How to unlock the profession table in Azj-Kahet

Now that crafted gear in World of Warcraft can potentially keep up with Mythic and even high-level PVP loot, professions are once again relevant beyond their value for achievements, transmogs, and novelty items. With great power, howeve, comes … a modicum of regulation, apparently, as Blizzard has only seen fit to place a handful of profession tables in the game for our use.

If you have already gained access to the direct portal from Dornogal to the Weaver’s Lair (or if you happen to be an engineer), then the addition of a profession table in Azj-Kahet may not seem the most useful thing in the world, but since it’s only a few hundred spidercoins and unlocks for all your alts at once, it’s probably worth a look.

Raise your reputation

The first thing you’ll need to do is raise your reputation with either of the three Severed Threads leaders—the General, the Vizier, or the Weaver—to Collaborator standing (that’s Rank 4 of 9). If you’re not there yet, make sure you pick up your Warband’s Pact quest each Tuesday before you head out into Azj-Kahet, and you’ll have it within a few weeks at most.

Purchase the profession table

Once you’ve got enough rep, head over to Yamas the Provider in the Weaver’s Lair (/way 55.2, 41.4) and hand over 500 Kej for an item called Weaver’s Lair Profession Table. You can use this item from anywhere, but you must leave the Weaver’s Lair and come back again before you can complete the next step.

Build your crafting table of choice

After you have left the immediate area and returned, a new NPC named Ak’itaz should appear beneath an awning at /way 56.6, 46.0 in the Weaver’s Lair. Speak with them to build your choice of crafting tables there.

Step 5: Profit!

From this (admittedly nondescript) profession table, you should be able to do anything you can from the tables in Dornogal or Valdrakken, including public and patron crafting orders. This profession choice can be made independently on each alt, and swapping between each one is free and immediate, so don’t feel locked into any one choice!
