It’s a long WoW maintenance for The War Within, and a quick maintenance for Classic — all servers are now back online!

Tuesday morning means it’s time for WoW maintenance for players of all eras, but it’s The War Within that continues the long maintenance trend, while Cataclysm and Classic servers have the standard one hour downtime.

Here’s the maintenance schedule for Tuesday, May 13:

• The War Within: Offline from 7am – 11am pacific (10am – 2pm eastern)
• Cataclysm Classic: Offline from 7am – 8am pacific (10am – 11am eastern)
• WoW Classic (including Classic Era, Season of Discovery, Anniversary, and Hardcore realms): Offline from 7am – 8am pacific (10am – 11am eastern)

This week The War Within launches Season 2 Turbo Boost, a somewhat silly name for a collection of buffs that will help you get and upgrade gear. We know the Puzzling Cartel Chip will be added as new weekly quest reward, allowing you to buy gear from Liberation of Undermine (as high as the difficulty level of the raid you’ve completed), to help get that drop you just haven’t seen — anyone else still waiting for a House of Cards? — or collect that piece of transmog you haven’t been able to pick up. Both are important goals.

Some of the details on exactly how Turbo Boost systems will work are still up in the air, and we’re still tracking down what’s new now that TWW servers are — servers came up nearly two hours early! We’ll have more posts on how Turbo Boost works later today.

But while TWW players were languishing, Classic players were back online in just an hour. That short downtime does mean TWW players could kill some time dipping their toes into Season of Discovery or another of Classic’s many variants. I don’t have the time to keep up with any more MMOs, but Season of Discovery offers novel new Warcraft gameplay that is both like and unlike the vanilla WoW we remember, and I wish I had more time to explore it. (More time and also a raid group.) Perhaps this downtime is my time to play Classic? Hm. Considering the state of my to do list, probably not, but it’s an option.

But now all World of Warcraft servers are online! I’ll see you in Azeroth.
