How much does it cost to buy all the items in Diablo 4 Season 8 Reliquaries?

Starting from Season 8, Blizzard redesigned the Diablo 4 Battle Pass. The new system is called Reliquaries, and within a Reliquary you can purchase items (in any order you like) using an in-game currency called Favor, which you simply earn as you play. (Much like you used to earn favor to progress through the Battle Pass.) You can also buy each reward individually using the cash currency platinum, but we don’t recommend it, as the prices are quite high (and they’re on top of the platinum you pay to unlock Premium Reliquaries in the first place.) One season-themed Reliquary is free each season, but unlocking the premium Reliquaries will cost platinum — or you can buy the Battle Pass, which bundles all of the Reliquaries together for a discounted cost (1ooo Platinum for the Premium Battle Pass, 2800 Platinum for the Deluxe Battle Pass). But even these premium Reliquaries have one freebie, with one item available even if you don’t purchase it. When you buy everything in a Reliquary, you also get a bonus reward at no extra cost (this season, each bonus reward is part of an armor set).

But beyond these seasonal Reliquaries, there can also be Reliquaries for special events. The first event Reliquary is now live for the Diablo 4 x Berserk collab. Like the rest, this Reliquary has items available for purchase, using an event-specific currency that drops from elite mobs — and we can probably expect the same for future events. But this does mean you can earn currency for both sets of collectibles in parallel.

Here are the Reliquaries available in Diablo 4 Season 8, and how much all of the rewards will cost you.

Free Battle Pass Reliquary: Belial’s Return (35 favor tokens total)

This tier is available for free to all players, and items only cost favor tokens.

Event Reliquary: Diablo 4 X Berserk Event Reliquary (500 Behelit currency total)

The Berserk Event is now live, and event items are purchased using an event-specific currency called Behelit, these are a random drop from Elite enemies. Note that your pet will not pick these up automatically (at least as of the time of writing), so you need to collect them manually.

These freebies aren’t the only new Berserk cosmetics available: there are also new armor sets, a mount, and a pet in the in-game store for various platinum prices.

What’s the total cost of Diablo 4 Season 8 Reliquaries?

If you want all of the rewards this season, you have to buy the Deluxe Battle Pass for 2800 platinum to unlock the cosmetic wings and extra owl pet. But if you’re content with just getting most of the rewards, the Premium Battle Pass will get you everything else for 1000 platinum. You can also buy just a single Reliquary if it has the rewards you want — they cost 200, 500, and 800 platinum, respectively — but remember that there’s a seasonal armor set that is unlocked via bonus rewards from finishing each Reliquary. If you want to collect all of the rewards, the Battle Pass is the best choice.

Unlocking all of the items in each of these Reliquaries costs a 197 favor, which you can earn simply by playing the game. Favor doesn’t accrue very quickly, but you can expect to unlock rewards with about the same speed as the old Battle Pass system. But if you want to rush through the rewards, most of them can be unlocked at an additional platinum cost. If you prefer to pay, you can unlock all rewards with 41 favor and 7800 platinum, in addition to the cost of unlocking the Reliquaries. (We really don’t recommend this option.)

The Berserk event Reliquary is relatively inexpensive, and you should be able to unlock it fairly quickly as you progress to higher difficulty levels that are packed with elite mobs. All rewards cost a total of 500 Behelit.

That totals to 2800 platinum (1000 platinum if you can do without the wings cosmetic and pet) for the Battle Pass to unlock all Reliquaries, plus 197 favor to unlock rewards in all Season 8 Reliquaries, plus 500 Behelit to unlock rewards in the Berserk Reliquary.

It’s a more complicated rewards system, but it shouldn’t take more time than the original Battle Pass… though you have many more opportunities to spend Platinum on extra cosmetic rewards, if you have the cash.
