Let’s have a little holiday WoW maintenance, as a treat — servers back online!

Modern WoW was suffering from an unusually high number of crashes and disconnects Thursday night, and even though BlizzardCS reported the issue was resolved I wonder if the problem led to today’s extra maintenance. Yes, it’s time for a surprise holiday maintenance for WoW: The War Within servers are scheduled to be offline from 7am – 8am pacific (10am – 11am eastern), but came back online slightly early. The War Within servers are back online, so it’s time to get back to transmog farming.

A one-hour maintenance window could mean the WoW servers just need a hotfix and a restart to address whatever was wrong. However, Blizzard has made no announcement, so I’m only guessing that it’s related to last night’s disconnects. However, everything came back online as scheduled and servers appear to be stable, so things are looking good for this holiday gaming weekend.
