WoW’s 20th anniversary event may be over, but the Felcycle mount (and Detective title) are still available

Even though WoW’s 20th anniversary event is now over, its secrets remain. Even if you hadn’t started working through any of the secret events previously, you can still obtain the Incognitro, the Indecipherable Felcycle mount (and the Detective title, too). Most of the things you need to gather to unlock the secret (and the Felcycle) existed outside the anniversary event, and are still there — but several key components were linked to the anniversary event and the celebration grounds outside the Caverns of Time and had to be relocated. Alyx is conveniently located in Dornogal now, and everything is still available for you to chase down all of these secrets.

Here’s what you need to know to get started on the path to the Felcycle mount.

Collect Celebration Crates to earn the Detective title

Before you can start working on the Felcycle, you need to unlock the Detective title and collect the toys that make up your detecting toolbox, which requires you to complete the 20th Anniversary Guest Relations meta-achievement Azeroth’s Greatest Detective. Two of the required achievements aren’t available now that the event is over (you can’t complete  Assistant to the Assistant Guest Relations Manager or I Saved the Party and All I Got Were These Lousy Hats), but there are still two achievements that are available: Crate Insurance Agent, and No Crate Left Behind.

That means you’re off to collect celebration crates from all over Azeroth. Start by finding Alyx in Dornogal, northeast of Delver’s Headquarters or down the stairs from Foundation Hall. Fortunately, she’s brought her bulletin board with her as most of the create collecting chests will start from a note pinned to her board, though there are a couple of exceptions. We have a guide on where to find all of the Celebration Chests; once you find a chest you just will need to bring it back to Alyx to complete the quest.

Where to get the secret-finding toys you need to find Celebration Chests

To collect the Celebration Chests (and to access the Felcycle and complete several of the clues), you will need several toys that were rewards during the 20th Anniversary event, or a suitable replacement. Fortunately a suitable replacement is easy to find, and you may already have it: if you played through Dragonflight and you may have earned these toys before as part of the Secrets of Azeroth event from patch 10.1.5. But if you didn’t get your secret-finding gear then, you can start now by going to see Preservationist Kathos who is located in The Roasted Ram in Valdrakkan. The starting quest is Preserving Rarities.

You don’t need to complete the entire quest chain to unlock the toys, but you should feel free to do so — because why not! The items you need to collect are as follows:

What next?

Once you have the toys, you can collect the Celebration Chests, and once you have the Detective title you can start your journey into the madness that is the Felcycle secret. At time of writing we have only unlocked nine out of the twelve “locks” that are part of this meta secret. The nine locks we have opened so far are sufficient to earn the Felcycle, but there are hints that further stages of this secret will come in a later patch. Given Ratt’s crazy inventions — we may learn more when patch 11.1 goes live.
