This week’s Epic Games Store free game of the week is Sable

Sable is a classic, with multiple awards to its name for its narrative, and it’s this week’s free game of the week from the Epic Games Store.

I find that Sable is one of those games which won a ton of awards for things like narrative and gameplay, so many people obviously have played it, but every time I mention it it needs a lot of introduction. Sable is the name of the protagonist, a girl who explores a ruined desert environment, both on foot and with a vehicle. To say much more would start to give away the game, and it’s really something to experience yourself. The gameplay is somewhere in the vicinity of a Diablo 4 or Hades — action packed, but with heartwrenching story beats and cuts, paced in a way to give you room to breathe between the blazingly fast action.

It’s a very good game, and while I’m always on board for a freebie, this game is well worth its real purchase price, too.
