Season of Discovery Phase 6 launches on November 21, paving the way for Ahn’Qiraj
World of Warcraft Classic Season of Discovery keeps the ball rolling and will launch Phase 6 on November 21 at 1pm pacific time! Ahn’Qiraj takes center stage at the start of Phase 6 but players will be able to prepare for the coming war by starting the Scepter of the Shifting Sands questline in Silithus, which goes live on November 12 after reset. This questline required a significant amount of time and group coordination to complete in vanilla and Classic WoW and it’s reasonable to assume the same in Season of Discovery.
There is a lot to cover in Phase 6’s opening weeks, let’s take a look at what to expect and when it will happen!
What is happening in Season of DiscoveryPhase 6?
- November 21 — Ahn’Qiraj War Effort begins 1pm pacific time
- November 29 — Ahn’Qiraj War Effort ends, likely at the daily reset
- December 4
- Anubisath and the Qiraji open world battles begin
- Black Qiraji Resonating Crystal becomes earnable
- December 6 — Ahn’Qiraj raids and Dragons of Nightmare
- Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj — 10-player raid, twice weekly reset
- Temple of Ahn’Qiraj — 20-player raid, weekly reset
The first event of Phase 6 is the Ahn’Qiraj War Effort which goes live with the rest of the phase on November 21 and will run through November 29, likely ending at the daily reset. There will be a small pause until December 4 when players can battle Anubisath and the qiraji in two different places — The Barrens and Thousand Needles for low-level players and Silithus, Tanaris, and Feralas for high-level players. These terms are pretty broad and until we get more information, we can assume that you’ll need to be at least the recommended level of the zone you’re fighting in. Players who take part in beating back the qiraji will earn gold, rare gear, experience, reputation with the Brood of Nozdormu.
Players who complete the Scepter of the Shifting Sands questline between December 4 1pm pacific and December 6 1pm pacific time will earn the Black Qiraji Resonating Crystal which summons a rideable Qiraji mount in the open world and within the Temple of Ahn’Qiraj.
The climax of the event begins December 6 at 1pm when the gates of Ahn’Qiraj open and both Ahn’Qiraj raids go live — the Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj as a 10-player raid with a twice weekly reset timer, and the Temple of Ahn’Qiraj as a 20-player raid with on a weekly reset timer. The Dragons of Nightmare will also be available as raid instances. Players can group up and enter any of the Emerald Grove portals to tackle one of the dragons and there will be a mechanism that helps players then move to the other dragon encounters in a quick succession.
Silithus and Ahn’Qiraj may be the main focus of Phase 6 at the beginning but don’t forget that Naxxramas, which was left out of this announcement, still looms in the future. We’ll probably get more information as the war effort concludes, we’ll keep this article updated with all of the information we learn as Phase 6 rolls out on November 21!
