The Queue: Happy birthday to my favorite person!

It’s my favorite person’s birthday! Everyone, make sure you wish them a super happy birthday!
They’re pretty special and deserve it.
While I finish wrapping a gift that I was definitely told not to get them, it’s time for — The Queue!
Q4tQ: now that we know some older achievements will grant housing items, what decor do you most want to see from the older expansions?
This might be a stretch, but I want a bunch of creepy void stuff from Legion and BfA. If I come back, I want to make my shadow priest’s home look like the void area of the Netherlight Temple.
It’s gonna be all Old Gods and Venthyr all the time!
My house is going to be an altar to the madness out in the universe and vampires and it will be glorious. All deep purples and reds and too many eyeballs and blood. Maybe eyeballs made out of blood, who knows!
Alternatively, it’ll use a lot of the spooky Undead architecture. I can’t help it, I just like spooky gross things, and I’m going to make it every house guest and homeowners association’s problem.
Nightfall is working at the moment
That’s weird, night always falls where I’m from. No 24 hours of sun here, I’m north — but I’m not that north!
So… A horse, a priest, and a rabbi walk into a bar…
A priest, a minister, and a rabbit walk into a blood bank. The rabbit says, “I think I’m a type-O.”
Hi if you’re being held hostage say hi back
Imagine being held at gunpoint (bear with me) by a literate animal, and the only hope of rescue is (BEAR WITH ME) sending a coded message.
Cat question:
Do you think WoW Saberon are similar enough to cats, that if you set down a box or drew a square on the floor with heavy chalk, they would sit in it or feel compelled to sit in it?
They’re pretty smart, so I don’t think they’d just sit in a box or a circle randomly without knowing why. I think it’d be an unconscious feeling of liking sitting in those places more than anywhere else. Like when humans ascribe something to our lizard brain, liking a feeling. A piece of long-buried instinct that still pays out a little serotonin.
I liked The Kaiju Preservation Society a lot more than Starter Villain, but I’ve been reading Scalzi for a long time – I started with Old Man’s War, which I only heard about from an article about best opening lines in books. I still need to pick up the moon cheese book, though.
I really liked Redshirts! Old Man’s War was good, but I’ve never searched out the rest of the series. The Kaiju Preservation Society is on my list to get to someday, I do like giant monsters — I am human after all.
The best opening line in books is always the one from the first Stephen King Dark Tower novel. “The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed.” It’s got it all, a sense of events happening prior to the start of the book, a complete encapsulation of the whole series, and enough ambiguity on who the good guy is to make you wonder. Sure, most of the time in Westerns, people who wore all black were the bad guys, but there are enough examples of good guys all in black that it isn’t a sure thing — plus gunslingers could go either way.
This was too silly a painting to leave sitting in a store. Eventually, it will grace the walls of my brother’s house, but until then, Bacardi gets to think about life as Catzilla, eater of sharks. Obviously, this has put him in a pretty good mood so you’re all but guaranteed to get some flashy loot in your vaults this week!
