The Queue: All about the underworld!

HADES 2!

I think this was the biggest surprise from the game awards last night! Supergiant hasn’t done a sequel to one of their games yet, so it was a good bet that they’d move on to some new interesting thing. I’ve put many many hours into playing the Supergiant games, and even more hours into listening to the soundtracks. Darren Korb and Ashley Barrett have such wonderful musical harmony together that I cannot wait to hear what they do for this.

Oh, I guess there was another game about the underworld that might’ve gotten a launch date last night. Diablo 4 is cool (hot) and all, and I’m gonna Druid it up to the max in it when it comes out, but that was definitely not as exciting as the HADES announcement to me.

While I try and figure out how to cryogenically freeze myself until HADES 2 comes out, it’s time for — The Queue!

FAREWELL TO ALL THE EARTHLY RJAGODA

2 Qs for Liz:

1) How do you feel about the M+ pool for Season 1? Court of Stars RP gives me pause, and Halls of Valor first boss tornadoes gives me nightmares.

2) Despite all the rep grinds, do you feel like there’s not much to do after hitting cap without daily WQs?

Haha surprise, I’m not Liz!

It’s not the RP in Court of Stars that gives me pause, it’s the rumor that we’ll have to clear more of the trash in the final area to reach the percentage count. Some of that stuff really sucked! Thankfully I did also hear a rumor that stuff in Halls of Valor won’t hit so hard. So I’m crossing my fingers really hard on that. I remember the left boss who did the holy/lightning damage depending on where you moved her really being awful on Tyrannical.

There isn’t quite as much stuff to do as in past expansions since there are no expansion-long grinds. I don’t know that I hate it though. I am missing repeatable dungeons which fill up some of that time, but there are lots of other games and things for me to do so it’s nice not worrying about an Aspect Power grind.

NO BURDENS, NO FURTHER ELAINE DE SHALOTTS TO BE PAID

Animal has the best jokes of the night.

It’s very unfair putting the Muppets into any kind of award show because they’re just better at being personalities than 99% of people. Keegan Michael Key, a very funny person who has made a career out of being a very funny person, seemed like he was struggling to get through his bit. Meanwhile Animal got massive laughs for saying a single word.

Muppets should just host everything.

KRALD CAN REST HIS WEARY BONES, THE WEIGHT OF THE WORLD ALL FALLS AWAY

Blizzard please …. expand the quest log or make your team chill out with the quests….

I wholeheartedly agree.

At this point, there are too many things to do per zone and multiple hubs that can hand out a bunch of quests at once. Why limit us in this way? All of the quests break down by zone anyways so they’re not that hard to sort through. It’s a bad hold-over and I would like it to go away.

MR. PRONOUNCED JæKSDæDI, ESQ GOODBYE TO ALL THE PLANS THAT WE MADE

QftQ: When did you know that you really were living in the future and is the world anything like you thought it would be?

I’m still waiting I think!

The future always seemed fancier. Sure self-driving cars are gonna be here within ten years or so, but we’re never going to get flying cars until all of the bugs are worked out of those. Jetpacks are right out.

Those always seemed like the big ones for day-to-day life. Space colonies and asteroid mining would be another big step, but those are way far away and I’ll be lucky to see them in my lifetime.

I guess it just kind of feels like the world is the world. Even for all of our fancy tech that can use the cloud to move data around.

NO SLEEP EXCEPT TO DREAM MILD AND WARM SAFE FROM ALL RJAGODA

I don’t care what anyone says, Nathanos is amazing, and I’d gladly put him up against any equal stature NPC in terms of story/VA/etc.

There is something to be said for a well-crafted jerk of a character. He’s always going to be someone that you wouldn’t like to actually hang out with. But sometimes that’s what a story needs!

Look at professional wrestling heels. Having someone to root against can do great things for a community.

That being said I do miss him too. Piggybacking on Mitch’s answer earlier I don’t think I would trade someone like Baine for him back. I can’t even think of a character that I would trade that’s occupying the same tier of liking this character in my mind that I would trade. He’s not my favorite, but I don’t hate him. Maybe Saurfang?

RETPALLYJIL THEY’VE COME AND GONE AND PASSED ME BY

Q4tQ:

Are you really joining Team Lore Nerd?

Another question that was meant for Liz that I’m stealing!

No, I don’t think I can swing it. I have the vaguest understanding of things that happen in the game. I have a lot of half-remembered things that rattle around in my head and sometimes they shake loose. I can’t come close to competing with Joe and Matt, but I can sure fake it convincingly sometimes!

Today’s Anna Liz Earworm™: Good Riddance

Have a great weekend everyone, and I feel like Liz would want you to hug your pets — while also leaving her lots of things to answer for Monday’s Queue.
