Mists of Pandaria Classic beta testing has started and you can still sign up to participate

Mists of Pandaria Classic is launching later this summer and to prepare for the change, Blizzard has begun beta testing Mists Classic content! Interested players have been able to sign-up to join the beta test for the last few weeks and if you haven’t, you can still sign up!
Here’s how you to sign up for the Mists of Pandaria Classic beta and what you can expect if you get access.
How to sign up for the Mists of Pandaria Classic beta test
Players can opt-in to the beta by heading to the Mists of Pandaria Classic landing page and clicking the green “Beta Opt-In” button that appears. This will take you to another page where you need to click the orange “Request Beta Access” tab where you will be prompted to sign into your Battle.net account. After signing in, you’ll be re-directed to the Classic landing page and the green beta button should now have a checkmark next to it. Selected players will be able to download the Mists of Pandaria Classic beta through the WoW Classic game version drop-down tab in the Battle.net launcher.
What is available during the beta test and how long will it be available
The Mists of Pandaria Classic beta test will release content in waves. During this first phase of beta testing, players will have access to level 1-85 content (Classic through Cataclysm Classic), the Wandering Isle and Pandaren stating area, the Monk class, and Theramore’s Fall Scenario. You can create new characters or copy over your existing characters from Cataclysm Classic. In the future, players will be able to access the level 85-90 content and Pandaria, pet battles, and battlegrounds. We don’t know when this content will come but it sounds like Blizzard may add more activities to the beta each week.
We don’t know how long the beta will be around for as the most information we have about the Mists of Pandaria Classic release is from the WoW Classic 2025 roadmap Blizzard published, which tells us Mists Classic has a summer 2025 launch window. Our guess is that the Mists pre-patch will launch in July based on the roadmap, and assuming that is correct, we can expect the beta to last sometime through June, which gives Blizzard about two months to test Mists of Pandaria Classic content.
Hopefully this is enough testing time to provide good feedback and data for an easy transition to Mists of Pandaria Classic because, queue issues aside, most Classic expansions have had smooth launches. The exception was Cataclysm Classic which notably did not have a pre-patch event and was riddled with bugs before launch, during, and after launch.
We’ll keep you updated on all of the Mists of Pandaria Classic beta as Blizzard rolls out more phases of testing, so if you’re interested be sure to stay tuned here.
