodies. (Note that I haven’t played the Frozen Wilds DLC at all, so I can’t speak to those enemies.)

Yes, we absolutely will — but it might not happen instantly. Not that it’s at all what you were going for, but every so often, we’ll have someone asking us why we haven’t posted about X or Y yet. And usually the answer is because we’re trying to figure out an angle that works for us and offers something beyond what a 6-bullet tweet can summarize. (Sometimes the answer is just that we’re all very busy people and trying to find the time, though.)

In any case, we’ll absolutely be covering 9.2 announcements! Some of it may come out sooner than others, some of it may get updated several times in the next 6 months, and some of it may be “breakout” posts that go out in real-time during the developer video.
