The Queue: Another day in the login queue

Just another day waiting to play video games, am I right?

Well, while we’re all waiting here together, let’s chat.

KALCHEUS ASKED:

Q4tQ What ranged weapon works best with the fox or raccoon costume?

I would go with Orchid Bow-quet, but that doesn’t work if you didn’t do the Noblegarden egg grind last week. (This bow is so charming that even I picked it up, despite not actively playing a hunter.)

I dare you to all to come up with a better idea than this, because you can’t.

HIGH DENSITY WAFFLE ASKED:

2 lunches enter: grilled cheese VS spaghetti in a can

Grilled cheese.

MUSEDMOOSE ASKED:

Q4tLizQueue: what are your thoughts on the necromancer in the new Diablo IV season? I decided to play one, went full shadow with no minions, and I’m enjoying it so far. Now I just need to kill the death world boss so I can get the power that triggers when you channel and just go full death beam.

I have only played a bit of the season so far, but I think the class is in a fair place — neither the best nor the worst. Blood Wave was hit with nerfs, but the build was so overpowered that it frankly deserved them. There are other good builds.

However, it’s the beginning of a season, and that means bugs. Minions are bugged (again), this time not generating corpses or resources like they’re supposed to. I’m still low level, this isn’t noticeable, but it’s one of those things minion builds will feel at high difficulty levels. Minion builds are traditionally great for leveling and mediocre for end-game play, but I’m a fan of my minion army, and unfortunately minion bugs are common. It really wouldn’t be a new Diablo 4 season without new minion bugs.

The boss powers look neat, but I have a subpar selection and haven’t had a chance to play with them.

There’s too much going on to keep up with it all!

JALAMENOS ASKED:

Why Children’s Week and no Tired Middle Aged Person’s Week?
I want a random adventurer to take me places and buy me cotton candy.

Children’s Week is Tired Middle Aged Person’s week. Why do you think we’re so tired?

RED ASKED:

Q4Liz: have you tried the new HSBGs season? How are you finding it so far? Parachuting murlocs, cute cats and ugly cats living together, mass hysteria?

I have played it even less than I’ve played the new Diablo 4 season (why does everything have to happen at the same time??) but so far so good. I like the new minion borders more than I expected to. It’s such a little cosmetic change, but it’s very handy.

I did just win first place as Forest Lord Cenarius with dragons.

DISHSOAP ASKED:

watching any good shows lately?
got any current comfort shows?

I started watching Silo on apple. it’s pretty good! that’s after trying Hello Tomorrow! on apple which was..not great. I wanted to like it, the premise seemed good, the story is..well I can’t find it.

comfort shows, to my surprise, Star Trek the next generation. Also revisiting Schitts Creek (feelin the CBC love after Monday)

I’m very come and go from TV, in which something will catch my eye and I’ll binge watch it three times and then I’ll forget TV exists for several months.

Currently I am waiting on Murderbot to hit Apple TV on May 16. But if I stop to think about how much hope I have pinned on this show, I will cease to function, so let’s move on.

Comfort shows? I’ve gotta agree with you on Star Trek: The Next Generation. I am a nerd of a certain age, and this was the Trek I grew up watching, that defined Star Trek for me. It’s not that I dislike other Star Trek, but something about TNG was formative. It is always comforting to watch, even the episodes that I know are awful. And there’s something comforting, too, about watching something you already know well. That’s Star Trek all over.

Maybe The Good Place, too.

ARTHONOS ASKED:

With today being the last day of April, any games coming out in May that you are looking forward to?

I have such a backlog of games I’m not allowed to look forward to new games! I still have Baldur’s Gate 3 to play, which I was waiting on the new patch for, but now the new patch has come and gone and I still haven’t found the time.

Also I am still wholly obsessed with Blue Prince.

But I’m really not keeping tabs on anything. Is there anything out there I should be watching out for? (And maybe continuing to push back BG3 for?)

And that’s all for now, my friends. I hope you’re having a good week (as good a week as you can have at the half-way point) that is full of great games — after all, we’ve got a lot of options to play right now!

I’ll see you back here next week!
