The Queue: Just a regular monday

It’s just a regular old Monday. You’ve asked questions, and I’ve answered them. I haven’t even said anything as wildly contentious as I did last week! Although I still stand by it, some of those classes could lose a bit of extra weight in their midsection.

While I pour myself a big cup of coffee, it’s time for — The Queue!

That’s either a really big range of books or a really small one. I’m not sure how much space exists between Fantasy and Physics, but I’m going to assume a lot.

Have you checked out the Dungeon Crawler Carl series? I just picked up the first one of them, and it’s been a fun and funny read so far. He’s got a cat sidekick! Or the cat has a guy sidekick! Y’know just depends on how you see the cat/human dynamic.

You could also do what Kal did and just read your way through the Nebula Awards list; odds are good there that you’d find at least one book you’d like. If that works, there are lots of years of awards to pull titles from!

I’d love to see the first Mass Effect game remade from scratch. There are so many things in it that aren’t quite landing right so many years out, but it’s still such a great game that launched a favorite franchise of mine. It could be so much more!

I’d like to see the first Borderlands game remastered. I had so much fun running around Pandora and experiencing the weird and wacky stuff as a Vault Hunter. I put many many hours into it and could stand to put many many more in.

A Chia Pet?! What year is it!!

Is it a basic one? Did you get the Bob Ross one? Do you use Chia pet related as a euphemism for getting your dog groomed? Yourself groomed??

This has just left me with more questions than answers. Good job on the productive morning, though. I hope you got to relax really good after that.

That doesn’t sound like a great way to design things. I hope that for the games sake you’re not reading it right, because what would the point of the lower difficulties be then.

I’m not saying that you have to be able to do everything in a game, no matter what difficulty you’re on; there can be things that are kept for the best players only, just as long as they’re set up more to be bonus content, not main story stuff. I’m not going to be able to finish Doom: The Dark Ages on its one life only super difficult mode, and I know that means I won’t get the shiny golden skin for my Doom Guy, and that’s ok! I could still finish the game and have a good time.

Leather wearers always felt the easiest to me, especially as the expansions went on. They’ve created a lot of great leather to put my Druid into! I could even put a bear head on my head so I could bear while I bear.

It’s the little things, y’know.

On the harder side, I’d say our friends who wear Mail armor have it roughest. You have to really like either the elemental aesthetic or the random animal bits aesthetic to get the most out of it. I love a good Naga hat ensemble, but it’s not for everyone. Evokers being Mail wearers also doesn’t give a full set to the other classes to play dress up with.

Bacardi has just gotten a new mouse toy. I don’t think he’s really sure what to do with it yet. Still, a bribed cat is a happy cat, and despite his wet food being discontinued, we’re soldiering on with high hopes. Still, more bribes couldn’t hurt to get you new shiny loot in your vaults.
