Earn these snazzy new transmog rewards by zipping through the Outland Cup

It’s time to race through the skies of our favorite shattered planet, with this year’s Outland Cup rewards including some dazzling red-and-gold transmog options. If your goal is total completion you’ve got some aerial work cut out for you, but if you’d just like to pick up the new cosmetics then you’ll be able to coast your way to a new skymaster ensemble with ease.

There are five new items you can acquire: two different shoulderpieces (pauldrons and mantle), a cloak, a helm, and a tabard. I’m partial to the crimson scales of the mantle over the sharp lines of the pauldrons, but they both strike an imposing silhouette. None of the new cosmetics seem particularly aerodynamic, so I recommend donning them for pre-race red carpet walks and swanky victory celebrations rather than using them as actual racing attire. Here are their costs:

That’s 85 total badges for the five new looks, which should be a breeze. The red dragon racing MC, Lord Andestrasz, appears in Orgrimmar, Stormwind, and Valdrakken offering the Outland Cup Circuit quest. It rewards 80 badges for completing all 13 races across the shattered continent.

Completing a race with a bronze finishing time nets you a badge, finishing under silver’s time earns an additional badge, and beating the gold time awards a third. This is true across the three modes (Normal, Advanced, and Reverse) for each of the thirteen races. That’s an additional 117 badges, so each of your characters can collect a maximum of 197 badges. That’s more than enough for the new threads as well as some of the rewards from previous cups you may have missed out on. The event vendors are near Lord Andestrasz wherever he offers the quest.

Don’t forget that Riders of Azeroth Badges are Warband transferable. This will come in handy if you’re struggling to achieve those last few gold runs, as the races of Outland really amp up the difficulty compared to the mostly pleasant courses of Khaz Algar. There’s a lot of flying through trees, brambles, and eco-domes. The good news is that the recent changes to Skyriding allow for uses of Whirling Surge without taking away charges of Surge Forward, so as long as you can stay in the air you stand a decent chance of crossing the finish line with at least a silver time.

The Outland Cup runs until the early morning hours (Pacific Time) of March 10. Be sure to take a break from adventuring through the new zones of Midnight to let off some steam zipping around the Dark Portal on dragonback.
