Whether you prefer TMNT or prehistoric shop sims, stay warm inside with this week’s game suggestions!
Our gaming plans for this weekend are to stay inside and keep warm, and our game recommendations for the week includes some nostalgia, adorable dinosaurs, and grabber claw machines. So if you’re looking for something new to keep yourself occupied this weekend, here are our game recommendations.
New release: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles seem to be having a resurgence in the last few years — and that’s not a bad thing! Splintered Fate is what happens when Hades and TMNT have a baby: you get a roguelike action game that includes multiplayer! Pick your favorite Turtle, fight through levels, gain powerups, and save Master Splinter before it’s too late.
Get Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate for $30 on Steam.
New release (Early Access): Dungeon Clawler
By now, I’m sure you’ve noticed a trend — I really like roguelike deckbuilding games. Dungeon Clawler is another one of these games, but instead of using dice or pachinko, we get to use a grabber claw! As you travel through the dungeon, collect items by defeating monsters and besting the dungeon’s pachinko machines, filling your grabber claw game with only the best items to destroy the final boss. With multiple characters to choose from and the absolute randomness of a claw game, this should be fun! Note that this is an Early Access title, so the game may change quite a bit before its full launch.
Get Dungeon Clawler for $9 on Steam.
New-ish release: Amber Isle
Amber Isle is what happens when you take Animal Crossing, replace your villagers with dinosaurs, and oh yeah, you’re actually running Nook’s Cranny. If that went over your head, that’s okay: Amber Isle is a cartoon-styled crafting and shop management game where you play as the town’s shopkeep; you adventure, collect items to sell in your shop, customize your shop and character, and make friends with the dino villagers. With an absolutely adorable art style, and the chance to be your own cute dino person, what’s not to love here?
Get Amber Isle for $19 on Steam.
Heck of a Good Deal: November’s Humble Choice
Humble Choice — previously Humble Monthly — is a monthly subscription service wherein you pay $12 a month and get eight different games, usually all on Steam. Each month there’s typically one major headline title, and then the other titles can be a smattering of different genres; sometimes the month is really good, and sometimes it’s a bit of a letdown, it all depends on what you’re into. Once subscribed, you can pause a month or cancel at any point, and you get to keep everything you’ve actually paid for, so it can be a great way to pick up some games on the cheap. This month the headline title(s) are Warhammer 40k: Darktide (a multiplayer class-based shooter) and Persona 4 Golden (an absolutely amazing RPG), but in addition to that there is also Cassette Beasts (turned-based Pokemon-style RPG), The Bookwalker: Thief of Tales (an isometric RPG/puzzle game) and The Lamplighter’s League (an adventure game with turn-based combat). Don’t miss out on this month’s games!
Get November’s Humble Choice for $12 at Humble Bundle.
