Everything you’ll need to collect before starting the Felcycle mount secret journey (that we know of, so far)
As part of the World of Warcraft 20th Anniversary, a Secrets of Azeroth bonus event was released that rewards Incognitro, the Indecipherable Felcycle and the Feat of Strength achievement Ratts’ Revenge. All you have to do is solve this secret first — and the community is still searching for the answers. So far, there are solutions for the first eight steps of the puzzle, and we’ll update this guide as we learn more. But we already know solving this secret will take a lot of questing, collecting, and exploring. You’ll need to have certain pets, mounts, toys, and even transmog appearances to complete certain steps, and you may need to complete quests to unlock areas, phases, or game features.
Though this quest isn’t timegated — it will remain in the game even after the anniversary event ends — and there are no class or race restrictions, some of the items you need may be seasonal, locked behind expansion content, or only be available to a particular class. You may find there’s quite a lot you need to unlock before you can make much progress. To help out, we’ve compiled a list of things you’ll need to track down before finishing this quest, so you can be ready to snap up this secret as soon as it’s solved.
Zones and game features to unlock
To start on your path to the Indecipherable Felcycle, you’ll want to unlock:
- The Garrison in Warlords of Draenor
- Tanaan Jungle in Warlords of Draenor
- The Heart of Azeroth artifact in Battle for Azeroth
- Visions of N’Zoth in Battle for Azeroth
- Access to covenants in Shadowlands (note that the Maw skip is currently broken)
- Access to Azj-Kahet in The War Within
You can skip some of these unlocks if you have someone who can summon you to the zone in question, but others don’t have a shortcut.
Everything you need to complete the anniversary secret
These are the items required to complete each stage of this secret, as well as any specific constraints to collect them, and whether they can be purchased on the Auction House (if you would rather spend the gold instead of the time).
