Get rewards in WoW and D4 for buying Doritos and Mountain Dew
Mountain Dew (or, as it has since been rebranded, MTN DEW) has done promotional events in the past with World of Warcraft, most notably the one from 2009 that gave us the Warbot battle pet. Well, Doritos and MTN DEW are back again, bringing with them a plethora of goods for both World of Warcraft and Diablo 4, and I’m going to cover what exactly you need to do to get them. Don’t worry, this one isn’t going to cost you any gold — no, this one hits your actual wallet instead.
Perhaps the most important thing to note regarding this promotion is this: currently this promotion is only technically available in the United States, the District of Columbia, and Guam. The official site is region locked to this location, however the actual codes themselves that can be gained through the promotional site appear to be region free to be redeemed via Battle.net.
What can you get?
- 100 Points: Diablo 4: Battle Pass Tier Skip (1 level)
- 200 Points: Diablo 4: Dueling Dervish weapon skin
- 200 Points: Diablo 4: Savoring Glaive weapon skin
- 200 Points: Diablo 4: Thirsting Bird weapon skin
- 200 Points: Diablo 4: Man Opener weapon skin
- 300 Points: World of Warcraft: Bot Wrangler’s Violet Apron
- 300 Points: World of Warcraft: Bot Wrangler’s Crimson Apron
- 300 Points: World of Warcraft: Bot Wrangler’s Belt
- 400 Points: World of Warcraft: Chillbot 9000 battle pet
- 400 Points: World of Warcraft: Thrillbot 9000 battle pet
- 400 Points: World of Warcraft: Lil’ Ragnaros battle pet
- 400 Points: Diablo 4: Verdant Pool portal skin
- 600 Points: World of Warcraft: Hateforged Blazecycle mount
At this time you can only claim 5 MTN DEW, 5 Doritos, and 5 Rockstar Energy codes per day (which begins at 12 midnight EST). I want to stress this now because the Hateforged Blazecycle mount is 600 points and many of the MTN DEW 20oz bottles only give 100 points each (you can find a list of all of the point totals here on Wowhead, or in the official terms on the promotional site). I’d avoid buying Doritos for this promotion (unless you were really planning to buy them anyhow), because they’ve once again put the redemption codes on the outside of the bag, leading to reports of codes already being redeemed by people who took pictures of the bags at the grocery store — something that has been an issue with these Doritos promotions since the Halo 3 days.
So you’ve gone to your local Walmart and grabbed 5 bottles of Purple Thunder, now what? Head over to the official MTN DEW Gaming page and click “Enter Codes” on the left hand side. From here you can create an account, and once that account is created you’ll enter your codes (which on 20oz bottles are under the cap). Once you have entered your codes and gotten your cool points, head over to the Market (which I am linking here due to the link appearing to not work sometimes), and from here you can pick and choose what you want to get. Select “Redeem Now,” confirm your choice, and you’ll be emailed a key to enter on Battle.net.
