How to join the first Wildgate playtest between April 10 to April 14

Moonshot Games, one of the Dreamhaven game development studios, is launching the first Community Preview playtest for their upcoming game, Wildgate, which will begin April 10 at 9AM pacific time and ending on April 14 at 5PM pacific time.
If you’re interested in playtesting Wildgate, here’s how you can sign-up for a chance to play and what you need to know if you’re selected!
How do I sign up for the Wildgate playtest?
If you want to sign up for the playtest, simply go to the Wildgate sign-up page and provide your e-mail, indicate the platform you want to play on, and the geographical region you’re playing from.
The playtest FAQ does note that the only regions able to participate in the playtest are North America, South America, Europe, and APAC (Asia-Pacific).
This playtest will have a player limit and signing up does not guarantee you’ll get in.
What do I do if I’m selected for the playtest?
Selected players will receive an e-mail before the playtest begins and be asked to complete a registration process. Here, players will be able to choose singular platform to playtest on and one key will be provided. The playtest will take place on the following platforms:
- Steam (PC)
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox Series X/S
The Wildgate Preview client is 9.5 GB but you won’t be able to pre-download it before the 9AM start time. Selected players can take screenshots and videos, livestream, and talk about the game if they make it into the playtest.
There are limited playtest keys and when a platform runs out of available keys, then it will be grayed out. After the key is claimed, players will also be provided with one additional code to invite a friend to play with them. There isn’t any additional information on how this works but once the playtest goes live we’ll update you with the final details.
What can I expect from the playtest?
The “full” Wildgate game is available for testing, meaning players can join the Tutorial, Firing Range, and 20-player PVPVE matches against other live humans. If you’d rather queue “solo” for the PVPVE matches, you can choose the “Practice vs. AI” mode, though you’ll need at least one other live player on your crew to play. Cross play is supported during the playtest!
Since Wildgate is an online game, servers will be up for duration of the testing period with no planned downtime or breaks, though because this is a beta, bugs and crashes could happen. If you encounter any in-game bugs or would like to share feedback, the Dreamhaven team has invited all players to use their Discord or the Wildgate Player Support portal for any help needed.
There are minimum and recommended PC technical specs but these are the only applicable for the Community Preview, meaning some benchmarks may change before the release.
If you weren’t selected or able to participate this time around, Moonshot is keeping the possibility open for additional playtests in the future. Should that happen, we’ll let you know so you don’t miss out!
