How to redeem the Battle Pass unlock from the Diablo 4 Deluxe and Ultimate Editions

Season 1 of Diablo 4 is upon us soon, and with Season 1 — along with Malignant monsters and new powerful gear — comes the Battle Pass with all its various rewards. The Battle Pass has both free and paid tracks, and though the Season Blessings buffs, which speed up your progress through the Season, are available on the free pass, the paid Battle Pass offers a lot of additional cosmetic rewards.

And if you purchased Diablo 4‘s Deluxe or Ultimate Editions, you can unlock the paid tier of the Battle Pass for no extra charge: Deluxe includes the Premium Battle Pass and Ultimate includes the Accelerated Battle Pass (which includes 20 tier skips). You’re not required to spend this unlock right away on Season 1 — Blizzard has confirmed that you can save it for future seasons — but if you want to use your Battle Pass unlock on Season 1’s Battle Pass, this is how you do it.

All Battle Pass upgrades are done is via the in-game shop. Navigate to Seasons in the menu and select the option to activate your Battle Pass. You can also use the shop to buy tier skips for 200 Platinum per tier (remember, the Ultimate Edition gets 20 of these skips automatically). While skipping a tier may reward Smoldering Ashes for Seasonal Blessings, Blizzard has confirmed that those have level requirements to use, so spending real money isn’t necessarily going to get you to Season Blessings any faster than anyone else.

If you’d rather not worry about doing it ahead of time, in-game screenshots seem to indicate that you can make the move from the Free to Premium tier of the Battle Pass at any time via the new Season section of the in-game menu; however, we don’t actually know if you can redeem your Deluxe or Ultimate Edition Battle Pass unlock this way, and the shop will let you get a head-start on the process, making it the most reliable method.
