The Queue: Praise Yogg
Always praise Yogg. (Though social media N’Zoth is a gift we don’t deserve.)
While you praise, why not also Queue?
Hmm, where is that rainbow sword from?
That would be Spectrum, not to be confused with the cable company. I’d actually not heard of it before, but this description alone is amazing: This fantastical blade is the physical manifestation of unicorn smiles, bright rainbow colors, shooting star wishes, and teddy bear giggles.
Apparently it’s a very low drop from Whimsyshire/dale.
Q4tMitchQueue: now that we’ve seen the new priest talents, what do you think of your upcoming ability to pledge yourself your character to Yogg-Saron?
Honestly, I’m SO happy that they’ve added this. It’s something I’ve wanted for years, and I love the idea of (effectively) picking a patron, D&D style. I’m going to experiment with the other talents here and there, but I kind of have to go with Yogg no matter what — I’ve always said Yogg is my Old God, and now I can prove it.
Praise Yogg 💜🐙🖤
Q4tQ Should they have stuck a 5th Idol in the Shadow Priest talent tree to really mess with our heads?
If they REALLY wanted to mess with our heads, it would’ve been a fifth “NYI” talent so people could speculate what Old God it might be… only to never actually make it out of alpha. It was four all along, you fools!
But for real, I will say that the lack of G’huun here caught my attention. Not in a way that I think they intend to add him later, but more in the “Huh, I wonder if this is Developer Group 2.0’s way of drawing a line in the Old God sand” way. Granted, I could be falling into my own troll trap and over-thinking things, but it’s interesting to think about.
Do you agree with the take that the Shadow talent tree is awkward because Blizzard doesn’t want you picking two idols?
I don’t think I agree with it, because “picking an Old God” has been a thing for a much longer time than these talents, and I think it fits thematically with the actual in-game lore.
Now, as a player and from a mechanical standpoint, would I like to be able to spec into more than one? Sure! More is fun! Feeling forced to pick only one of four strong things is less fun (though… kind of what talents are right now).
If anything, it might be nice to pick up a “lesser” version of one of the other Old God talents, just so you can pick your top 2. But am I going to lose sleep over it? Nah. I’ve always been a servant of Yogg, and the roleplayer in me likes that I can wholly dedicate myself to that.
Q4tQ: What game is currently holding your interest? Did you grab anything from the summer sales to play later?
I haven’t even looked at the Steam Summer Sale in years because I’ve learned my lesson. When I complete the previous on-sale titles, I’ll take a peek again.
That said, The Quarry and Arclight Rumble have been holding my interest lately. The former is a lot of good, spooky fun that you can have couch co-op style, the latter is… well, it’s probably designed a bit for folks like me. Whether that’s a good thing or bad thing is in the eye of the player, but I’m really hooked on it so far.
Can I join the blockade? My FFXIV character is a built cato boi.
Outside of Splatfests themselves, which are just kind of fun and a big draw for me, I love the (no pun intended) fluidity of the movement. It’s very fun zooming around in ink, popping up, and then splatting your enemy. Plus, it’s all super cute!
Uhhh… Sure, I guess? I’m willing to try anything as long as it’s vegetarian (still eat cheese and such!) but I won’t force myself to like it if it’s not a taste I enjoy.
That’s our Queue for the day! I’m off to do things that are less exciting than praising Yogg, but in the meantime, please be sure to leave questions for tomorrow’s writer!
